13 Chapter 13

A Simple Fisherman in RWBY

Chapter 13

- Argenti Ovans –

14 minutes later…

I lazily sat in my chair, yawning and waiting for a hit. I honestly miss this fun part of my life now. There's no such thing as a Gacha game in Remnant, which was a shame. I had wanted to be the kind who could export games from Earth into Remnant, but I didn't have that kind of talent either. I also lacked some money, so I couldn't hire people. I felt a tug on my line as I was lost in my thoughts.

I stood from my chair and looked at the bob with great expectation. My heart pounded loudly, and I let out a grin as the muscles around my arms tightened.

It was now or never…!

I CAN FEEL IT!

"OHHHHHH!" I roared as I pulled my line out of the water and observed the object at the very end of my hook. My excitement was soon gone when I saw what I had just caught.

I observed as the object fell unto the ground in silence…

I got a book written in unknown languages that I couldn't read. Well, I might as well grab this book and identify it… I patted my butt and grabbed the book on the ground.

Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic Grimoire x1: This rare grimoire contains the essence of Shadow Dragon Slayer Magic. Within its ancient pages lies a comprehensive guide revealing this lost magic's secrets, techniques, and profound wisdom. Possession of this singular tome grants unparalleled insight, empowering the reader to master the potent fusion of draconic strength and shadowy mystique.

I was left speechless by the outrageous reward I had just earned with my fishing. I felt excited as I now knew which world this lake connected to.

THE SSR GACHA PULL!

LETS FUCKING GO, BABY! I GOT THE EDGY DRAGON MAGIC!

FAIRY TAIL!

The beautiful world of friendship and fan service! The lands of wizards, demons, gods, dragons and sexy girls!

Wait…

I suddenly thought of something really important. It felt like a cold splash of water had hit me and extinguished my excitement. I knew that not everyone in the Fairy Tail verse could use magic, and I wondered if I could even learn it. After all, I don't live in a world where magic is known.

I suddenly felt awful as I looked at the magic grimoire in my hand with doubt. Wait a minute! I suddenly remembered something even more outrageous related to Dragon Slayer Magic! Wouldn't I transform into a full-fledged dragon if I were to learn this magic?

And unlike Natsu and the rest of the cast members, I don't have a mighty dragon inside me to mitigate such effects.

I immediately dropped the grimoire on the ground by instinct. Fuck! This reward doesn't feel that fragrant anymore but more like a beautiful poop. I silently stared at the book and threw it inside the storage. Honestly, I might as well deal with this later after I'm done fishing here.

Also, I can't help but complain about my SSR reward. Why did I get the Shadow Dragon Slayer magic? Why couldn't I get the fire instead? That magic doesn't fit my aesthetic at all… I left my edgy and emo phase a long time ago! I like wearing more colourful and vibrant clothes now.

Don't get me wrong—the Shadow Dragon Slayer magic is excellent, but every true gamer knows that fashion is the true end game! I unconsciously touched my beautiful crimson hair in doubt… Should I dye my hair black? Maybe I'll be lucky again and get more magic grimoire… Yeah, let's wait before using this grimoire.

I sighed and went back to fishing. After all, I still had a time limit and would rather not waste time. You never know when the Grimm is coming back. In hindsight, I would really cry if I couldn't use any magic from the Fairy Tail verse, or else this place would be utterly useless.

Like I fucking fought my way to come in this place, and I will not come out of here empty-handed.

15 minutes later…

I got something!

Surprised, I saw a golden key on my fishing rod hook. I immediately grabbed the golden key to confirm my doubts.

And I laughed hard when I confirmed the origin of the key.

Boy.

I fucking won. Let's fucking go.

The Gate of the Maiden Key x1: One of the twelve Zodiac Gate keys used by Celestial Spirit Mages to summon the Maiden, Virgo.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

PRAISE THE GACHA GOD!

Wait… Didn't I fucking steal Lucy's valuable member…? She wasn't that important for the plot, right?

I'm sure she will be fine without it, right?

Meanwhile, in the Fairy Tail world…

Erza, Lucy, Gray, Natsu, and Happy looked helplessly at the wind barrier surrounding the train station. They were here to catch a terrible killer before he could assassinate their guild leader, yet they got caught and got inside a trap that blocked them from the outside world.

While Erza was lost in her thoughts, trying to think of a solution, Lucy panicked as she looked around erratically. "What should we do!? Aren't we stuck here?"

"Calm down, Lucy. I'm sure Erza would think of a solution…" said Gray as he sat on some rubble, covering his ears from Lucy's loud noise.

However, Natsu wasn't the most patient and blew up again. "ARGH! We can't wait! I'll try to force my way in again!" Natsu's hands became flame again as he was ready to charge toward the wind barrier until Lucy kicked him away.

"IDIOT! Didn't you try this already!? Your body almost shredded!" shouted Lucy angrily as she felt her role as a babysitter.

