Chapter 43 A question of life and death

"Gentlemen and ladies, is there any special secret technique, without mana, by which you can break into a storage bag and at least get something to eat?" Normu Soul suddenly said, not very loudly but loud enough for everyone present to hear him clearly. "Or," he said, "could you think of another way to let one of us regain some manas for a while, even if only for a few moments?"

This did cheer up a lot of people, everyone looked at each other and then quickly went back to their previous hopelessness.

There must be such a way, but apparently, none of them did.

"More, have you ever heard of such a secret skill?" Tenny didn't think what Normu Soul said was meaningless. If they put their ideas together, they might actually come up with something.

More Elrent looked unhappy. After a long silence, he shook his head and said, "I haven't heard of it."

Yiner Coler was much more practical: "Maybe if we get monster attack again, we can try eating their meat, drinking their blood as we killing them. We may have a real chance of success."

"We are tired and hungry now, long ago have no energy to kill a wave of monsters," Seven somewhat feebly replied.

"That... I have an idea." Yenny couldn't help but raise her head when she saw all these people worried.

The crowd was so excited that they wondered if they had heard something wrong.

"Do you really have the means? More Elrent couldn't help but ask if Yenny could really bring him hope and surprise.

"Yes, there is a way to help you eat and drink, but at a price." Yenny nodded her head carefully, indicating that she was right and they had not misheard her.

"Of course. It's saving our own lives. It's worth the cost." Yiner Coler was the first to say, "You tell me what you need us to do, and we'll be there."

"Yes, if there is a way, whatever it takes." Everyone agreed, and even Tenny made it clear that she wanted everything to be done as Yenny said.

Yenny stopped trying to keep everyone in suspense.

She quickly explained, "It's very simple. I can help you with food and drink, but you each owe me a favor. Unless you are dead, you cannot refuse, whenever I come to you and ask for it back, as long as it is not against your conscience."

"As long as you really have a way to do it, I owe this favor willingly. What's more, your so-called price is reasonable! You are really a good guy!" Seven smiled at the moment and said.

"Don't brag. I'm not a good man." Yenny laughed and said, "All of you are the best of the young generation. You will achieve as long as you don't die too soon. One of your favors is nothing now, but it will be quite different in the future when you become Incarnation, Judgment, or even a Mahayana."

Her words were as straightforward as she could be.

"Still, you are a lifesaver." Yiner Coler then said, "That's fine with me. I wonder if any of friends would disagree?"

A question of life and death could be settled with a future favor, and the others, naturally, agreed in unison.

"Yenny, shall we take an oath?" Yiner Coler asks bluntly.

"That's not necessary." Yenny said unconcerned, "The most important thing for the cultivation is the honest soul. You are all talented people with a great future. Naturally, you will not let such a small matter affect your most honest soul."

When the deal was done, everyone put their hopes in Yenny's hands and waited to see what she could do to solve the problem. Yenny, faced with expectant and enthusiastic stares, did not make any mystery. She took two things out of her pocket.

A bottle of satiety pills and a bead of water.

This was from when she first entered the Fallen River and her mana wasn't affected, and she took it out of her storage ring because she was feeling a little hungry.

After eating and drinking, her mind went blank for a moment, and she did not know how she could put the two things in her pocket without throwing them back into the storage ring.

Now it seemed that her innate sixth sense may have sensed something then that saved her from dying of hunger and thirst.

In addition to the one taken earlier, there were twenty-nine satiating pills in this bottle, enough to keep a dozen people fed.

The water-storing beads, however, did not require any mana. It automatically converted water from the air into water.

Yenny gave everyone a satiating pill, and gave the water beads to the Miss Great first. A single pill would keep a person going for four or five days, even if they never got their mana back.

When everyone learned that Yenny wasn't using any secret method or special ability to open the storage bag, but was just lucky enough to have these two life-saving items with her, they all thought differently.
