Assuarnce

Alex, remained at Sapphire's door for more than ten minutes, he thought that if he took a single step away she would disappear and that was the last thing he wanted to happen. Afterall, he had just found her and the thought of losing his precious daughter again was heartbreaking.

Sapphire although tired seemed to have sensed that her father was still lingering by the door. She opened the door quietly and found the man just staring ahead lost in his thoughts. Sapphire's heart clenched in happiness. She finally had a father who seemed very reluctant o even let her be alone on the first day in a new environment. She couldn't ask for more. She just knows little about him, but she already tell that she loves her father and her new family to bits. He was her saving grace and she would treasure him for the rest of her life.

"Dad." Alex woke up from his dazed state when Sapphire called.

"Oh!, ummm, sorry. Did I wake you?" Alex was a little flustered for being caught by his own daughter just standing outside her bedroom door.

"No, I hadn't even slept yet." Sapphire paused and looked at him with a small smile on her pretty face. "You should go and rest too, I'm sure you had along day. Don't worry about me dad, I'll be here with you. I'm not going anywhere." She felt that she needed to reassure him.

"Ok, my Rose. Goodnight." It was as if Alex needed to hear those words because the weight was lifted off his shoulders. "You go rest first, I still have to talk to your grandparents. See you tomorrow." He left soon afterwards.

Sapphire watched him till he disappeared down the long hallway. She sighed tiredly and went back to her room. Everything in the room was perfectly arranged in specific order. She really wanted to explore the majestic room, but she opted to do that after she took a shower. She headed to the ensuite bathroom that had a very large marble jacuzzi. the jacuzzi looked really welcoming, but she knew that if she were to take a bath she would end up sleeping in it and she couldn't risk catching a cold in her condition.

Thirty minutes later, Sapphire came out of the bathroom freshly showered and a large towel wrapped around her petite pregnant frame. She took her duffel bag and picked out her sleeping wear before she went to bed.

The bed was soft and fluffy, she had never been so comfortable in her entire life. No wonder she was off to dream land in no time. She simply slept like a baby.

After Alex made sure Sapphire was doing fine, he went straight to his study where all the family members were waiting. Before he could even sit down, everyone was firing questions at him. Everyone was talking over the other making it difficult for Alex to understand anything, he just sat massaging his temples looking exasperated.

"Shut up!" It was Alcander who came to the rescue after he couldn't handle the noise any longer."Please, one at a time, my granddaughter is resting and i don't want her to think that we are a bunch of hooligans." That made everyone quiet down.

Alex sighed and answered the question on everyone's mind. "Sapphire is fine, she settled in well and she seems happy."

Emma let out a sigh of relief. "That's good. Can't imagine what she has been through, but those were the dark days and now they are over. All we can do now is give her love and the support she never had." Everyone agreed with the lady's words.

"How long are you planning on staying in Los Angeles because you still have a company to run." Alcander finally asked after a long silence.

"We'll head out in a week's time, I still have to arrange for Sapphire's school. I don't know whether she'll prefer being homeschooled or going to school itself, i will have to ask for her opinion. Then there is the Fontana family to deal with, I am sure they will come knocking on our doors tomorrow morning because i am sure that us returning to this house has already spread in this neighbourhood." Alex answered.

"Speaking of the Fontanas, is Bryan Fontana still pushing for the partnership?" Alcander asked in a cold voice. He couldn't stand that family knowing what they put his precious granddaughter through.

"Yes, dad. That's why I'm sure he will come here together with his family in the name of welcoming us to the neighbourhood. My guess is that they want to get in our good graces." Alex said.

"What's the point?" Andrew who had been surprisingly quiet throughout the conversation finally butted in. " They are already in our bad graces, I'm sure that my brother here is already planning on how to deal with them."

"But they do not know that stupid Andrew." Amethyst said while rolling her eyes.

"Hey!" Andrew exclaimed offendedly.

"Not now you two." Alex stopped them before it was too late. He knew that when his siblings started bickering, it could take the whole day. "I'm off to bed, tomorrow i am taking my daughter for her regular appointment." He said this while heading for the door. "Alone Amethyst, I want to get to know my daughter well. Have a father daughter one on one or something like that." He added when he clearly saw that his sister was about to suggest she joins them tomorrow.

Amethyst could only sadly pout.

Alex went straight to the third floor after leaving the study. He quietly opened Sapphire's door and saw her sleeping peacefully. He happily sighed, closed the door and happily swaggered to his room. You could practically see the bounce in his steps.

It was enough to say this is day he had in a long time.
