24 Vulcan

I gave Gaia an oran berry to speed up her recovery a little while the elder Entei walked over the the knocked out youngster and began looking it over. After it was satisfied with it's inspection it held a paw over the unconscious Entei and began to glow red as it used it's aura to slowly heal it. I watched this process like a hawk in hopes of getting any hint at how to do the same thing myself. I was naturally aware that I lacked the amount of aura necessary to even attempt to copy what I was seeing but that won't always be the case.-

Plus let's be honest right now I very much doubt I am likely to ever get the opportunity to watch another aura user in action. In the games I played before I arrived in this world I had only seen literally one in the form of the dude who gives you the egg with the Riolu in it. Compared to the sheer amount of psychics I saw it was pretty fucking clear to me which was easier to learn. I'm not saying one is better than the other or anything but just that psychics were far more common than aura users.-

It didn't take long at all for the knocked out Entei to begin to stir under the helping hand of it's elder which showed the sheer durability of a legendary if nothing else. Even after waking up the younger Entei didn't get up but stayed down while it got healed. If the expression it was making was any indication it had been chewed out by the elder for it's reckless way of fighting. Despite the way their faces were shaped the legendary was actually pretty expressive all things considered.-

I wasn't an arrogant prick though and offered the younger Entei an oran berry as well. It looked confused at me when I did like it was a strange way to act. The elder slapped the younger one across the head however when it did. 'Stop being stupid and take the damn berry.' I heard in my head as the elder scolded the younger one. It was rather funny to be honest and I had to stop myself from laughing. The younger Entei did take the berry though in the end so all was well in that case.-

The elder had told me that the newborn members of it's species needed guidance but I hadn't thought it was this bad. From what I could see this younger Entei was both impulsive and a bit arrogant. Honestly speaking if or rather when at this point this Entei joins my team I will need to break it of that mindset to a degree. I'm fine with pride as both Gaia and myself are prideful but I won't accept flat out arrogance especially when it makes you think getting help from someone who beat you is weird. That sort of attitude won't earn you any real friends but plenty of enemies.-

Once the younger Entei was decently healed and Gaia no longer looked like someone snapped a bat over her back we got straight to business. 'The young one has agreed that you are worthy of guiding it in the future.' The elder spoke and the younger one nodded in agreement. 'Do you have one of those balls your people use to create a bond with pokemon?' The elder asked and I nodded before digging in my bag for one of the five pokeballs I had. Taking it out I tossed it over to the Entei.-

"Just tap the white button in the middle and the ball will do the rest so long as you don't resist." I said with a wide smile. I couldn't help but be happy at the thought of having a legendary on my team. The best part had to be the typing as a powerful fire type is always a mainstay on any team I build in the games. The younger Entei nods in understanding before raising it's right paw an tapping the button gently. A bright red light covers it's whole body before getting sucked into the ball that shakes for a moment before settling neatly on the ground.-

Walking over I pick up the ball and immediately feel the connection between myself and the Entei form. Smiling I release if from the ball "Welcome to the team , now then before anything else we need to give you a name so I am not constantly calling you by your species." I say happily. It looks at the older legendary who merely nods in agreement with me. "En! ENTEI!" the younger one says loudly and through my new bond I roughly translate it to powerful.-

I laugh at this "Did you know when I asked Gaia what sort of name she wanted she said the same thing pretty much?" I asked with a smile. The Entei looked surprised to hear this and looked at Gaia but she looked away embarrassed to be exposed like that. "With her I named her after the titan goddess of the earth so how about Vulcan the god of volcanoes?" I suggested and the Entei's eyes lit up eagerly "En!" Vulcan said while nodding in agreement. "Vulcan it is then , may we worked together to rise to such heights the whole world remembers our names!" I say with a wide grin as I held my hand out.-

Vulcan rested it's paw on my hand "ENTEI!" it roared enthusiastically which I roughly translated to "let's do it!" through our bond. The elder was happy to see this and decided that it's business here was done with this and left. Once I was alone with just me , Gaia and Vulcan I explained my system and how it worked to Vulcan leaving it speechless. I keep referring to Vulcan as it because the way it's species is born they simply don't have genders so he or she simply doesn't apply.-

After returning to the cave I accepted the quest rewards getting me five item tickets , an ability ticket and a guaranteed skill ticket. I of course used the last of those immediately which brought up a list of all the skills on the wheel. I chose the most useful skill I could find at the moment given my sudden increase in food expenses , foraging. The familiar rush of information was a complicated as all hell but at least now I had a rough way to determine what was edible or not plant wise.-

After that came the ability ticket and I prayed to RNGESUS that it wasn't another thing like improved body v1. The wheel spun and spun for a whole minute before slowing down and landing on what had to be a horrible ability , emotion suppression. It did exactly what I thought it did and I didn't know weather to laugh or cry about it. Basically if I wanted to I can turn off all of my emotions and become a cold unfeeling thinking machine. -

I won't lie and say this probably has it's uses in this world but I doubt I will need it much. All that was left at that point was the item tickets so I did those as well and saw if my luck was just that drained after getting an Entei on my team. Metal powder , max potion , sacred ash , a pokenav and nevermelt ice. As it turns out I did not use up all my luck , that or RNGESUS was smiling down upon me this day.
