“Hopefully not. It’s a precaution, just in case,” Deke replied as he adjusted his shoulder holster. Conall strapped on the ankle holster, put the gun into it, and pulled his pants’ leg down to cover them.

Rory nodded and they went down to join Molly. “We’re going to get something to eat at the old diner,” he told her.

“Yes! I’m starving.”

“I think we all are, so let’s go,” Deke said.

When they got to the car, Conall walked past it, following the driveway around to the back of the house. When he returned he said, “From now on, we’ll park in the garage. No sense in advertising where we’re staying until we’re ready to.”

“If we decide to,” Deke replied.

Conall nodded. “It’s defensible, and well away from town, so we might. We’ll talk about it when we get back.”

When they were on the road leading through town, Deke asked, “Do you mind if we drive past your house, Rory?”

“I guess not. There won’t be anything to see, you know.”
