13 The Reincarnated one!! Part 2

Meera dreamt that night.

It was midnight. Someone was running towards a castle. He was breathing heavily. He was looking back to make sure no one was following him. His curly hair were playing on his shoulder along with his body movements.

She focused on his face. She had seen him somewhere. Suddenly she remembered! It was Raghav's face. But his appearance was different, little bit like mythological warriors. He was wearing a yellow dhoti, green sleeveless top and leather belt made to carry a sword. But, he wasn't carrying any sword except a small dagger hanging on his backside in his belt.

He reached the castle within few minutes. He lowered his speed and looked back one last time to make sure no one had seen him. Then he ran towards left side of the castle. He was looking for someone. He stopped at a 'Parijatak' (white flower) tree. No one was there. He looked scared now. He started looking here and there. His breathing was still heavy. Suddenly he heard a familiar voice,

"I'm here!" A woman wearing beautiful white saree was looking at him with pleasant smile. She looked like Meera herself.

He smiled back.

"I was picking flowers for you." She showed her hands full with beautiful Parijatak flowers. Her eyes were glowing with love.

"Meera, I made a mistake by calling you here today. We shouldn't stay here any longer. Let's get out of here."

He walked towards her and held her hand tightly. She tried to hold on to the flowers but they fell on the ground when suddenly he grabbed her hand. She looked at the fallen flowers for a moment and then his worried face. She dropped the thought of picking them back and ran with him. But she was confused, so she asked,

"What's wrong, Raghav?"

"I will explain. But let me get you out of here first." He replied.

"But it's your day of birth. We have always celebrated it here. That's why we're here today. Then why are running?" She asked again.

He stopped, turned towards and held both of her hands, and said,

"While coming here, I overheard some people talking, talking about killing our king and his family and making his unworthy brother a king. I wasn't able to hear them properly so I went inside the door, where the voices were coming from. I made sure to move quietly but one of them realised my presence and they tried to follow me. I realised that you would be here near the castle so I ran to you with all my energy, to get you out of here. They can attack the castle anytime. But I heard their plan. I need to get you out of here. Then I will enter the castle and inform the king about the attack. There is no anymore time to explain." He said eagerly.

She nodded her head with scared eyes and started running faster. She looked at his anxious sweaty face and said,

"I can go from here safely. I know a shortcut to my house. You go inside the castle from the back door, before anything bad happens."

"Are you sure?" He asked with concerned eyes.

She nodded fast with tearful eyes. She hugged him tightly and ran towards her house.

He kept looking at her until she disappears. Then he ran towards the castle back door.

He reached the door within few minutes. He knocked on the door with secret code. The doorkeeper opened the for him and bowed him to show his respect. Raghavendra was still keeping an eye on his back to make sure no one has followed him here. He entered through the door and asked the doorkeeper to be alert. He nodded saying yes.

Raghvendra, then walked inside, heading towards the King's chamber.

He reached the chamber within few minutes. He knocked on the door. Someone walked towards the door and opened it. It was the Queen. She saw Raghavendra's worried face and asked,

"What's wrong, Senapati Raghavendra?"

"I need to talk to Maharaj. Urgently and secretly." Raghavendra said anxiously.

She nodded her head and asked him to come inside. She walked towards their private chamber.

Few minutes later, the king walked outside. His face concerned. He asked,

"What happened Raghav? Is there anything to worry?"

"My king, I heard something terrible today. There were Assassin's near my village, discussing about the attack on the castle. To kill you and your family. Your younger brother had planned this attack as per their talk. We need to prepare for fight." Raghavendra spoke without breathing.

The king was shocked by the news. He said,

"My brother is not a nice person, but I don't believe he can plan to destroy me and family. But if you say, you heard it by yourself, we will get ready. You go and ask royal guards to get ready for immediate defense. I will grab my essentials." The king walked towards his chamber again.

"Yes, my king." Raghavendra said and walked outside to meet the guards.

Before he reach the guards, he heard the loud noise of door breaking by force and screams of some guards. He realised the situation. The assasins had attacked already. His hand automatically reached his belt to grab his sword. But he realised he wasn't carrying any. He grabbed the dagger from his back and held it into his hand to attack.

He realised he needed help, hence he shouted towards the guards,

"Guards, Saawdhan!! (Be alert) We're under attack. Sound the horn to ask the help from the royal soldiers and some of you come with me to defend the door."

They heard his words and their eyes widened with the news. They immediately grabbed the situation's urgency and two of them ran towards the horn. Remaining soldiers followed Raghavendra.

They all were walking from the corridors towards the door. But the assasins reached them before they reach the door. The hooded figure of assasins attacked them from the air. He jumped at them out of nowhere. He surprise attack made them move back. Raghavendra asked the guards to stay back and looked at the assasin with fierce eyes.

The assasin tried to learn Raghavendra's moves but Raghavendra wasn't making any move to learn. He stood on his ground firmly. The assasin was losing his value of time and surprise attack so he attacked him with his sharp unusual weapon. Raghvendra bent his body on his left to save from his attack and grabbed his arm and twisted it hard. He shouted in pain, but Raghavendra didn't stop. He grabbed on his waist and legs and lifted him in the air and threw away. He fell down on the hard floor making loud noise. The other assasins realised the situation and decided to attack simultaneously now. They had realised Raghavendra's strength and they also realised that he wasn't carrying any sword, but small dagger. They decided to take advantage of that.

