Chapter 3
As Reily tried to grasp the meaning of those words, a shiver ran through his entire body.
For a moment, everything seemed to slow down around him, as if time itself had stopped to allow what was about to happen.

the heartbeat started to grow stronger.

The beats of his heart began to quicken as it started to pump blood fiercely. He felt a cold sensation penetrate his bones.
His limbs trembled as his body reacted to the icy touch of a foreign liquid spreading through him.
Then, like a tumultuous wave, a wave of heat began to swell inside Reily, as if his blood was burning in his veins.
It was an intense, almost painful sensation, but also extremely pleasurable.
The heat spread rapidly throughout his body, bringing with it a sense of power and vitality. Reily began to perceive physical changes.
His once warm and soft skin became cold and pale, resembling the silvery glow of the moon shining above him.
His limbs seemed to elongate slightly, while his eyes turned a deep red, as if reflecting the inner fire burning within him.
Then, with a subdued hiss, Reily felt his canines elongate, turning into sharp claws emerging from his gums.
His bones cracked as they adapted to his new form, and Reily felt overwhelmed by a mix of conflicting emotions: fear and excitement, pain and pleasure, all mixed together in a tumultuous whirlwind.
His mind began to blur as rationality seemed to be suffocated by a subtle glimmer of instability in his eyes.
Reily felt overwhelmed by an unfamiliar sensation, a hunger that burned like a raging fire inside him. His mouth was dry and his throat as dry as the desert sand.
He felt a thirst so intense it burned like a hellish fire in his chest that consumed him. His eyes, now a dark and penetrating red, settled on the inert body lying nearby, a body that emanated the sweet scent of blood.
Without a second thought, Reily approached the body, feeling his mouth dry and his jaws stiffen in anticipation of nourishment.
With an instinctive movement, he seized the body's neck and lowered his head to the fresh wound, ready to satisfy his insatiable hunger.
The first sip was like an explosion of sensations.
The warm, metallic blood filled his mouth, invading every corner of his being with a primitive yet intoxicating sweetness.
Reily felt a kind of euphoria engulf him as the scarlet liquid flowed down his throat, nourishing his body and soul with a primal life force.
Every drop of blood he swallowed seemed to bring a glimmer of clarity to his clouded mind.
The fog of transformation began to dissipate, and Riley began to regain a shred of rationality.
After an unknown period of time, his blood thirst finally subsided, bringing him back to normal.
As soon as he came to his senses, the first thing he saw was the corpse of the vampire in front of him, and immediately the realization of what had happened struck him.
"What the hell.."
He was shocked by the succession of events that had happened to him in a short time.
He had barely escaped from a crazed vampire, killed him, and became one of them himself, and now this?
He really wondered what he had done to deserve such a fate.
He took a moment to calm down and think carefully about his situation.
Reily knew he was in big trouble. He was glad he had finally unlocked the system, but becoming a vampire?
This was the worst thing that could happen to him.
A vampire, an enemy of the human race, currently living among them, was not the best of situations, especially if he were to be discovered…
"ugh, I don't even want to think about it"
Just thinking about the miserable fate that awaited him if he were discovered terrified him.
Although fewer and fewer vampires were sighted in the last century, people still remained on alert, especially vampire extermination forces, such as the guilds, and the most terrifying one, the church, which had as its main objective, the elimination of any threat to humans, and vampires were obviously first on their priority list.
And as he despaired over the bleak future that awaited him, he suddenly remembered that he hadn't checked the system yet.

Without wasting any more time, he called up the system, and a holographic screen appeared in front of him.

His bad mood was swept away by the sight before him.
At that moment, he saw a thin game-like screen floating in front of him.
The hateful message that previously appeared before him was now replaced by a series of neatly arranged information.
Being a longtime fan of novels with OP characters, who had a "cheat" like an old sage who helped with his knowledge, or broken powers with which to overcome all obstacles, he certainly knew the usefulness of having a "system".
Often during his free time, he fantasized about how nice it would be to have one, and when he saw that he had been transported to a world similar to the novel he was reading, he was excited by the idea of receiving one.
Too bad his excitement was short-lived, as it was crushed by the harsh reality of not being able to access it, and not even knowing how to unlock it.
Now that he could take advantage of this "blessing from heaven" (as he often liked to call it), he knew that his future wouldn't be so bleak after all.
