A Psychopath's Diary: A LITRPG Apocalypse Story

There are many ways to look at the world when the law breaks down and everyone is free from the shackles that bind them. What would the world look like, in the Dark Ages? Lukas is an office worker, just a friendly neighborhood psychopath who despises the bad name T.V documentaries have given to those with this terrible mental illness... ... ...Okay so maybe he didn't care all that much, but when push comes to shove, and his life hangs in the balance, he could surely find ways to survive. Well if meant dooming Humanity, it wasn't his problem to begin with... ----------------------------------------- AN- What could be expected from this story? +A realistically Selfish/Evil MC +A New Post Apocalyptic World +Solo adventure +Technology will be integrated as a Class.  +Hopefully Intresting/Different/Diverse Charactes. +Hopefully consistent release +A lot of delightful Blue Boxes (Not too much though!) -I don't think I'll include Romance, at least not in the traditional Love/Hate relationship. Updated Daily!

Spreading Rumors! Part-1

{At the Nexus Hub}

'The stats difference between the classes is a bit too much, so for most people, there is no point in even looking for the lower grade classes... but then again even if I ignore that and pick out a low-grade class the stats aren't my kryptonite. But it would be nice to not have to grind for stats too...' Lukas thought as he stared at all the classes, he looked through the descriptions of almost all of them only skipping the most common ones.

'What I need is to see what extra abilities the class provides since the stats are kind of meh... being any normal mage would simply make my dagger worthless in a sense, all I would be able to do with it would be a sneak attack and use it as an escape ability.' Lukas thought.

Each class had its advantage he was sure but upon closely reading and analyzing the descriptions the difference between the things described in the higher-level classes was a lot more appealing than simply being a fire mage and having a bonus effect for maxing out a Fire element skill.

'Maybe at high levels, these skills could transform into effective ways of combat itself but right now it doesn't seem worth it.' Lukas thought, even the space mage. The best Mage class, besides the Epic-rated one, which is available to him that apparently would allow him to control every battlefield and cut through even the toughest of armor through space-based attacks.

'It pales in comparison to the Space Hopper class that talks about the laws of space in its description... but even that one is a little worse than the Space-Time Mage...' The allure of Space-time was a little much, while Lukas hasn't been a nerd who was always lost in the thoughts of what ifs.

The possibility of a 4-dimensional being being real was a bit frightening, and the class mentioned these unreachable realms 2 times. The only problem he had with that was the class talked about an unreachable realm, if going forward the class forces him to change his race so that he can better utilize the power it grants as the body of a 3-dimensional race is not enough.

'Then that would be a problem... my whole character and my plans revolve around the Psychopath title. In a new world governed by strength, if all my stats are always higher than my opponents then I would always have a better chance of survival...'

Lukas was lost in his thoughts as he went into a zone, it's a thing that he likes to do when faced with important choices. His goal his entire life has always been to pursue efficiency, with no morals and empathy to slow him down his decisions have always been about just himself and how he could get the biggest advantage.

Although everyone in the world was like that, what Lukas prided himself on was the fact that he was better at being selfish. That was it. And just for that, he was labeled a Psychopath...

'Let's look at it one at a time, Void summoner sounds okay. The class doesn't have any advantages or disadvantages from the way I look at this. Having helpers that can be controlled and used as a meat shield would be nice, but I could have the same thing by learning the skills of the summoner class with Unsullied...' Lukas thought, he kept a tally in his mind as he compared the Unique and Epic rated class against each other.

'I like the Space-time mage class a lot, but the unpredictability about the future is a bit too uncertain, I don't mind reasonable risks but to come in contact with 'the existence of beings beyond your comprehension' doesn't seem like a good idea.'

'And lastly, the Devourer class. It was a class that perfectly suits my title, I have a title that encourages me to kill members of my own race to become stronger. So it was the perfect class for one vs many situations except I don't want to fight against an army. If there is something like a crusade that happens against me I would most likely run away. Choosing this class was like preparing for the worst, where you expect to kill so much that you drag on the hatred of the whole race upon you...'

Lukas debated some more before he finally clicked on the [Unsullied{Unique}], it was the most generic class in terms of status description. It had to compete against literally being a space-time god but it won because of a simple reason.

...

