The Nearby Quarry of Ores and Precious Stones

Elaina is currently unaware of what is happening in the Guild. After she learns about the new item that can save her time and effort, she is willing to complete more of her missions that she would have just left for quite a while until it will be completed by itself.

"I could just continue with the grind of doing both the weekly and daily mission but it will take me some time. However, if I finish the permanent mission, it will net me the necessary amount of FP before, but I will have to do all of the mission all at once instead of cumulative This is harder to choose than I thought."

"[I prefer that you don't overthink about it and you shouldn't rush on it. Besides, you are the only one who buys in the ledger, and no one else. No one will be competing with you to buy the item you need.]"

Elaina sighed. "Well, you are correct, but I tend to be like this whenever I try to get something. I want to try and try again until I succeed."

Although she is patient, she is not patient enough for this and that makes it a bit painful for Elaina to wait a few more days before she can even purchase things from the ledger due to how expensive it is.

"[Patience is virtue and rewarding, Elaina. And besides, this is what you call progression. You will have to work hard for it, instead of getting it outright.]"

"Yeah, you are right." Elaina sighed. "But I can gather the ingredients for now and prepare for it before I can buy it, right?"

"[Yes, if you wanted to prepare for that, go ahead and collect all of the stuff you need.]"

Elaina suddenly thought of collecting materials. Although she doesn't have the tools to gather them just yet, she can buy them in the tools shop instead. Although she hasn't seen it personally, the map that is present inside the Almanac where the locations of different areas are displayed has shown Elaina an area where she can gather multiple ores and some precious stones. It was deep into the forest and Elaina had no plans on entering there until the farm was stable enough but with the plan to purchase the sprinkler recipe soon, she would have to visit the quarry a lot earlier than she planned.

It will be hard work so Elaina went to Julia who is reading a book in the living room about this matter and whether she will be up to the task or maybe just not.

"Julia? Are you busy?"

Julia stopped reading her book and attentively answered Elaina. "Is something wrong, Sis? I am not busy and am free to do anything. You needed my help?"

"Yeah, a bit. I was wondering if you are capable of mining some ore rocks and extracting their precious stones and ores for us to use or sell?"

"Hmmm? Precious stones and ores? You mean...like emeralds, rubies, and such?"

"Yeah. Although I am not certain if they are indeed present there, it is a possibility."

Julia stood up and smiled at Elaina. "Looks like it is another time for me to shine again. Yes, sis. I can help you with this task and don't worry, we won't even need to use a pickaxe or anything. I can mine the things we need in just a few seconds if you want."

Seeing how proud Julia was of her claim, Elaina couldn't help but wonder. "Eh? No need for a pickaxe? Then how are you even gonna mine them?"

"We should head to where we will start mining, Sis. I can show you how it is done since it is much faster to do than explaining it in words. Just be sure to carry some containers that can carry the mined items easily but knowing how limited we both can carry, we can just get a crate that we can push around. Sir Troy should be able to provide them easily."

Elaina nodded as she knew how hard it would be for them to gather the items mined compared to how they carry the carcasses of monsters which would make it significantly lighter.

Julia started to prepare for the trip while Elaina contacted her brother about this matter using the communication device that he left for her to use. And with one request, Elaina's little request has been immediately granted. But instead of getting the cart, he gave her a little bag that could fit a lot of stuff but remained light to carry as a gift for his sister. He didn't deliver it personally since he was busy but he made sure that the product was given to her.

It was a bag that had a magic space that extended and allowed anyone to use it as a pseudo warehouse and could carry lots of stuff inside without being actually the same size as what it should look like. This gift alone made Elaina very happy. Not only will this help a lot in the foreseeable future but even in their everyday foraging activities as well as hunting activities.

Although Troy can't come personally, he wishes Elaina to take it easy for once and rest if necessary and not to work too hard which Elaina understands.

Julia is soon done with her sets of preparations and goes with Elaina to the quarry where they will mine. Elaina only followed the map that was on the almanac so that they wouldn't get lost but when they arrived, Elaina just realized that the quarry was not that far from the farm. It was only far due to the trees stopping them from moving around but without the trees, it is very straightforward where to go and get there easily.

"Woah! This place is huge and the amount of ores and other items we can mine here is massive! Sis! I didn't know this was just nearby!" Julia was amazed by what she was seeing. It was something that she already expected but was still pleasantly surprised.

"Even I didn't expect it either. I only heard about this place to be a quarry but didn't expect it to be this big in the first place..." Elaina was shocked as well.

"Quick, Sis! Ready the container. We will be mining these stuff and making them ours!"

Before Elaina can understand Julia, Julia already started her little work. She put her two palms flat to the ground and all of a sudden, all of the big ores containing the true items they would need suddenly disappeared, leaving behind the products that they were trying to mine. Most of them are copper and iron ores but there are some precious stones present in them as well.

"Wow! Amethysts! And even rubies! Woo! Sis! This is very good!"

Elaina has only seen the stones that Julia has mentioned on pieces of jewelry and on books but not as raw material as Julia is holding right now.

"Sis, we are in luck! All of the precious stones we got are of pure quality with very little to no impurities! We can use these as it is or process them as jewelry and sell them for bigger prices!"

Elaina could only nod as she started to gather the iron and copper ore into the little bag. But knowing this little quarry here does, not open up a lot of stuff for Elaina. It won't be long even for her to upgrade her tools to something more modest and better than what she got in the future. Based on what the Almanac says, the ores refresh every week. This means if they harvested the ores today, they won't be able to harvest anything for the next few days. But this alone is enough for Elaina to know. Now that this is how it was, Elaina is now pretty sure she will be coming back here again in the future.
