Prologue: The Book And Reincarnation

[A/N: The following is a story about how Dazai Osamu of Bungou stray Dogs - BEAST Died (And reincarnated in Tensura as Diablo). I put this here since BEAST is very under-hyped.

You might have seen BSD but the BEAST version of it? (which has a frikin sharp art style btw). Read the manga guys, even if they don't have any colors, masterpieces are still masterpieces... Live actions failed my expectations.]

Are you aware of the "Book"?

No... Not the general term you'd call any book. But an unparalleled "Book", the only one in the world.

A blank book in which what you write is said to become reality.

However, although I say what's written in it will become reality, it doesn't strictly work like that.

The "Book" is close to the source of this world.

Due to the innumerable possible worlds, all the choices and the variety of conditions, the possibilities of infinitely branching worlds are all folded up within it.

The moment something is written down in the pages of the "Book", the world that complies with what is written gets "summoned".

The possible worlds from within the "Book" switches place with the real world.

In other words, the "World" is the one physical world that exists outside the book.

"The world outside the book" and "The worlds within the book" it points at this infinite number and one.

The world I was living in, is a perfect example of that.

That is to say this is nothing more than one world amid the infinity of worlds within the book.

But regardless... This world is just as strong as the one "outside".

Reality is still reality after all.

As evidence for that, the "Book closely related to the source of the world exists in this world as well... Though, the "Book" in this world is like a street glitter.

In response to a command from the outside world, the book would rewrite and destroy this world.

But how in the world... No, in the "Worlds" Do I know of that?

My name is Dazai Osamu.

My "Gift", 『No Longer Human』 has the ability to nullify other Gifts...

And using that nullification ability, I activated a singularity... And forced a connection between the division of worlds.

I succeeded in obtaining the memories of the me outside the "Book". In other words, the original me.

Many organizations like the Guilds and the Rats would come to Yokohama, the city I lived in, in search of the "Book".

Would they get their hands on it, our world will disappear.

Therefore I forged a plan.

Atsushi was the light.

And Akutagawa was the darkness.

But now their role is switched.

Akutagawa joined the detective agency while I invited Atsushi to the port mafia as my subordinate.

The plan was a success.

I was trying to correct Akutagawa's object of resentment.

And I was trying to relieve Atsushi out from his guilt.

Of course I can't do it myself, that's why--- following the original's memories, I made both side clashed.

And by fighting, they concluded that they were not very different from each other.

Both orphans, struggled to live, and carried hatred deep down in their hearts.

With this, when the world really needs it, they will join forces to protect the world.

It has been a vast plan... Massive enough to make one lightheaded.

"Why are you fixated on this world to that extent?"

Fixated? Does it seem to be the right word?

No...

Hold dear?

Also no...

It's more of because of a friend.

That's right, this is the only reality where Odasaku lives... He joins the agency, and becomes a writer.

I can't let a world like that disappear now can't I?

Ahh~

It's the long-awaited moment. I can't wait.

Truly, I can't wait.

But you know- I do have a regret, Odasaku.

That I'll never be able to read the novel you will one day finish.

Maybe this kind of ending...

--- Dazai Osamu(???)'s POV ---

The moment I open my eyes... Darkness.

Darkness everywhere.

I met 6 people throughout the realm I figured was the "afterlife" just right after.

Powers flow within me.

And my thoughts are thinking faster than normal...

At some point, we agreed to give ourselves a temporary "name".

The lass with purple hair is Violet.

The blonde girl is Jaune.

A white-haired woman has "Blanc" as her alias.

The woman representing blue and green choose the name "Bleu" And "Vert" Respectively.

The Red-haired battle maniac has "Rouge" As his alias.

And finally, my unofficial name was Noir.

Later we found out about what we are.

We are demons.

We are spiritual beings, meaning we do not need a such thing as a "Material Body" To stay alive.

That, is quite unsettling...

I stay around in the underworld for quite a while, each day devouring other lesser demons who were just born.

I don't really have the desire to get stronger myself, but it was my nature as a demon that turned me into this state.

Unsettling...

Before I knew it, I finally had the opportunity to go to the "Cardinal World" as Rouge liked to call it.

Demons are the embodiment of "Evil", but despite that fact, they are apparently being summoned by the humans since they're convenient- Ah, sorry... "We" are convenient.

My manifestation into the Cardinal world was not through summoning, but through my own power and intelligence.

There I met Rouge, apparently he had the name "Guy Crimson" and now served as the Arbitrator of the Cardinal World.

He is the counter force that will stop humans from being too prideful and destroying their world...

To be fair, humans aren't the only ones you should take care of.

"Would you like to serve under me?" As such, Guy needs subordinates now that he forge a game of chess between him and Rudra, the human hero.

All I want to do, is to see if this world is worth living in it.

But just as I was getting my hopes up I just had to hear about it...

Their game of chess will involve the whole world and eons of deaths for the longest time.

Doesn't seem like a nice world don't you think?

"No... But I do take souls. All prices are negotiable, except over time." I declined his offer politely.

"We can't have that now, can't we? I don't use anyone who's not loyal to me." Guy stated.

"Is that so? Then your loss. I don't seem to like being in this world at all, so I'll be going back."

"What, many of our kind seek to become powerful through the human's sacrifice or they'll just cause trouble for their entertainment... You're as weird as ever, Noir"

"I don't find living in a world where anything I would never want to lose always disappears at the end of the day...

There's nothing worth pursuing something at the cost of prolonging life of suffering.

As such, I find terrorizing the lessers back in the underworld much more interesting." I stated thus.

This world... I don't like it the slightest bit.

Author's Notes:

Tensura has two different storylines. In WN where Yuki becomes the main villain.

And LN where... The main villain is not confirmed yet.

CMIIW but, I don't see the Rosso family being stated in the Wn.

They do state who was the owner of the unique skill, Greed, Mariable Rosso.

Though, the story just jumped to; Yuuki having Greed, and he kidnaps the nameless hero from Luminous's place who was going to be Chloe in the future, then tried to control Chloe even though it ends up turning Chloe into a genie without a lamp (Yuuki can wish three things for her).

The Ln, however, takes turn into a whole different story.

But I'll just go and mix things up here.

That would make things easier, especially for the fact that this is a fanfic.

Oh, and by the way, the Alternate translation for Great Wiseman skill is "Seeker". Exactly why he got the skill when MC contemplated "Is not exactly what I was seeking."

Almost the same with "Great Sage" Being "Wise one".

Shapeshifter is Degenerate (skills to break down skill tree and create new skills), even though the Ln uses " Deviant" Instead.

Hinata's 『Mathematician』 is translated as 『Measurer』

Many skills are named after professions or the nature of something.

Even though the evolution tree of a human is "Sage/enlightened" There's also a skill called "Sage".

It's a bit confusing...

Ryuujin means "Dragon people" So you might think it has the same meaning as Dragonoid, but no!

It gets translated as "Dragonewts" Instead!!

Kijin basically means "Ki-something people" But boy, you just have to translate it to "Oni"

Majin? The "Jin" Is always the "people" Here, so I'm gonna presume the "Ma" (In Japanese means "demonic") As Magic instead, because it can also be seen that way.

Majutsu means "Magic techniques" After all so, Magic People??? No. "Magic born" Is much more appropriate.

Fuse-sensei... Why must you test me like this? :)
