Skill Bundle and Unexpected Company.

Waking up from my bed I nearly stumbled. Whatever reconstruction that happened to my body, it was taxing on my body. I felt a bit weak, but I did feel the changes. For instance, I could actually see my vague muscles get definition. There was not much change in my height, but I felt heavier. It was like I gained at least a few kilos.

As I got down after my chores, I saw my mom setting the table for breakfast. " Are you alright son? You look a bit under the weather today. Does the wounds still hurt?", my mother said with a concerned expression. 

Thank god, it seems that my dad hasn't told her about what went down really. "No mom, everything's alright. I am just hungry." That threw the topic at hand off course and she went to get the casserole with food from the kitchen.

After a bit, my dad came back from a run. "Get fresh fast babe. Or the food's gonna go cold." My mother instructed my dad who was drenched in sweat. My dad just nodded and gave me a pat on my back and just went to take a bath. I had my breakfast and just went back into my room. I had an important decision to make

It was time to speak with the AI and get my skill bundle. I went to my room and closed the room. I sat down on my bed and took a deep breath and summoned the AI with my mind. "Sir, are you ready? ", it asked in its cold voice. 'I am as ready as I ever will be AI. Let's get on with it.' As soon as my prompt ended, the blue translucent screen unfurled before me. "Sir, the skill bundles that you can access as of now are limited due to your growing body. So, there are only primary bundles that you can choose from. There was another fact that the mistress couldn't tell you in the dreamscape. The powers that you can get are actually dependent on your luck. You will get that from a raffle machine. So be mentally prepared so as to be content with whatever the prize may be." Just as his conversation ended, the translucent screen had a red switch protruding from it. Praying to all gods to give me a good draw, I pressed it.

I could hear a whirl from a non-existent gachapon machine. When the whirls stopped a gacha just materialized in my hand. It had a black colour and had the words primary written on it. I crushed it with one final prayer. Suddenly a white light emerged while disintegrating the gacha in my arm. Then it disappeared from my arm. I looked at the screen in front of my eyes to look at what skill bundle I exactly got.

When the light receded, I got my answer. There was a single line written on the screen. 'Primary gacha drawn; Result: You have got Frank Moses (prime form) from the RED universe. Do you accept it?'

I was stunned for a few minutes. The character that was played by Bruce Willis was one of my favourite main characters in my past life. I mean who doesn't like a 'retired and extremely dangerous' man who even in his sixties kicks some serious butts. Now I am getting his skills when he was in his prime form. Even though he is not that over powered like some of other characters that I liked, for a primary gacha draw, I might have hit the jackpot.

Without any further delay I chose to accept it. As I mentally prompted it, suddenly a familiar feeling of itching and cramping started to wash over me. I ran to my bathroom before I start throwing up. When I reached the bathroom, the pain has reached its peak. I was literally writhing. But it ceased much quicker than I anticipated and this time there was no vomiting. Thank goodness, I was sweating profusely and I was feeling very weak. After filling my bath tub, I took off my clothes and dipped into the water. While enjoying the relief, I prompted the AI to show my exploits from this draw.

9. Problem-Solving (Elite): He's skilled at solving complex problems, whether they involve puzzles, traps, or obstacles. Also comes with a lockpicking ability.

10. Driving Skills (Skilled): Frank is a capable driver and can handle vehicles during high-speed chases and evasive maneuvers.

Now that is a fairly extensive list. I clearly remembered how I just had like two skills and that was basically novice level. Frank Moses was really a great agent and his skills made him a force to be reckoned with. His proficiency in martial arts like krav maga, wrestling and jujitsu made him a skilled fighter. That was enough for me to get away from at least seventy percent of fights without any big damage taken. I was basically now a veritable CIA agent level person and all it will take is some honing of my skills. 

I got out of the tub and walked towards my room. After putting on some clean cloths, I came down again. I needed to do some shopping. I went to ask my mother about buying a gift for Luke. She was working on some income tax filing procedures while I approached her. "Hey mom, don't you have work today? And where did dad go?" hearing my question she looked up. "Do you really want me out of the house that bad? Are you having a girl over?", my mom asked me with a humorous expression on her face. "MOM…. Seriously… we just got here." I said with a morbid expression. "I was kidding son, relax. I have to file our dealership's income tax returns. So, I am taking the day off. Why did you ask?" I then proceeded to tell her about how we were invited for Luke's birthday party while meeting Claire on my morning walk. Of course I had to make up a story how she helped me to treat my wounds and I wanted to buy a gift for her youngest child as a vote of thanks.

"Son, why don't you just take a cab and select it yourself. I do have a ton of work to look into before evening.", she said with a regretful tone. She stood up and went to fetch her purse. While I was indeed bummed to go shopping on my own, I still decided to make the shopping run myself. 

  I got out of the house and walked towards the main road to hail a cab. Finally reached the main road and after waiting for a while I did get a cab. I reached my destination. I entered the store to buy something for the kid. I was looking at some pretty cool rc cars, while I was tapped on my shoulder by someone. When I turned, I saw Haley Dunphy smiling with me with a bag of candy behind me. 

"Hey Miguel… what are you doing here?", she asked me with a smile. "Well I was looking for a gift for your brother. Would you like to help?" I asked her with a silly smile. "Oh…I would like to", she answered with a laugh. 

With that we both hit it off. We were talking and at times cracking some jokes while looking for a suitable gift. I was quite happy that I had company and I was enjoying her presence and she seems to be enjoying mine. But I guess I should have taken a hint that when I am with a person important to the plot of this world it would not be normal at all. And it was exactly what followed.
