1 Chapter 1

Taylor nervously walked into the hallway. Today was the day the school reopened after the winter break. She hoped that the trio would get bored with her soon enough. She walked on toward her locker. In her way, she noticed some sort of tension, like something was going to happen. Her instincts were screaming at her to just run, ditch the school but she couldn't bring herself to do it. That would be her admitting defeat and she wouldn't lose to the Trio, not now, not ever! She steeled herself and walked on.

In front of her locker, the bitch trio as she referred to them, which include Emma Barnes, Sophia Hess, and Madison Clement and their pack. She tensed as she neared them waiting for the inevitable taunts and jeers. To her surprise, other than the looks of amusement and anticipation. She stepped close to her locker, ignoring the smell, she opened it. Then, it hit her, the smell so strong that it made her brain overloaded with all this information from the nose. In response to the smell, her body reacted by making her dizzy and threw up. She backed off in surprise but a hand grabbed her back and blocked her retreat. She looked back and saw a hand belonging to one Sophia Hess.

Before she could think of something to say, she was pushed into the locker. In a panic, she hit the metal door of the locker with her feeble hands but her hands clearly lacking in the strength department due to malnourishment she had been subjected to in recent months could only strike the door so far. She tasted iron in her mouth.

'Blood,' her barely conscious mind registered. She was screaming so hard that her mouth was vomiting blood but that wasn't registered to her mind as she screamed and screamed and at last, she wasn't anymore.

Taylor Hebert woke up in a white void. She opened her non-existent eyes groggily. As her mind began to regain clarity, she remembered. She remembered her hands bloodied as they banged the locker door, how her throat was torn apart as she screamed, again and again, her fleshes and blood eaten alive hordes of hungry insects as they snacked on her bone. She expected to feel something at the memory, something overwhelming, anger, sadness, despair or whatever. Instead, she felt nothing, just an empty void. She was just there, remained

"Foolish human, of course, you won't be able to feel, after all, you don't have a body," a booming voice laced with amusement. Taylor looked at the newest addition to her void. Even though she didn't have eyes, she instinctively widened her eyes. The creature was massive, enough to rival even stars. Its ruby-like scales were shining in power and absolute strength. Its sheer presence was twisting the space-time itself.

"Wh-who?" She stammered.

"Remember my name, young child of humans, I am Great Red, The True Dragon, Avatar of Dream," the creature said in a voice that shook Taylor to the core.

"I called you here to give you two choices, child, choose wisely. One, become my successor and replace me. Two, remain here in limbo for eternity," the creature declared its ultimatum.

Taylor knew what she had to choose. She refused to be stranded here for eternity but she asked, "What are your intentions?"

"My intentions? Well, simply put, I am bored. As the physical manifestation of Dream, I had existed even before the creation of Existence. In fact, I am the one who gave a portion of dreams to Yahweh, which he later converted into Existence. You got the gist. Anyway, like that, I was bored. The last time something interesting happened was that guy called Samael killing me. He wasn't that strong compared to the old man but his attacks were very effective toward dragons so I got done in. Anyway, I am bored so I am gonna rest for possibly eternity so, take my place, that is the gist," Great Red shrugged.

Taylor stopped in her tracks as she heard its explanation. She looked at the creature with her mouth hanging open. She couldn't believe what she heard. But she had to believe it or she would go insane.

"Wait, if you got killed, how are you still alive?" Taylor asked, confused.

"Pff, if I were to die every time I was killed, I would be dead since long time ago. Since you would take my place soon, I would give you a tip, you can't kill a dream," Great Red said in a mocking tone.

"Okay, I choose the one," Taylor said, staring at the beast.

"Wise choice," the beast chuckled as her world plunged into darkness.

When she woke up, she was in an abandoned warehouse just outside of New York, sleeping amongst the newspapers. She groggily woke up as a part of her was unsealed and her past life was unveiled. She couldn't believe that Great Red could send her back to be reborn in the past. The only problem was that he screwed up. Now, her memories of this life were lost amidst all the chaos that occurred in her head caused by unsealing. She couldn't even remember her name and all that she could remember was that she had abusive parents and two siblings. Her big brother was driven to suicide by her parents and her big sister ran away.

She had to bear the brunt of her parent's frustrations as she was the only one remaining. Finally, she too couldn't withstand this anymore as she grabbed whatever she could and ran away from her home. The later part of her life was a little muddy to her. All she could remember was she was living on the street for years till she was caught up in a random cape fight and got injured. She managed to return to the warehouse she was occupying but she ultimately died by internal bleeding in the end. Now, that she was seeing this from another perspective, she really was unlucky.

She looked at her body, it was covered in dirt and smelled, 'this won't do,' she thought as she created a bath, soap, shampoo, and some clothes. After she was done, she was all good. She was a ten years old girl with sharp facial features which made her seem clever. With her long dirty blonde hair reaching her back and sparkling green eyes, she could be considered a beauty but she was still a child. She went out and walked toward a nearby shop and grabbed a newspaper and a map while leaving a nugget of gold on the counter. She looked at the date and saw that it was already about a week since she had died. She stopped for a moment as she remembered how her past life was killed. But she shrugged it off and continued, her mind blocking all the storm raging in her heart. She opened the map and found the place she wanted to go to.

"Brockton Bay, here I come," She declared.
