Swish!

Like a night gale, a shadow moved past jumping from one house to another rapidly.

The person running was moving gracefully and in full control of his movements. A sign of repeatedly doing the same thing until it became natural.

This was Ren.

He had been doing the same exercise every few days.

Not to get familiar or anything, but just for the feeling of exhilaration it gave him. It didn't hurt that he was getting accustomed to his new strength and speed quicker either.

In fact, he always chose a rather far and different place to go buy from and then come back home in order to experience the different roads and obstacles while running.

He stopped a few streets away from his apartment and then continued on walking from there.

Soon he was at the door of his building and ready to enter inside.

There was a security guard and cameras, so he didn't take the risk and enter stealthily, rather he stopped a bit farther and then walked normally.

Entering inside, his eyes roamed about for a bit, taking in the well-designed space and decorations. As well as the people currently moving about. Finally, he headed into the elevator.

Pressing the number for his floor, the door was just about to close when someone called his name.

"Ren, please hold the door for me!" Ren instinctively reached his hand at lightning speed and stopped the door.

He recognized the voice of the woman calling for him.

His eyes took in the form of the graceful woman carrying bags in one hand and holding the little hands of her daughter in the other.

She was wearing a green dress and a light-yellow-colored jacket over it. Which complimented well with her hazel eyes and black hair.

He gave her a smile as he offered his hand.

"Aunt Isaki, I'll help you carry the bags." He lightly took off the bags and held them with ease.

She glared at him. Albeit she was just faking it and was pleased by his manners.

"Ren, you know there is no need for that? Such things aren't heavy at all." She tried to take the bags off, but Ren was adamant so she decided to punish him for it by nagging him.

"In the first place why were you out this late, hah?"

Ren hurriedly put her daughter in between them and avoided eye contact as he spoke.

"Auntie, you know me, I just like to take strolls around the neighborhood. By the way, is little Rina feeling better from her cold?" He switched the topics towards the little girl looking at him and playing with his hands.

She was a lovely girl about 4 years old.

Like her mother, her hair was also black, but her eyes were blue and full of innocence.

Her clothes were well tidied and chosen by her mother for her.

These two people were Isaki and Rinako Fujiwara.

'Sigh, this kid…' Isaki looked at Ren helplessly.

From the transparent bag he was holding, she could spot the instant ramen cups he bought.

She knew that he was too lazy to cook, or rather he only knew how to make a few things.

"Rina has become better as you can see, today we just went to visit the doctor for a final checkup." She responded with a smile as she caressed the head of her daughter.

She was a single mother as her relationship with her husband didn't work, and her daughter was everything to her, so much that she quit her job as a superhero.

"Hey, Ren, today I'm making Curry rice, and miso soup. You should join us later alright?" Isaki softly said.

She was quite careful speaking because she felt like Ren would deny the request as usual. She often asked the same thing, and even though he refused, she would always leave him a portion.

Ren was a good kid, and she wanted him to act like a brother to her daughter, and thus basically become her son.

It was not weird for her, since she knew him well. But also, at the same time, she didn't want to pressure him into something he might not like.

Since he wanted his space she gave it to him.

As expected Ren's eyes turned undecisive.

And even the cute look Rina was giving him didn't change his response.

"Auntie, I'm sorry, I have some things to do later…" He lied through his teeth and spat such a weak lie even he didn't believe it.

It especially damaged him that Rina's expression turned sad.

"Is that so? Okay, then you must join us later then. Don't worry Rina, Ren will join us sometime later as he is busy now" Isaki was worthy of holding the title of a mother.

She pacified her daughter and also Ren.

She patted his back and smiled as if nothing had happened.

The elevator door opened and Ren hurriedly skidded over to his apartment after bidding her goodbye and putting the bags near her door.

"See you later auntie."

She smiled as she saw him and then her smile fades away.

She was aware that Ren was an orphan, and she knew he had just moved here.

But she wanted to be of the best help to him.

If he allowed her.

'Well, he would come around to.'

Meanwhile, Ren who had just opened his door hurriedly closed it with the lock.

He then moved to his room, grabbed a change of clothes, and moved to the bath.

He had just had a nice workout running around.

Once he was in the water, his body started to relax.

"Sigh"

Dealing with Isaki was quite stressful for him. It was not that he hated her.

It was just that he was not from this world. He originally did have a mother, father, and sister.

His heart was just not ready to accommodate new people in their places.

He actually quite liked both of them.

After all, it had been two weeks now, and he met them almost every single day.

But, he hadn't thought of what to do just yet. So he may end up leaving this apartment. In that case, it was best to not get attached.

This was especially important in this new world.

This new dangerous world.

He grabbed a towel and dried his hand before he grabbed his phone.

'It's just like that time, heh'

His hands scrolled through the similarly-looking smartphone he had in his last life.

He was seeing the news.

Just like that time before he found out about the fire.

It was just that what he was seeing was something crazy…

This world's superheroes had some that he recognized from the various animes he watched before.

He had seen similar news to these the first time he had searched online in this world.

and at that time he had yelled in shock:

"What the hell?!! Just where did you send me Goddess?!!"
