To Trap a Dragon 2/2

The beast's roar caused the men to shudder and hide. The dragon swept down in an elegant motion, slicing the previously warned guard in two with its sword like claws.

'Idiot should have listened.' Lucius thought, eyeing the trail of guts painted onto stone.

He stepped forward and hopped up to the stone wall to try and get a feel of the surroundings. Small, almost unseeable, pulses of red and black mana waves rippled the air around him as he closed his eyes.

The sun was blocked once more and the wind crashed into Lucius's idly waiting figure, his magic sense flaring up instantly as he jumped back, releasing a shout poured with all hatred that he had festered inside him.

"Joor Zah Frul!" Lucius's voice powered through the air.

A hissing force of tranquil blue flew at the diving form of the red and black dragon.

The beast screeched as the crucible of Lucius's wrath dragged his divine soul back to the mortals plane, a feeling of agony incomprehensible to any man or mer's mind.

"Nid!" Odahviing cried out with a ferocious roar, smashing his skull into the cobble keep on his way down.

"Odahviing!" Lucius bellowed, staring into the dragons crimson eyes. "I challenge you to a debate." He held a bloodthirsty grin.

"Krif voth ahkrin, Dovahkiin." Odahviing replied in a cat like snarl, curling himself in a protective stance.

"The elder speaks first, yes?" Lucius stood, both hands on top of his blades hilt as the blade planted itself into the stone he stood on.

"Geh, Dovakiin... Prepare yourself!" Odahviing answered, rearing back with both wings behind him like an imposing crown.

"My breathe is winter! FO KRAH DIIN!" A long stream of ice was launched at Lucius who slowly back stepped himself into the keep, hoping to draw the dragon in.

The force of the shout making him stumble and his armour gain a dusting of shattered crystals.

"The Summerset Isles was colder." Lucius mocked the dragon. "My turn?"

Odahviing crept toward Lucius and gave a deep nod of respect. "Yees~ Your turn, Dovahkiin." He hissed.

"That's it! Now, wait until he's inside!" Lucius heard Jarl Balgruuf whisper to his men, watching Odahviing walk ever closer to the trap.

Lucius cast whirlwind sprint and acted to push the dragon those last few steps by force.

"Fus Ro Dah!" A full shout tore itself out his mouth and crashed into the dragons hide, sliding Odahviing directly under the trap.

"Now!" Lucius yelled and Ciri flashed to pull the chain and release the trap.

A heavy slam of wood and metal bounced off the walls, a cloud of dust hid the dragon for a moment as ear shattering roars reached their ears.

"Got him!" Balgruuf cheered.

"I think it's holding..." Ciri carefully analysed the trap for any signs of weakness.

"Tahrodiis, Dovahkiin! You have no honour!" Odahviing spat.

"Hmm, what? I used a shout didn't I?" Lucius countered the embarrassed dragon.

"Horvutah med kodaav. Caught like a bear in a trap..." Odahviing slightly whimpered. "Zok frini grind ko grah drun viiki, Dovahkiin... Ah, I forget. You do not know our tongue. My... eagerness to meet you in battle was my... undoing, Dovahkiin. I salute your, hmm, low cunning in devising such a grahmindol - strategem." Odahviing explained.

"I know. That was the plan after all. Although, i would call it a more suitable name. Master tactician perhaps?" Lucius said looking up to Ciri on the catwalk.

"Yeah~ Master tactician my ass!" She yelled down with a smile as the guards next to her laughed.

Lucius huffed before listening to the trapped dragon.

"Zu'u bonaar. You went to a great deal of trouble to put me in this... humiliating position. Hind siiv Alduin, hmm? No doubt you want to know where to find Alduin?"

"You guessed right... So, where is he hiding?" Lucius responded, patting his snout as he walked in front of him.

