Beth chuckled softly. Although it was inappropriate, she couldn't control herself.

Everly asked, "Are you gloating? Don't tell me you think I'm stupid."

Beth explained, "No, I don't think so. Maverick is different from us. If he thought from your perspective, he would not think that's stupid. What we can think of is to make Zane be judged or to ruin his reputation as you do. But Zane would kidnap others and employ killing, which is beyond your moral bottom line. What you have thought almost crosses your morality, so I completely understand you."

Everly felt much better.

But Everly was still upset. "Maverick made me feel inferior."

Beth agreed, "He surely is brilliant!"
