Revealing secrets(2)

"I am a reincarnator," Dusk said in a serious tone.

Hearing this both Lucius and Stygian fell silent after hearing Dusk's words.

"Dusk....you seem serious bu-"

"Mr. Nightmoon. What he's saying might be true."

Lucius interrupted Stygian before he could continue. Stygian stared at him with an expectant gaze, hoping for an explanation.

"Besides Dusk's behavior unbefitting of his age. There's actually a few more incidents that would make his claim more believable. One of which would be what happened today..." Lucius looked Dusk's way as if looking for approval before continuing. Dusk appreciated the gesture and nodded in approval.

Lucius explained how Dawn had gone to Darkmooon Grove on her own, later joined by Dusk who went to find her. He told Stygian that the two encountered two mercenaries with ill interventions as well as a troll. But the two were saved by the Knight captain, Paul.

"I see. I should thank him for what he did the next time I meet him. But what does this have to do with Dusk being a reincarnator?" Stygian asked with curiosity.

"That's because although the troll was defeated by Paul. The two mercenaries were already dealt with by the time he arrived. And according to a witness, the one who dealt with them was none other than...Dusk." Lucius explained.

"What? What Tier were they?"

"Tier 3, My lord. And Paul said he believed it was Dusk as well. Because the injuries inflicted on the bodies were knife wounds. The only one who had a knife among those involved was Dusk."

"I....see. But even then, It's a bit hard to believe." Stygian sat there contemplating.

"Yes, since I couldn't see him in action myself I would still be unable to believe this story as well as him being a reincarnator. But there are two more things." Lucius smiled.

"As you know my lord, those who have good mana control can even sense the mana of others. Although achieving this level of control is difficult and usually only pursued by mages, we both can do it. But tell me do you sense any mana from Dusk?"

Stygian stared at Dusk and then fell into thought for a split second before understanding what Lucius meant.

"I see...He's learned to suppress his mana. But that would mean he's reached a level that's only somewhat behind us..."

Dusk didn't know of all this and was intrigued by what he heard. He had a feeling some may be able to sense his mana so he suppressed his own so that his impressive reserves would go unnoticed. But it turned out that suppressing it too much revealed his prowess.

"Yes. Although mana control doesn't equate to strength it is impressive. Now Dusk, if you could discharge your mana then we would know how capable you are."

Dusk nodded and then stood up before discharging his mana. A blue shroud of aura covered his entire body as hair fluttered around from the wind pressure created by the sudden burst of mana.

Some papers and documents from Stygian's desk started flying around due to this. But Stygian was more focused on his son.

"That's... at the level of Tier 3. No above it, even...." Stygian stared at his son in awe.

"Well with this, it really does seem like he took care of the mercenaries and held off a Troll." Lucius found Dusk to be very impressive as well.

"Lucius I see what you mean now. The strength he's reached at his age, is something that defies logic, especially since he doesn't have an instructor or teacher to learn from. But there are a few records where children would have such exceptional growth..."

"...usually when they are reincarnators." Lucius finished for Stygian with a nod.

"It's a weight off my shoulders that Mr. Brightsun has done all the convincing for me. Some things are more believable when the explanation is done by someone other than yourself." Dusk said with a yawn. He was pretty tired from today so he was glad that his workload had decreased.

"But you mentioned there was one other thing that played a part in making my claim more believable?" Dusk asked as he wanted to sate his curiosity.

"Ah, that. Dawn actually asked me what something called "Chips" meant. She said you mentioned it. That's something that isn't really known by most people. At least not the ones of this world." Lucius said with a chuckle.

Dusk, on the other hand, was confused.

"Wait, but then how do you know?" He asked.

"That's because us, Brightsuns are the descendants of a certain reincarnator." Lucius drops a bombshell.

"Ayo what the fu-"

------------------------

After Dusk was told a bit of the history behind the Brighsun family(Which will be explained in the auxiliary volume), the conversation moved to the next stage.

"Now, Dusk. Although I have many questions about you being a reincarnator, I assume you have a reason to tell us this after keeping it secret for so long?" Stygian asked with an expectant gaze.

"Yes. I do." Dusk replied.

When he first came to this world, Dusk never planned revealing his reincarnation to Tellus mater. However, things have changed. Something that had been troubling him ever since his visit to the church. He could recall the propechcy he had heard clearly.

["Aerith Nightmoon is currently outside the human domain. She left you and your father due to dire circumstances that she didn't want to involve you two with. In 14 years, her fate will be to meet her end. If that fate is not altered before that then your world will face much more difficulties in the challenges ahead. That is all I can say."] The goddess's ominous words played in his head repeatedly all this time.

Not wanting to save his so-called mother would be one thing, but Dusk couldn't exactly ignore the possibility of doomsday. And although he had mixed feelings about it, he did feel the urge to go save Aerith as well. Even if it was a desire creating from his soul bonding with her, it was still something that bothered him nonetheless. And he didnt like to feel bothered. So he wanted to get this over with.

But he didn't have the necessary connections, Intel, or even power to set on a journey by himself at the moment. Yet, the time before the fated day was fast approaching. He had already spent around 2 years since the goddess's prophecy. Meaning he had 12 years left. During these 2 years, he tested his rate of growth, increased his strength, and gathered knowledge about this new world. He tried gathering info about his mother as well but he didn't make much progress in that regard.

In the end, he decided that something that concerns the fate of this world would be too much for him to handle alone. Not yet, and probably not later either. This is why he decided to tell two people, that he knew would help if he could make them believe him. Them being his father, Stygian Nightmoon, and the reliable, Lucius Brightsun.

"The reason actually concerns my birth mother of this world and your wife, Aerith Nightmoon."

Hearing this, Stygian and Lucius both looked at Dusk seriously.

Lucius is really out here playing detective. Thanks for the golden tickets and power stones guys!

Also I will update the auxiliary volume about the Brightsun family later!
