Chapter 93

"Well? Have you figured something out already?" Airen asked him.

They were inside the dim-lit room again across the different gateway.

Toren frowned and sighed, "I got to know about a lot of things," He said. "But my questions still trail along unanswered. I do not think I am getting anywhere with this kind of pace."

"But that was such a long century."

"I guess there are questions that even time cannot answer."

Airen softly snaked her slender arms around his chest and rested her chin on his shoulder. He could somehow hear and feel the soft caress of her sweet breath, almost as if whispering to him some lovely words.

They stayed like that for a while – unmoving as if they were frozen by time.

Toren had learnt such silent communication with her that it had been too easy to guess her desires and behaviors.

"You must be feeling hungry," He croaked awkwardly. "Shall we go and eat?"

Airen nodded and immediately fixed her dress.

They returned to the otherworld of flower fields and partook the heaven-bound foods offered by celestial bodies above.

As they quietly do such a mundane ritual, Toren could not take his eyes off her.

He had always felt so drawn at her beauty, but today was quite particularly special.

Something about her was radiating even brighter.

"Is there something wrong?" She asked.

"Did you drink some stars before I got here? You are looking lovelier than usual."

Airen giggled and it sounded like an angel. "Maybe because I am falling more in love with you. That was the only thing that changed."

Later on, when they were finished with their food and drinks, Toren spelled out a rather strange request – at least, for himself. He does not have a single clue why he would want such a thing, but still asked if he could have some painting materials.

He told about getting entranced at his brother's craft when he saw him painting pictures before.

Airen heeded and pondered about it for a while before finally allowing it.

She brought in some canvas sheets and paintbrushes and oil colors out of completely nowhere and gave it to him. Airen told him about his flair in painting pictures before when he had all his memories.

"I wish you had not requested me to take out all of your memories," She said. "You were such a great painter then. I wonder if your gift remains even without the knowledge of all the experience you had before."

Toren was taken aback with such a story, but somehow felt relieved.

It was as if some kind of cool and soothing hand softened his chest after hearing it.

"I am truly glad to know that," He smiled boyishly. "I seem to really love painting even after losing my memory. If I was doing such a thing before, then I was probably so happy. I got to do what I sincerely want."

Airen's eyes slanted and loomed a mysterious aura. "Yes, you were so happy about it. You were willing to do anything for your passion. Even if you have to get into trouble, not even hells could stop your hands from painting."

Toren dismissed it as an exaggeration and laughed at it, "I think you are going overboard with that. Though it feels like I was quite the kind of stupid to do such a thing."