"Rinik vazah. An apt phrase. Alduin bovul. One reason I came to your call was to test your Thu'um for myself. Many of us have began to question Alduin's lordship, whether his Thu'um was truly the strongest. Among ourselves, of course. Mu ni meyye. None were yet ready to openly defy him." Odahviing said, huffing out his nose at Lucius's patting hand.

"You were telling us where to find Alduin?" Ciri jumped in as she flashed next to Lucius. "I wasted a potion because of you." She jabbed at Lucius's arm.

"Um~ Sorry?" He looked thoroughly confused.

"Unslaad krosis. Innumerable pardons. I digress. He has travelled to Sovngarde to regain his strength, devouring the sillesejoor... the souls of the mortal dead. A privilege he jealously guards... His door to Sovngarde is at Skuldalfn, one of his ancient fanes high in in the eastern mountains. Mindoraan, pah ok middovahhe lahvraan til. I surely do not need to warn you that all his remaining strength is marshalled there. Zu'u lost ofan hin laan... now that I have answered your question, you will allow me to go free?" Odahviing informed the duo.

"Do you swear yourself to me? To not go burning towns and cities in my absence." Lucius asked.

"Aam? Serve you? ...no. Ni tiid. If and when you defeat Alduin, I will gladly bow to your Thu'um, Dovahkiin." He began. " I will swear to not cause harm in your absence. Alduin has proven himself unworthy to rule. I go my own way now." Odahviing answered.

"Wait, how do we get to this Skuldalfn?" Ciri asked, taking the initiative.

"Only this. You have the Thu'um of a dovah, but without the wings of one, you will never set foot in Skuldafn. Of course... I could fly you there. But not while imprisoned like this." Odahviing smirked.

"Slimy little bastard eh?" Lucius laughed. "Me and you will get along great after I defeat Alduin."

Odahviing let out an amused snort. "Perhaps. So, will you release me?" He asked.

"Hmm? I need to prepare some things first." Lucius 'innocently' said. "Ciri?"

"I could do with some preparation." She smirked, catching on to his intention.

"Krosis!" Odahviing cursed.

"No, i'm ready. I'll release you." He said no longer joking at the dragons expense. "Coming Ciri?"

"Yup~" She quickly replied, walking up to the chain with a skip in her step.

"Onikaan koraav gein miraad. It is wise to recognize when you only have one choice. And you can trust me. Zu'u ni tahrodiis. I go my own way now. Free me, and I will carry you to Skuldafn." Odahviing voiced to Lucius, who was wiping his blade with an unknown liquid.

'I wonder what would happen if I made a sheath to hold this liquid in tandem with the blade...' His thoughts ran.

"Incredible! Uh... sir, you have no idea how long I have waited for such an opportunity! I would be most appreciative if you would permit me to perform some, ah, tests on you. Purely in the interests of the advancement of knowledge." Farengar came jogging through the wooden gates.

"Begone, mage. Do not test my promise to the Dovahkiin." Odahviing spat.

"I assure you, you will not even notice me. Most of them are hardly painful at all to a large dragon such as yourself." Farengar continued.

"Bad idea Farengar." Lucius warned.

"Surely you won't miss a few scales... or a small amount of blood..." Farengar muttered.

"Ready, Lucius?!" Ciri yelled down.

"Yeah! Pull it." He yelled back with an evil glint in his eye.

The dragon lightly slapped the court mage away as the trap released.

"I warn you Dovahkiin! Your envy of the Dov will only increase once you ride the winds of Kynareth!" Odahviing joyfully stretched from his previously trapped form.

"Sure, whatever you say, lizard." He snipped back with a half smile, eyeing the downed form of the curious mage.

I have a plan to improve Lucius in the coming chapters... It's pretty easy to guess tbh.

Two more books added to the "The Author is a lonely incel" list... i'm so fed up with the shit on this website.

Some of you people need to understand perspective. YOU are not Lucius...Try to think as he would based on what you know.

Stones please? I was nearly in the top ten before the reset. Thank you for that :)

Have a good one,

Your "patently evil" Author ;)

Creation is hard, cheer me up!
