Chapter 11: Capital Academy(Part 1)

"Ugh!" I groaned, as I got off the wagon. "Finally, I'm free!" I thought to myself, as I tried to cheer and jump around. 

But because the fatigue I felt from keeping myself from puking was very strong, I am a bit woozy to do that. 

It is a miracle that I can still walk like this.

I looked up the academy's buildings and mumbled, "Hmm, so this is the capital academy!" as my eyes widened, in awe.

It's too big. 

All I hope is that I don't get lost here. Well, I didn't get lost at the Emerald palace, so it might be fine. 

Now that I look at it, this academy is far bigger than the Emerald Palace. It might be as big as the Main Palace. 

Or maybe not so… Well, I haven't been there, yet.

…

I sat down. 

The entrance ceremony was just starting, and Niel Bohrs, the Headmaster of the Capital Academy started his speech.

In this world, there isn't a regulation or absolute rule that you must attend school. 

By the age of 7, kids, more or less, noble kids in this world are allowed to take a home tutor to teach them for a year or for few months. 

When a kid turns 12 they are allowed to go to the academies.

They must study there for 4 years, and proceed on studying the job they would take as they get old, for example as a knight or as a duke and more. 

But on special cases like my siblings who are too intelligent and hates to waste time. After taking a test a student can skip that 4 years and proceed on to the training. 

Altheia planned to study for 4 years, but she got bored and took the exam. Of course, she successfully passed the test.

Really, how bored can you guys be to skip the whole 4 years easily… School is made so that the kids will learn how to handle society, you know.

Well, about this academy, in here, commoners and nobles study together and like I said earlier. there are 4 grades. 

There is no certain design for the academy's uniform, as long as the students wear the red blazer of the school, it is fine to wear anything inside. 

But well, with just the blazer, there are no ways of knowing a student's grade. 

So there is a certain pattern of the tie or the ribbon we wear. 1st years like me wear black, while 2nd years wear blue. Third years wear green, and 4th years wear yellow. 

Still, not much students wear their ribbon and tie, so it is still hard to know their grade. 

Even though this academy is the biggest academy on the Doghanik Empire, it doesn't have many regulations. 

This might be nice…

The speech of the Academy's Headmaster ended, and the student council president followed after him. 

I was a bit surprised to see the person who stood on the stage. "Alicia Claes…" and those word left my mouth, as I looked at the student council president.

How many years has it been, since I last saw her? Was it 4 years or three? I don't remember at all…

"I hope you all have a great year, everyone" she stated, as she finished her speech and bowed, before she left the stage with a stern face.

She has changed a lot.

…

I entered the classroom. 

The only seat that was available was the seat besides the window, second to the last row. I took a sit there just before the professor appeared. 

He had an untreated beard, with his messy brown hair slicked to the back and he was wearing a long-sleeved black shirt, with its first 3 buttons opened.

"Now, now… Good morning, you guys!" he greeted. "My name is Hart Gustav. I will be your homeroom teacher for your 4 years of study here!"

He beamed a forced smile at us and continued, "We'll begin with introductions. Let us start with the right side" 

If you just listen to him, he sound so cheerful, but if you look at him, you will the words, "What a bother" written on his face. 

Still, we followed his words.

And so, a girl with a crimson hair that looked like a blazing fire and amethyst colored eyes that looked so fierce, stood. 

"My name is Reina sen Arledimeth, the second princess of Sernathe Kingdom. we will be together for 4 years, but I have no intention of being chums with you all"

She was beautiful enough to captivate others. If not for the words she uttered, with a beautiful face.

"That's all from me!" she ended and sat down on her chair.

Didn't think that I would hear someone say such nostalgic line in real life, and more or less, a girl that had those lines suit her best…

"W-well, then Next" our teacher coughed, before he called the next one. 

He's troubled.

Reina, was it..? What are you going to do about crushing the mood Mister Gustav had formed earlier, huh?

