"It's none of your business, Kara," Konrad responded as he went past the woman. He was in a hurry to make his way back to his deck, perfectly aware of the shot of aggravation that he had given her. 

Kara followed his back with a piercing gaze as the grip that she had on the handle of her bag tightened. She then pursed her lips to try and hamper her impending outburst, but her heart refused to cooperate with her mind. Still, she swallowed, again and again, to gather her composure. No matter what, she didn't want to appear as if she was being a disobliging misfit, or worse, a jealous wife.
