One-eyed black dragon 2

"*Huff* *Huff*"

It was hopeless, I couldn't do it no matter how hard I tried, this felt like an insurmountable mountain. Something I simply wouldn't be able to overcome. It was as if the entire world is against me. The moment I came close to landing a hit, my strike would somehow get deflected, or it would fail in the process. It was a strange feeling...

I had enough of this. The other eye was injured, how hard could it be for me to do the same. I even had a divine sword.

Somehow, the thing seemed to sense what I was going with. It roared out in pure rage, even more than before.

*Thud*

Strangely, it left the safety of the skies and landed. It pridefully looked at me, almost as if to taunt me to try doing it.

No need to say it, but I was surprised by that. Nonetheless, I took the chance at hand. I flew right next to its healthy eye. I was surprised that it made no other move to defend itself from my attack.

*Ching*

It was like hitting Adamantine— even harder. My sword could cut through it like a hot knife through butter.

The thing almost smirked at my disbelieving expression. Did it adapt to it from the last time Albert hit its eye? It had to.

I grimaced. I didn't like how it was playing with me like this… I was fucking trying my hardest here, there wasn't a single inch of my armour that wasn't bloodied or dented. And the thing still had enough leeway to play around like this…

No. Let's not get emotional, that just means I got a chance with it underestimating me.

My magic flared up, I was using every single drop of MP available to me and sourcing it into my Divine sword. That was how I meant the sword to be used. Luckily, the hubris of the black dragon knew no bounds, it just sat there as I concentrated my entire being on the sword that I and Hephie made—It was our sword.

I will pull through.

It was almost as if every single thing I attainted during this brisk journey was meant to be used at this exact moment. Everything was put together with a click in my mind.

[MasterSwordsman: lv20]-->[ DivineSword: lv1]

[MasterElementalist: Lv20]-->[Divine user of Elements: Lv1]

[DivieSword: Lv1 and Divine user of Elements: Lv1 → The warlock: lv1]

The user has entered the divine beginnings in both the Sword and Magic, and faced with impending doom, both the skills react to create: The warlock, a master of both magic and sword. Magic in one hand and a sword in the other. That's all it would take the user to conquer the multiverse.

I breathed out. It was the first time something like a skill merge happened. My understanding of both the sword and Magic grew massively. All my previous faults were suddenly apparent to me. I was simply swinging a sword around like some fool and tossing around magic like an imbecile. It was embarrassing.

*Swoosh*

I raised my sword to split the sea of flames that headed my way... The same flame that I could only hope to escape. I cast an eye at the beast and widened one eye. Somehow, the mean bad Dragon didn't seem as intimidating as before.

*Humm*

My sword hummed appreciatively, almost as if appreciating the change that went through me. I also appreciated it. My sword— our sword— would be the settling point in this fight. With such a weapon, I could at least have a chance at victory.

Utilising the moment of the negligence the brute seemed to have, I put as much MP as I could and slashed, utilising every drop of willpower.

*Thud*

A couple of large black scales dropped to make way for a superficial wound, likewise, It was no fatal wound by any means. But it was a start. I could see a ray of hope shining at me now, likewise, I could finally deal damage now.

*Roar*

It roared out in pain at the small injury." Can deal damage, but can't handle taking it, hah?" I mocked. Provoking it was not a smart move, but adrenaline was coursing through me at this moment.

I felt truly alive. I suppose there was no denying my nature at this point…

The one-eyed dragon being the prideful being it was, wouldn't stay sit after that. I used some wind magic as a pseudo rocket thruster to arrive at the top of its skull and thrust my sword with everything I got, holding it with both hands.

'Tsk.' Sadly, it did seem that was a well-protected part. Whether it used magic to protect itself, or it was just naturally more resistant, was beyond me.

Unlike before, it seemed to take me more seriously. I was an actual threat now, after all.

I don't know how many minutes or hours have passed, but I was slowly grinding at it, one small wound at a time. I couldn't afford to lose focus even once during the entire fight, one mistake would spell my doom— I was a glass cannon. The dragon had gnashes and scars on it as its blood turned the entire forest into a crimson mess.

HP: 240000/380000

MP: 180000/230000

It was going to happen eventually, I will do it. I had to do it.

Suddenly, a light ray shot down from the sky into the dragon's bruised body, and it seemed to restore itself to its original state.

Bullshit!

I begrudgingly looked at the sky from where the light shot up, gritting my teeth as I slowly lowered my sword. Wasn't Gaia unable to interact with the world due to the contract... All my efforts were immediately denied.

It was in my state of denial that I could feel a cold hand touch mine and help me raise my sword up to start fighting again.

[Blessing of the Greater Wind Spirit gained!]

Damage with the wind element is permanently boosted by 100%.

I looked back at the woman hugging me from my back, "Aiz…"

It couldn't have been her... This woman was much older and with longer hair, she was otherwise a perfect copy. I couldn't get a better look as I saw her get absorbed back into the black dragon as it roared in indignity. Nonetheless, I could see she had a notable reaction when I mentioned Aiz's name.

'Greater Wind Spirit blessing…'

It seems the beast didn't like the blessing that much, as It went with even more intensity than before— hate would be a more apt description.

Raising my sword again, the fight resumed.

HP:20000/380000

MP:0/180000

"*Huff *Huff*" I smiled victoriously, yet tiredly, as I looked at the large beast straight in the eye. It lay down, turning the surrounding area into a lake of crimson flowing blood.

Unlike what I expected, the beast didn't seem to struggle beyond that. It peacefully rested on the ground and a wistful expression on its face. Almost as saying that it had enough already. I was about to deal the finishing strike when I could feel the beast ballooning with magic. I wasn't about to find out what would happen. I needed to get out of here.

"*UGH*"

I screamed out in pain as light chains rained down from the sky, impaling me by the arms and legs. The chains went through both me and the dragon and sunk into the scorched and bloody earth. I couldn't even move as I watched the beast menacingly increase in size as magic seemed to flow into it.

'Is this the end?' I muttered. That was all I could say before Darkness overcame me as I watched the explosion at point blank.
