CHAPTER 22

The first guild missions that Reily undertook were very simple.

He wanted to start with something easy, but soon realized that these missions were already far below his level.

Although these missions were considered rank F, they still didn't involve evolved beasts.

For Reily, who was now at level 5, these missions were quite useless. He had started with hunting missions before moving on to material collection missions.

Thanks to the daily missions, Reily gained basic knowledge of plants, animals, and even minerals.

Completing these daily missions wasn't easy, but once completed, the rewards were more than satisfying to put him in a good mood.

Over time, he learned that the rewards for daily missions focused more on the things he needed at that time.

For a collection mission that required gathering certain types of plants from the forest, the system generated as a reward, [basic knowledge of plants].

The process lasted for a few minutes, and for Reily, that minute was in the form of a massive headache, leaving him half-conscious in the end.

He cursed the system all day because it hadn't informed him of the pain he would experience receiving these missions.

He was so angry because he had learned that information could be learned in small portions, gradually, and this would have spared him from that entire minute of suffering.

To complete that daily mission, he had to find certain types of plants in specific locations in the forest.

He had to inquire from old Frim about where to find these plants to complete the daily mission.

He discovered that the Crimson Dragon Emporium also sold information, so he turned to old Frim, who now knew that Reily was earning enough and didn't hold back from looting him.

And so, in a short time, he managed to build a certain reputation in the adventurers' guild. Increasing his grade from one star to two stars.

On the adventurers' guild card, his adventurer grade was also shown in the top right corner.

It ranged from one star to seven stars, and these grades primarily served to indicate an adventurer's skill.

After the first two stars, to advance to each grade, some basic requirements had to be met (e.g., having a certain rank and completing a mission).

The brunette receptionist, who had assisted Reily when he joined the guild, was amazed at the speed with which the newcomer completed missions.

The boy, on the same evening he obtained his adventurer's license, had completed an F-rank mission several times.

Instead of bringing one or two horns as proof of completing the mission, something that was feasible in half a day, he brought twenty.

She wondered if he had gone to buy them from a shop and then brought them to the guild.

It was a guess, but she also knew that it wasn't possible, given the condition of those horns.

There was a rule that every adventurer had to complete at least one mission within a certain time frame.

For one-star adventurers, it was one week. For two-star adventurers, it was two weeks.

For those with three stars, it was one month, and so on.

If missions weren't completed within the time limit, and there wasn't a valid justification for it, adventurers risked being demoted or having to retake the exam if they were already one star.

However, there wasn't a maximum limit to the number of missions that could be completed per day, so Reily continued to move from one mission to another every day.

This went on for a few days, until Reily decided it was time to try something more difficult.

He stood in front of the mission board, holding a yellowed sheet with a picture of a wolf on it.

[Hunting mission]

DESCRIPTION: A BloodFang of rank F has been spotted in the outer area of the forest. Find the beast and hunt it down.

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETION: Bring the beast's corpse as proof.

REWARDS: 5 silver coins.

BloodFangs were a fairly wild breed of wolves, named for their dark red fur, characteristic of their species.

They were quite troublesome beasts to deal with in groups, as they had good coordination among them.

Reily remembered that he had almost ended up in the clutches of an unevolved BloodFang once.

If it hadn't been for another adventurer who was hunting in that area, he would probably have been torn to shreds.

These beasts were very fast by nature but lacked good defense. This flaw of theirs was compensated for by the fact that they hunted in groups most of the time.

Reily chose this monster as his first hunting target because he thought it might be a suitable challenge for his current strength.

Reily had mainly focused his VP on strength and agility, and after the encounter with the examiner, he was confident enough to keep up with that beast.

He was close to reaching level 6.

With his missions over the past few days, he had managed to significantly raise the EXP bar, but he realized that hunting non-evolved beasts would take a long time to level up, so now that he was strong enough, he felt ready to hunt an evolved beast.

So, he proceeded to the reception and registered for the mission.

Just as he was heading towards the guild's exit, he came across a familiar person.

The person had just entered the guild, followed by another person.

It was a gilrs with golden hair and emerald green eyes. She wore a green wizard robe and held a brown wooden scepter with a small red sphere embedded on top.

The person was none other than Clarisse.

He hadn't seen her since the day of the incident.

Since that day, Reily had continued his usual hunting routine, and following his registration with the guild, he was always busy completing missions back and forth, so he hadn't had many opportunities

 to meet her.

Not seeing her in these days, he thought she was abstaining from doing missions, waiting for her friend to recover.

In fact, the person who had entered with her was the archer girl.
