The Treacherous Plot

King Philip Leopold Evergreen was full of regret in banishing his own kin, he was in deep remorse, he sent an invitation to King James Fitzgerald Alistair to come to his kingdom do discuss many matters that needed to be issued, King James arrived at the castle with Prince Rulf, who brought a knight of his choosing, this particular knight despised Prince Rulf, for he had the knight's love locked up in a dungeon, and her very life hangs in the balance. So, this poor knight has absolutely no choice but to follow the prince's orders to the letter, or Prince Rulf will have her beheaded for treason, which will befall upon his hands, unable to save her. The three of them have reached the Evergreen kingdom, the kings walked towards the study, where Prince Rulf and the knight wondered off to a room to negotiate what the next step would be. "Alright, we finally arrived, no doubt King Philip wishes for his daughter's return, after she embarrassed me in front of the entire kingdom, and thanks to her, I can't ever show my gorgeously handsome face in public again. That's why I brought you here with me because I have a task for you, Sir Charles." A lady in waiting was walking down the hall with some fruit and fine red wine for the kings while they spoke of their business, but she noticed a door that is cracked open and was just about to open it further to see who was inside until Prince Rulf resumed of what he was saying, "I want you to find Princess Kaylein wherever her hiding location may be, kill her, and to prove that you don't betray me, bring back her corpse however long it takes. Once that is done and over with, we will take her to the king, we will tell him that she was found near the castle grounds, even though she is exiled, she returned to take her revenge on her father for what he did to her. She died trying to sneak in, I will be in his dept, once I manipulate him to write his will, make me in line for the throne, I hire an elite assassin to kill the king, then I'll become king and no one will stand in my way, not even my three older brothers who already have their own kingdoms." Her eyes greatly widened, but tried to keep her composure as if nothing was wrong and got to the study where the lords were, took her leave, and bolted for the servant quarters. "Cesellia?" called out Kaylein's handmaiden and dear friend, Aelienor. Cesellia turned around, relieved to see her, and was now able to catch her breath, "My goodness, Cesellia. You were running so fast as if the devil himself were on your heels. What seems to trouble you, my friend?" Aelienor asked with a worried expression with how heavily Cesellia was panting desperately trying to regain her strength to speak. "Aelienor, please, you must send someone to protect Princess Kaylein. She's in great danger. I overheard, by accident, a plot against our beloved princess." She said, still very winded. "But, sister, who would wish to cause harm to our kind princess?" questioned Aelienor. Cesellia managed to finally catch her breath for her to continue, "Prince Rulf is going to send one of his knights to go after our beloved princess and kill her." Aelienor was shocked by this dreadful news and went to the knights training grounds to look for the very same knight who trained Kaylein how to wield and fight with a Falchion sword, Sir Dorian Chevalier, who is nineteen of age, medium length of red hair, and soft blue eyes. Aelienor got to her destination by taking many secret paths that only a handful of people throughout the castle know about it, Kaylein included, she looked around to make sure no one sees her coming out from the secret passageway, and went to find Sir Dorian. "Aelienor?" A voice came from behind her, which made her stop dead in her tracks like a deer in front of an arrow, slowly turned around, and was immediately relieved to find out that the voice belonged to the person she was on a quest to find. "Sir Dorian, thank goodness I found you, well more precisely, you found me, but that is not the point." She said with such delight in her tone at first and as she continued her voice becomes much more serious, this last sentence was done in a whisper so no other knights or anyone else for that matter, could hear her. "May we go somewhere privately so that I may speak with you?" Sir Dorian nodded and led her to an abandoned room that hasn't been used ever since Kaylein had been sent to live in exile, for it was her personal training room that the knights conducted so she could train and not get caught for not acting as a proper princess should behave, he closed the door quietly after making sure nobody noticed them going into Kaylein's training room. "Now, what is going on that has caused you to sneak around the castle?" Questioned Dorian. "Aelienor has told me of some dire news. There is a plot, a treacherous plot that is being schemed as we speak that threatens Princess Kaylein's life. Thus, the reason of me coming to seek you out to tell you this, for I know that you will stop at nothing to protect our princess, and not to mention about your feelings for her that haven't gone unnoticed. The only person who hasn't noticed was Kaylein herself and his majesty because they thought you were a sweet and kind knight to everyone and not just her, so they paid no mind to your true intentions. But, right now, Prince Rulf is the one who is sending one or rather, his ONLY knight that he brought along with him, and is sending him to go kill Kaylein! Please, you must go and reach Kaylein before that other knight gets to her first!" Dorian bolted out of the door quickly as he could, went to the armory to prepare himself with a few weapons, a bow and arrows, Kaylein's change of clothes that she had on hand in case anything happened to her other clothes while she fought or trained, and his Falchion sword. "I'm on my way, Kaylein." Dorian thought those words, got on his horse, and left the castle grounds to the forest on the quest of finding his princess. Luckily for Dorian, Sir Charles was still preparing himself for executing Kaylein and how he was going to come with a strategy of getting Kaylein. Meanwhile, it was getting later in the evening, and Greg was putting his daughter to bed, kissed her forehead, and whispered, "Good night, Gaselle. I'll see you in the morning." He softly blew out the candle, her room was now dark, but he was able to still see where he was going, left her room, softly closed her door, and started blowing out the rest of the candles as he made his way to his bedroom, or so that's what he made it seem, but really he was going to go back to the forest to see Kaylein again to ask her to be his adopted daughter because he feels like it was the right thing to do. Kaylein made it back to her cave after Greg left back to his village hours ago, she started heading to the babbling brook to drink some of its water, but stopped to listen for she thought she heard footsteps. However, it was silent for a moment, until she heard them again, she drew her sword, quietly listening for the footsteps, there they were, and they are growing louder as they drew ever nearer to Kaylein's location. Kaylein turned herself to the West and she and as well as a female traveler, who looks to be either early to late twenties, if not a bit older, wearing a medium length brown cloak, and some clothes that quite complement her figure if she might add, were both startled by one another, and the traveler was the first to speak out of the two of them. "My goodness, that was quite the scare, but what is a young lady, such as yourself, doing out here all by herself?" She had a gently speaking voice that didn't make her seem life-threatening, but Kaylein still held her sword ready to defend herself. "Forgive me for being rude, but I don't think that is any of your business. Besides, you are one to talk, you're a female and all alone out here as well." The traveler nodded, "Indeed, you are correct that I am a woman, but, I am not here by myself, I live in a nearby cabin with my husband, and we have lived here a bit longer than you have lived on this Earth. Now that the rudeness has been dealt with, allow me to introduce myself, I'm Typhinia, and you are?" "K-" Kaylein cut herself off before mentioning her true name once again. "I REALLY must be careful when giving out my name." Kaylein said to herself in her mind then spoke up, "Amillia. My name is Amillia Saphire." "Very well, Amillia Saphire, it looks as though you haven't had a proper meal in a while, have you just been living off the berries that are at the bank of the lake?" Typhinia had good intentions, but Kaylein just grew more cautious after hearing her say that. "How did you know that I have been eating nothing but berries, are you some sort of spy sent here by Prince Rulf?" She has her sword at the ready and began to feel a bit more nervous than she was previously. "I really have no idea who he is, but I know that you have been eating nothing but berries because that's what we ate for so long as well before we made our cabin with our two hands and we have been living here for a few years now." Typhinia proclaimed. "Come, you must be famished, you'll have a nice proper meal, and perhaps have a nice wash afterwards." Kaylein was even more suspicious of this woman who she had never seen before while being in the forest for such a long time.