[Unsullied {Unique}: All your affinities are in perfect balance with each other. You can learn all the skills and choose any sub-class. You combine the various elements themselves to make devastating combos that could wreak havoc on a battlefield.

+3PHY +3 REF +3 VIS +3 Mana +3 Soul per level

!{Class drawn due to the effect of the Pioneer title}]

...

'It allows me to learn any skill I can get my hands on... the fact that it was linked to a growth title also played a hefty part.' Lukas thought as the panel in front of him vanished and the nexus crystal started glowing purple.

Lukas hasn't been in contact with Mana much and the mana that has begun to manifest in his body wasn't much so it hadn't felt real till now. He could feel the heaviness of the mana that was collecting over the nexus hub like a blob.

All of a sudden the blob accelerated and hit him in the chest before it vanished inside of him.

...

...Lukas didn't feel like anything was different but then the barrage of notifications that he was expecting came.

...

'It's the milestones again, I feel like every major route that the tutorial expects us to hit has a milestone reward attached to it, and the person who has been collecting all of these has been building up an advantage... I wonder if I could even get to level 10 first or did someone already achieved that... but then again it won't necessarily be a...' Lukas got lost in his thoughts as the notifications kept ringing, he kept an eye out but everything was pretty standard until the skills related to his new class were added.

The energy that had previously seeped into Lukas bloomed as he slightly hunched over and he could feel himself getting stronger. In addition to that, a strange energy started flowing through his body. Lukas could feel it as it suddenly rushed all over the place and then the feeling of enlightenment vanished and he felt normal.

He could still feel like the strength in his body was several times that of before, while that could also be attributed to the fact that he just got at least 15 points in all his stats, it might also be because of the mana that he could now feel flowing throughout his body.

'It's not like I couldn't feel it before but the one time I used it my focus was on the fact that I was disappearing into my own shadow.' While Lukas was examining his body the notifications kept on ringing.

[Attributes lost due to achievement gain refunded]

'It is a mage-type class like I suspected...' At least the skills are more burst damage-focused.

The nexus crystal was dim and the light from the purple door was shining from behind Lukas. He left the crystal and walked back, the suction effect of the door was still there but Lukas ignored that as he walked out of the building.

He took a deep breath as he walked out of the room, there were several people still around the fire mage but his attention was focused on the soldiers whose eyes were focused on his figure.

The man looked sharp as his eyes were trailed over Lukas's figure, their eyes met and Lukas realized that he didn't have a lot of options right now. He could escape of course but that would be even more suspicious and he wasn't ready to tear face with the world government yet.

'Though I don't know how the world will be in 30 days when we return, the only people on Earth right now are kids who are below 16 years old and adults who are over 50... I'm not too optimistic about the world surviving till we return.' Lukas thought as he finally walked down the last flight of stairs.

[Brandon Harris Lv-4]

Brandon had his hands behind his back as he stood in a non-threatening posture, as soon as Lukas arrived in front of him Brandon respectfully greeted, "Hello sir good evening! My name is Brandon Harris I am an officer of the U.S. military."

"Hello officer," Lukas waved awkwardly he kept his voice an octave higher gathering the attention of the nearby crowd, "what can I do for you today?" he politely asked.

"I just have some questions that if you could answer would be very helpful," Brandon replied, his stoic face didn't move an inch in the face of Lukas's acting.

"Well, okay I guess... I'm just in a little hurry you see with the changes and all," Lukas shrugged.

"Why in a hurry this is a safe zone," Brandon prodded.

Lukas pretended to hesitate then he focused his eyes on the stars patched along the officer's shirt, he sighed and replied, "Well you see I was the first one to arrive in the tutorial village and I got a lot of Exp for that, that's why I'm so high level..." Lukas spoke as he pointed at the top of his head.

"I get 3 silvers daily-" he could hear the collective intake of breath that happened to everyone as the whispering started, "...and according to common sense since this place is a village, then that means there should at least be a tutorial town or even a tutorial city at the center of this maze," Lukas spoke and he could see quite a lot of people nod in agreement but a lot of them looked doubtful.

'Heh, go on I don't want all of you to just sit in this village twiddling your thumbs waiting for rescue when even the military personnel are stuck here...'

AN- I went ahead and wrote too much again so I'll have to break this chapter into two.

P.S.- The story now has over 15k words, how do you like it thus far, did I make it too OP?