A charming young man, with a shining dandelion hair and olive colored eyes that looked a bit fresh, stood next.

"Nice to meet you all, I'm Gino Borther, from Orthorn Kingdom. I want to be a person who is as strong as a knight and as gentleman as a prince" 

As he uttered those words, he slowly winked at all of us, which made the guys in the room feel a shiver down their spines.

Let me say it once, why do you guys break the charisma your appearance brought with words that easily?

Once again, Mister Gustav coughed before he called the next one. 

The one that stood next was a dark blue-haired boy with glasses, whose right eye is nearly covered with his bangs.

He stated, "Forth Torthen, from Forthenor" and bowed with his hand pressing on his chest, before sitting down. 

D-don't you have more to say..?

We don't want you guys to break off the charisma your appearance brought, but don't you have more to say?

This is your opportunity to get along with others, Forth!

Gino beside him burst into laughter quietly, even Reina who just stated her clear intention of not wanting to get along with us, was laughing quietly.

I spared a glimpse over Mister Gustav and as expected, he was coughing, again.

After that, the introduction went on well unlike how it was at the start, until a new troublesome kid stood. 

His black hair was messy with his short bangs sliding down separately, and was showing his forehead.

"I'm Kirt Yulirken, from Benigrul Kingdom. I gladly welcome guys who'll kindly let me sleep, as friends…" he stated, before dozing off while standing.

Would you finish your introduction and sit down, before you start dozing off?

I wanted to point that out to him, but I changed my mind as I saw Mister Gustav, because he seemed like he already have a cough illness.

Next to the new trouble, was an auburn haired plain-looking boy, or so me and Mister Gustav wished. 

"Nice to meet you everyone, I am Russell Figmorth. I would like to hone my skills to be a good knight, as I study here. So, I am looking forward to learn with you all" 

He beamed a smile at us, before gasping. "By the way, I am from Gothiceln" he added, before sitting down.

I spared a glimpse at Mister Gustav saw him sigh in relief, which made me do the same and even wiped my forehead.

Looks like he was saved by Russell… Well, I was as well. 

But, what's with this feeling that something is being a bit off, with Russell's introduction just now?? 

Well, must be my imagination!

Next to Russell was a girl with a lavender hair color and lime colored eyes, whose nervousness came out obviously, as she stood up.

A timid girl, I guess…

She took a deep breath and out, as she pressed her chest, before starting, "M-m-my….name…i-is….na Kirthy…n" 

I felt my skull make a sound like something broke inside.

Mister Gustav gulped and told the girl, "I'm sorry can you repeat it once again…" which made her gasp.

"Anna Kirthyln…" she spoke, in a more small voice than earlier, as she fidgeted.

Mister Gustav hesitated, but he went on and stated, "Can you repeat it a bit louder?" The girl then looked at him, before she took a deep breath in and out.

"My name is Anna Kirthyln!!" 

He said louder, but not that much… But well, she managed to say her name, so it was all good, I guess.

I looked at Mister Gustav to confirm if I was right, but he was too surprised that he can't even cough. 

After all, it was too loud.

With a red flush covering her face, Anna quietly sat down and Mister Gustav gasped, remembering the thing he was supposed to be doing.

"Ah! W-well, how about we go with the last one, everyone?" he quickly tried to change the quiet mood.

It was a bit forced but my long-awaited turn has finally come.

My lips formed a smiled, as I stood up and pressed my chest with my right hand, whilst having my other hand bend behind me.

"I'm Edward Finn von Collins, the third Imperial Prince of Doghanik Empire. Nice to meet you everyone" 

With these words, everyone started glaring at me and even shared their own opinions, in a whisper.

I spared a last glimpse over Mister Gustav and sighed, upon seeing the sight.

Seems like even I, Edward Finn von Collins made my pitiful teacher, Mister Hart Gustav cough, huh? 

Prolly, he has a cold now…

"Rest in Peace, sir" with this in mind, I clasped my hands together and bowed my head down, before taking a sit down.
