11 A Rat and Green Things

The rat scurried into the forest at high speeds; it accidentally ran through a tree at some point. The rat stopped to assess the situation, it was in a kingdom, it's now in a forest. Neat. The rat went to check its status and noticed something.

The rat had plenty of unused Sp! It could get quite the good skill with this amount of Sp! It then proceeded to search through the skills and saw a good one!

[Regen Enhance]

[Increases the amount healed per second to 1]

[Cost: 5 Sp]

This is pretty good! It costs a lot and the regen is only 1 per second, but with higher levels it the rate will surely go up! The rat for the first time in its life is making an investment; the rat is getting an okay skill now in hopes it will get better. The rat purchases the skill and takes one last look at its status, satisfied with its new power it shifts its focus on the area it's in. It's a dark forest with beautiful green leaves. Rays of sunlight pierce through that emerald canopy making it look bright and inviting. The rat scuttles around for a while looking for any sign of life. The first thing the rat sees is a small, white, fluffy tail. The owner of this tail is a small white rabbit, about the same size or a little smaller than the rat.

The rat immediately finds a dark spot in this mystical forest and activates [Presence Erase]. It creeps along the edges of light, inching closer and closer to the rabbit. From here it can see this rabbit is actually a monster. This is a Horned Rabbit, a low-ranked monster rabbit with a sharp pointy horn protruding from its head. They use their jumping ability to launch at others with their horn. This tactic is similar to a certain rat creeping behind it. The rat charges up its powerful legs without using any skills other than [Shadow Enhancement] and [Shade Absorb]. The rat lunges from behind the rabbit and uses [Crush] when in reach of the rabbit's back. The rat's jaws crush the rabbit's spine, cutting off control to its lower legs. It attempts to run away but can't move with only the weaker front paws. As the crimson blood drips down the white fur of the rabbit, the rat walks to the neck of the rabbit and uses the ordinary scratch feature of [Distant Scratch]. The rat severs the rabbit's head from its body cleanly.

[Congratulations, you have killed a Horned Rabbit!]

[Skills: Crunch, Shadow Enhancement, Shade Absorb, Distant Scratch, and Presence Erase have leveled up!]

[You have leveled up!]

The rat was surprised by this level up message.; only one monster? A weak one at that! Then it remembered it was back to being a low level. In addition, wasn't the Sp and Ap gained quite low? Only 1 and 5? What's up with that? Maybe it was a result of being a higher ranked species. Possibly… oh well, no reason to dwell on it!

The rat goes and inspects its kill; the rabbit seems to be the rat on the surface. Both creatures are the weakest in their environment. The rat enjoys this delicious meal, it's much better than the creatures in the sewers… well except for the slime. The slime had this slippery texture and was refreshing to eat. It didn't really satisfy the hunger of the rat but did quench its thirst. It ate up the rabbit only leaving behind the bones and some meat attached to them. It wandered throughout the forest with [Presence Erase] constantly on. The evolved skills were so useful! [Presence Erase] removes the cost of using St while moving!

While wandering about the forest it found some tracks. These tracks were vaguely human in shape, maybe a little bigger? Of course the rat only barely remembered a human's shape, let alone foot size! That doesn't matter, what does is where is this new prey? The rat followed the tracks while hiding in the shadows. It eventually came across an area where two different tracks met up. It looks like it is traveling in a group now. It followed them to where it looks like a fight took place. A horn shaped stab wound was in a tree so the creatures probably fought with a Horned Rabbit. The rat kept on following these tracks and finally set its eyes upon the monster's camp. The rat climbed a tree to get a better look at it all. The rat saw these small, short, frail, green humanoids. There were many of them wandering about and talking in a foreign language. These were Goblins, one of the weaker creatures. Alone that is. Individually they held little strength, but in a large group they could wipe out a village. Their high breeding rates really helped them in maintaining their species. Adventurers say when you kill one goblin ten more come from nowhere. In other words, a shit-ton of XP!