Raghavendra realised their intention and asked the guards to help him. They came forward to fight with him. The assasins attacked them for every side. The swords started to collide on each other, making kinky sounds. Raghavendra was making them miss their every attack with his quick movements. And he was waiting for a right moment to attack with his dagger. After few attacks, he found a gap and attacked one of the assasin with his dagger powerfully into his guts. He removed it immediately and inserted it into his heart. He fell down on the floor instantly. Other assasins got scared but kept attacking them. They looked at the door screamed for someone to come and help them. Raghavendra looked at the door. Some armed soldiers entered inside. Some of them were familiar faces. All traitors, bought by King's brother. Raghavendra realised that they had more power in this deadly battle. But he had never got scared because number of enemies or power of enemy. He focused on the ones who were attacking him and kept fighting. He killed one more assasin meanwhile. The royal guards also finished one of them, bringing their number down. But newly entered soldiers were ready to attack them. The gurads got scared but didn't lose their position. Suddenly they heard someone's loud voice,

"How dare you attack your own king? What poison did my brother feed you? You will be punished by death for this treason. Stop this nonsense immediately and I will spare your life. Else you will end up dead." The King's words drummed the walls of the hall.

The enemy soldiers trembled for a second but they didn't pull back. They were determined to follow the plan.

The king shouted again, now at Raghavendra,

"Raghav, grab this sword. Let's kick these traitor's as*** and show them their real place." And he threw a sword towards Raghavendra.

Raghavendra catched sword and nodded his head. The enemy soldiers now attacked them from every side. The swords started making sounds. The king and Raghavendra were fighting furiously. After few minutes of intense fighting, one hard blow of enemy's soldier hit the King. He fell down on his knees. Raghavendra saw him falling down but he couldn't move because of all the soldiers attacking him from every way. He screamed loudly and killed few soldiers in a single blow. Then he grabbed a spear on the ground and threw it aiming the soldier who was moving to kill the King. The spear hit the soldier hard and his body fell down on the floor. Raghavendra then ran towards the King and held him. The king said he was fine with his hand and asked him to keep fighting. Raghavendra sat him down on the floor, resting his back on the wall and resumed the fight with two swords in his hands. He killed dozen of soldiers within next few minutes. But the number of soldiers was too many. He got attacked from every side. He didn't even realise but his body was bleeding. He realised it was the end. But he wasn't ready to accept it. He grabbed the swords even tighter and kept fighting.

Suddenly he heard the movement of some people on the door. Some common men from Meera's town had entered the castle, holding spears and swords, to save their king and Raghavendra's life. They were not good at fighting but they still entered into the battle fearlessly. Some of them died immediately and fell on the ground. It made Raghavendra's heart scream. He got distracted for a moment and the enemy's blow hit his chest. He tried to move but couldn't miss. Blood spilled out of his wound and he heard someone's scream. It was Meera. She was also accompanying them. He got scared for her death. She was able to hold a sword but wasn't a skilled fighter. She should get out of here, he thought. He screamed without looking at Meera,

" Get out of here immediately."

"Not without you."

She said with tearful eyes. Her hands were trembling while holding a sword which was heavy for her strength.

"You will die if you stay." He screamed.

"If you die, I will die too." She said with determination.

Suddenly he heard the queen's scream. No one had noticed but the king had left this world sometime before. He lost his focus for a moment and the soldier's attack hit him again. His body had gotten badly injured without the armour.

Meera kept screaming at every blow which hit Raghavendra. She now decided to enter the fight by herself. If he was going to die, she wanted to die alongwith him. She lifted the sword with both of her hands and attacked the soldier. Her movements were good but her attacks were powerless for the strong soldier she was facing. Her sword skills were only enough to save her life in a one to one battle with a common man. But she wasn't a match to the skilled soldier. The hard blow of sword hit her after few minutes and her white dress got coloured in red. Raghavendra saw her falling on the ground and screamed. But he couldn't reach her. The soldiers attacked him from every side and he almost lost his consciousness because lost of blood. Meera's white figure with red splashes of blood on it, kept repeating in front of his eyes. He realised someone holding him tightly by both of his arms and looked up the soldier who was ready to attack him. He closed his eyes and called God,

"Hey lord Krishna, give me one more chance to save my King and the woman who is love of my life. I promise, I will do better next time, and will make sure to save them, making the enemy pay for his mistake. I promise, I will."

Tears flew down his eyes and the soldier pierced Raghavendra's heart. He stopped breathing and his unmoving body fell down the ground. He left his the world so unfairly that the entire universe cried.

Tears flew down from Meera's eyes. She woke up from the dream. She realised immediately, it wasn't actually a dream. It was peak of their past life, god showed her. Now she understood the real meaning of her affection towards Raghav, the police guy she met. He is her lover, and they're meant to be together, always!!

She sat on the egde of her bed and closed her eyes to pray. She realised, lord Krishna had really given them another chance to fulfill their destiny. And she wasn't going to let it go into vein.