"Lucy! You don't understand! We have to save Gramps!" shouted Natsu with grievance. Lucy massaged her forehead in pain. "I know! But leave it to Erza to solve this since we can't do anything!"

"But…!" muttered Natsu, tears forming in his eyes. However, luck seemed to be on their side when Happy suddenly remembered something.

"Luigi! I almost forgot to give you this key!" shouted Happy as he took a golden key from his little green backpack.

Lucy became furious at this instant. She knew that this cat was playing with her at this point! "You stupid CAT! MY NAME IS NOT LUI— Wait, isn't that the Virgo key from that quest we did!?"

A plan suddenly formed inside Lucy's head as she recalled the ability of the celestial spirit they faced. "Wait! Can't we dig a hole and make a tunnel to the other side?" shouted Lucy as her shout caught Erza's attention.

"A hole…" muttered Erza in understanding.

Lucy's eyes shone brightly as she immediately reached for the key in Happy's hand. Alas, Happy took it back and left her confused. "Happy?"

Happy looked at Lucy smugly. "I demand fish first!"

"YOU STUPID CAT!? THERE IS A TIME AND PLACE!?"

"No fish, no key!"

"FINE! I'll get you a fish after this quest!" roared Lucy as she glared hole at Happy. How dare this little cat bargain with her at this moment?

Happy looked at Lucy with some thought. "I want the most expensive—"

"Don't push it, cat," said Lucy, her arms crossed as she glared at Happy. The winged cat shrugged and tossed the golden key toward the excited blonde mage until something mind-boggling happened.

The golden key flying in the air was suddenly caught by a fishing hook under the eyes of the wizard of Fairy Tail. They watched as the key disappeared under their eyes.

"Ah"

- Argenti Ovans -

Yeah, I'm sure they will be fine without it!

I held the Virgo key with my trembling hand and excitement, and as much I wanted to invoke it now. I knew better and chucked the key inside my pocket. I still have more fishing to do before I can play with my new reward later.

Still, I never would have thought to have my own loyal and masochist maid in this life. I can finally have someone close to me to talk to.

44 minutes later…

"…"

I silently stared at this merch bundle with the face of this exciting individual for a long time until I threw it away inside the storage.

I silently cast my lines back and stared deeply into the sky.

"Man…"

6 minutes later…

Memory Days Book x1: The book causes a person to go back to a time that they cannot want to remember. However, if someone else touches that person, they will also be transported to the past. The book's effect lasts for six hours; after the six hours pass, the person will be transported back to the present. If the people who touched the original transporter aren't touching them just before the return trip to the present, they will be forced to stay in the past.

Oh my… I'm beyond speechless about this reward. I honestly don't know what to do with such a magical item. Maybe it would be helpful in the future, and I don't think I want to return to the past… for now.

1 minutes later…

Magic Radar x1: A high-tech Magic scanner that allows the user to locate Mages within its radius.

That's neat, but I don't think it's useful for me at all…

5 minutes later…

Strawberry Vanilla Pancakes x4: Regular strawberry vanilla pancakes from a famous shop in Magnolia.

I took a bite of the pancakes as my eyes opened wide. I didn't expect it to taste so good! I'll share them with Summer and her family. I'm sure they'll love them as well.

As I was musing about the incredible taste of the pancakes, the hole that connected to the Fairy Tail world was now gone. I looked helplessly at the water lake surface with some regrets… I was still itchy to pull for more reward, but unfortunately, my semblance wouldn't let me open the portal anymore.

Well, I can only end the first day of fishing in this Forever Fall for now and return tomorrow… Or I can camp somewhere relatively safe so as not to make another long trip here. Moreover, I didn't see any Grimm around here, as Mudkip didn't return either.

"Mudkip! Where are you, friend? We have—" I shouted for my companion to return, noticing it was late. I didn't want to put the tent in the dark. "Mud! Mudkip!" shouted my blue companion as he appeared at my feet like a ninja.

"Whoa! You startled me! Anyway, did you find anything suspicious around here?" I asked, hoping for clues as to where the Grimm who lived here had disappeared. Unfortunately, Mudkip shook his head.

That's a shame but also a great new experience for me. I should exploit this place as much as possible until the owner returns and chases me outside this magnificent area. Also, I don't know if I want to fight against these many Grimm, who even made some professional Huntsman run away with their tail tucked.

I took back my chair and changed my fishing poles into spears. I slowly walked away to find somewhere safe to pitch my tent for the night.

"What are you feeling, Mudkip?"

"Mud! Mudkip!"

"Mmmh, interesting choice… something else with that?"

"Kip! Mudkip! Muudkip"

I nodded in agreement. You can't eat this without that! My Mudkip is a natural gourmet. "Alright! I hope you are hungry because I'll make many of them!"

"MUDKIP!"
