A Shadow's Reincarnation

DEAD DEAD DEAD! STOP ADDING THIS TO YOUR LIBRARIES! ___________________________________________________________________ On a certain train sat a certain boy, with average looks. He had his eyes closed as he dozed off while hugging his bag. Earphones were plugged into his ears, silently listening to the music. Just then, the heavy bass music he was listening to suddenly became heavenly zither music that contained the truths of the Heavenly Dao. The boy’s heartbeat followed the loose rhythm of the heavenly tune for a straight minute before having been jolted awake. When the boy's eyelids fluttered open, it was as if the people on the train heard angels weeping and devils laughing. The Heavens shook in fear whereas the Underworld rumbled with joy. As for this boy’s origin, not even the gods & devils dare find out. _____________________________________ Disclaimers: - Ai pic till I can afford to commission an artist. - This is the 2nd continuation of my Magic Martial World series. - It's paused until I finish my diploma this June 2024. _____________________________________ Discord: https://discord.gg/R7nmUAqm

Bell Sound

Upon hearing Daniel's words, Phoenix's face soured.

But, it didn't take long before his mood brightened up again. Why? Because Daniel was speaking facts he couldn't refute.

It was probably because Phoenix had spent too much time together with his fellow angels and saints that he had forgotten the most important rule that serves as the foundation of their beliefs. 'Only the strong may represent the gods.'

This saying was the very foundation that their friend used when he led the group into the Angel Saint War back when they were still mortal.

And it was after the war that he used this saying again to create the Eight Retainer Families of Chaos with them being the first generation of retainers.

Speaking of which, Phoenix suddenly had a thought. 'I wonder whether my Phoenix Clan still exists today…Judging by how peaceful the world was when I died, I'm positive my clan still exists…'

Soon, all the light elements went to sleep and it was time for the darkness elements to take over. Yes, this is how night is formed in Heaven.

Daniel and Logic finished up their spar by exchanging secret techniques with each other, to which it ended in Logic's defeat.

But instead of feeling down, Logic only felt his motivation rising after losing to his friend.

"Just you wait, Daniel. I will beat you the next time we spar." Logic pointed at Daniel and declared loudly, the smile on his face was evident that his fighting spirit only burned brighter due to defeat.

Daniel simply smiled back at Logic before he walked off with Zac.

As for Phoenix, he was happy that the two's bond was getting closer, considering the fact that they were enemies that pointed swords at each other once.

Nonetheless, as long as no conflict arises within the group, Phoenix believes that they can complete Heavenly Dao's challenge with ease.

When morning came, the group had just left the forest and arrived on the main road.

From there, they saw angels flying in the sky while saints riding on their holy beasts heading towards the City of Angels, Michaelis.

Everyone guessed that something big was happening there.

But before Logic could egg his friends to go, the black haired angel with fish scales decorating his wings, Carlos looked up from checking his sword and stared at him with cold eyes.

This in turn, startled Logic since Carlos was known to be a sword maniac who only had eyes towards his sword.

Wielding a longsword made from the bones of a Silver Steel Swordfish, Carlos challenged and defeated countless Martial Angels who were considerably stronger than him with ease.

Years later, when Swordfish Angel had no one left to challenge, he decided to challenge Magic Saints who were famous for controlling nature with their magic.

Alas, the first person he decided to challenge was the dual magic martial cultivator, the Angel Executioner.

The Angel Executioner defeated Carlos with ease since the Swordfish Angel challenged him without any knowledge of how dual magic martial cultivators fight.

After losing, the Swordfish Angel swore loyalty towards the Angel Executioner and soon joined his band of revolutionary fighters consisting of the Saint of Salt, Daniel as well as the Ancient Emperor, Zac.

"What…What are you looking at?" Logic stayed silent for a moment before he finally worked up the courage to ask Carlos. "Is there something on my face?"

"Shush!" Carlos instantly appeared before Logic before he pressed his hand against Logic's mouth.

It was only then did Logic realized that everyone else besides him had become vigilant and were watching their surroundings closely.

Upon closer inspection, Logic noticed that the traffic on the main road had completely disappeared, and instead was replaced with a river of blood.

He became confused.

'Just where did the river of blood appear from? Wasn't I just standing by the side of the main road to Michaelis just moments ago?'

'Did we enter an illusion barrier without noticing? No, that shouldn't happen. Daniel and Vigor are extremely sensitive to changes in the surroundings.'

'If that's the case…Everyone, converge on me. I'll speed up my brain using holy energy to think of a way out.' Putting a serious look, Logic relayed his thoughts to his friends.

Following that, Logic started to formulate various theories in his head while the group slowly converged with him in the middle.

With their brain working, the rest of the angels and saints pulled out their weapons before they each chose a direction to look after.

Phoenix looking at the south, Zac watching the north, Daniel focusing on the east, and Vigor looking at the west.

The group had covered the four directions perfectly while two other angels, the Swordfish Angel, Carlos and the Shield Angel, Fang protected their friend Logic.

Hours passed by with the group remaining in their positions, watching their surroundings with the utmost focus.

There were no birds, no insects, not even clouds could be seen floating in the blue sky above them.

Furthermore, the blood river that was flowing along the main road seemed to grow larger with each passing minute.

Bubbles appeared on the surface of the blood river from time to time, thus allowing Logic to deduce that there was something inside the blood river.

But it has been 3 hours since the blood river appeared before them.

So unless they go into the river to poke around and find out, Logic's deduction was that the being inside the river will not attack them proactively.

"So, besides the thing inside the river of blood, what else have you deduced?" Fang asked as he stroked his silver beard.

Logic opened his eyes before he replied. "We seem to be inside a subspace that connects our foothold to the blood river's origin."

"Meaning?" [Daniel]

"As long as we can find out where that bell sound is coming from, we will be able to get out of here without worries." Logic said with a serious expression.

"Wait wait wait…Bell sound? I don't hear no bell–" [Vigor]

"Doooooong! Doooooong! Doooooong!" Before anyone could react, the soothing sound of a heavenly bell reverberated through their ear drums and into their souls like a wave.

One by one, the blood river started to overflow and was heading towards the group of angels and saints at an alarming rate.

"Everyone, get behind me! I'll protect you guys!" Without missing a beat, Fang brought his arms together before he positioned himself close to the ground.

Silver light erupted around his arms for a moment. And when the light subsided, a great shield twice the size of city gates appeared before Fang.

The others got behind Fang to take cover.

But it was as if the Heavens were against them, it was all for naught.

The moment the blood from the blood river touched Fang's great shield, both Fang and his shield started to glow brightly before the group saw Fang burst into light particles before them.

Seeing that, the group of angels and saints were horrified.

'Just what is that blood river? It nullified Fang's absolute defense element in a matter of seconds and obliterated him. Are we…Are we going to perish in such a pathetic way too?'

Without much resistance, the group was devoured by the blood and turned into light particles before they all dissipated into the air.

So my plat friend outperformed my ascendant friend in a comp game tdy. It was only then did I realize that my ascendant friend can be considered a boosted ascendant lol.
