The atmosphere at the field was buzzing with excitement, young and old, rookies and chiefs stretched and warmed up in preparation. The obstacle course would be first and finished off with the fun run in foamy mud with Country F's national colours. 

Alice watched as everyone conversed, she realised then that she'd really missed out on a lot during her first term as she watched people mingle, laughing as if they were all old friends.

Her thoughts drifted to her friends back home, and she suddenly shook her head at remembering she was meant to call Ella back then had a giggle as she could imagine how Ella would be fretting because of how she ended the phone call.
