Bernice strolled into the clinic almost two hours later than usual. She frowned when she saw Helen hand money to Peter. She put her hands on hips and was about to make some snide comment when Russell wandered in. Peter walked over to him and handed him the money.
“Bernice, you have a beautiful glow on your face. If I didn’t already know it, I’d say my father must be an amazing cook.” He wiggled his eyebrows. “I passed him leaving here when I drove in. I thought you started work earlier than this. I won’t ask questions. Dad will tell me all later.”
Bernice laughed and turned to Peter. “Darling, if your man is as built and skilled as his father, I know your relationship will last a lifetime. Russell’s father is totally amazing. He’s a perfect gentleman with his clothes on and a skillful lover without.”
