5 Chapter 5

"Yeah?"

"Uhm, I live next door and.. I could hear noises coming from your appartment. Is everything alright?"

She looked young.. around my age and was sweating from the summer heat. Dressed in a plane T-shirt that barely covered her breasts and shorts, she was either doing a workout or moving around some stuff.

"Huh? Oh! Did I wake you up?"

"Yea.. Kinda."

"Oh.. Sorry.. I just moved in.. last night and some of my furniture just arrived due to some delay with the shipping company and now it's a big mess!"

She was clearly bewildered and apologetic, given the look on her face. I sighed and said, "Alright. I'm already up so.. I am available to help you with your stuff."

She perked up and immediately welcomed me inside her appartment. It was truly a huge mess. I quickly got busy with lifting the furniture up and setting it in accordance with her instructions.

She was taken aback for an instant by how easily I was doing what she had been trying to do for an hour. But, she probably ruled it out to be part of my quirk.

'Can't even impress girls with strength in this world... What a bummer.'

I helped her place the furniture and clean the appartment till it was almost shining like marble.

She bounced on her feet as she looked at her appartment with a smile, her eyes shining with glee and excitement. Inquisitive, I asked her, "This is your first appartment?"

Her smile remained as she bounced and looked me.

"Umu! I just joined the Musutafu School of Acting! It's one of the best acting schools in Japan! I was very excited about starting my classes, but, this was really putting a damper on my mood. Thank you! I could not have done this without your help!"

Her excitement and innocence brought a smile to my face as I replied, "You're welcome! I wasn't able to sleep, so... Anyway, this was a good workout for me!"

She laughed a little seeing my shirt drenched in sweat and said, "Would you like some refreshment? I bought some chilled beer from the nearby store. It must have gotten warmer, but, I suppose we can still drink it!"

"Uh.. Beer? In the morning?"

Her face flushed a little and she scratched the back of her in embarrassment. To be honest, she looked ever prettier.

"Sorry.. I tend to forget that beer affects people. It has no effect on me. I just drink it for the taste."

Intrigued, I asked, "May I know what your quirk does?"

"Sure! My quirk gives me immunity from anything foreign that disturbs my body functioning! So, beer, vodka, sake, scotch... nothing works on me! I just drink them for the taste. Although, coffee or tea also has no effect so my quirk is kind of a double edged sword. One day, when I was little, I got stung by a jelly fish..."

While she was reminiscing, I had gone to a different tangent altogether.

'... Does this mean my pheromones won't affect her? Hmm. I'm sweating so much, yet, she's not having any reaction, at all... aside from the ocasional glance at my pectorals and my abdominal muscles. Right when I was thinking of gaining control over it, when I was craving for friendship and a genuine relationship with a girl, she appears in my life. What a cliché, yet, welcome event.'

"... The doctors were really shocked. They said that I developed immunity to the jelly fish's poison the moment it entered my blood."

Suddenly, the alarm went off on my phone.

"Ah! It's 6:30 already!"

She gasped and exclaimed, "I-I need to take a bath and make myself a breakfast! I-I'll be late on my first day of college!"

I raised my hands and said, "Hey, no need to worry. I made hot-pot last night and there's a lot of it still left. Way more than what I can eat. How about this? Freshen up and knock on the door of my appartment. You won't need to cook, so, you'll save time."

Her mood bounced back and she cheerily exclaimed, "Really?! Thank you thank you thank you! I heard my teacher is very strict about punctuality and I can't afford to be late. You just saved me!"

I smiled again and said, "It's not a problem, at all. My appartment is number 183, Asui Tozen. See ya in.. half an hour?"

"Sure! I'm Sunao Unyuu!"

I quickly took a shower... without wasting any time with using.. uhm.. conditioner..

I was a good cook in my last life. I had to learn it during the pandemic while I was stuck with my sister and her husband because of COVID 19 lockdown.

It took me less than ten minutes to freshen up and then get dressed.

At ten minutes to seven, Unyuu knocked on the door.

"Asui-san?"

"Ah, come in, Sunao-san!"

"Thanks! Hmm! It smells so good!"

"Haha.. thanks."

I quickly arranged the plates on the table along with some tea and the heated hot-pot in the middle.

"Itadakimasu!" X2

We had the hot-pot with absolute delight and talked some more before it was time for me to leave for U.A.

"Sunao-san, I have to go now. Otherwise, I'll be late for my class."

She looked the time on the wall clock and said with a gasp, "Oh no! I too am going to be late if I don't leave now! By the way, Asui-san, what university do you go to?"

"Ah, I.. go to U.A. university. I'm a student in the hero course."

Her eyes widened in amazement as she exclaimed, "That's so awesome! Your strength really makes a lot of sense now! You 'have' to tell me all about it later today!"

"Hmhm.. sure."

"See ya, Asui-san!"

She left my apparment in a hurry and I packed my backpack and left for U.A.

'What a fantastical morning... Is it too soon to have a crush? Perhaps.. She won't find out anyway. Nerds like me are experts at one sided love.'

It's a different feeling to be a lonely nerd... a crappy feeling.

Let's all be miserable together.

'... Mood swings... Not again!!'

A/N: Suggest a hero name for MC. 'Froakie' is a perfect name tbh, both as a tribute to 'Froppy' as well as taking in account the way hero names are selected in BNHA world. But, I feel like it won't fit the MC and the setting of the world he is in. Suggest some good names, please.

Remember, MC has attributes of Toxicroak, Venusaur, Exploud, Seismitoad, Swampert and Greninja.
