The Shadows Come

It has been three months since the battle out on the plains, Meng thanks to his ultimate trump card was able to survive the battle alongside mob#2,3, and a few of their squad leaders. Sadly only a handful of Meng's soldiers had survived the battle.

Shins' performance in the battle got him a promotion to a 100 man commander and Meng was also promoted to a 1,000 man commander, his three hundred mounted archers had managed to defeat the Wei chariots saving a large number of troops in the 1st, 2nd, and 4th armies. They had also helped support the charges of multiple cavalries and had even gallantly given most of their lives to support Duke Hyous's attack. Not to mention they had claimed many lives with their arrows throughout the battle.

Zheng after having observed the combat reports from the battle personally summoned Meng to the capital had had him start training his new men. As a 1,000 man commander, he made sure to rub it into the face of Shin and had also promoted Mob#2 and 3 to 300 man commanders. He now had a new 300 man commander who he called mob #4! and also had a new 100 man commander who he called Side mob #1.

He had just spent the last two and half months training the 1,000 troops. They were currently outside the capital training their Final Trump Card! far away from the walls of the capital, 1,000 men could be seen twitching on the ground practicing their death scenes! the shouts of many dramatic deaths could be heard if you got close. He of course had them practice their other skills as well.

Meng had just returned to the capital after spending a couple of days out on the plains practicing with his men. He had just started to sit down to enjoy some food when a young soldier ran up to him and told him that Heki was summoning him!

*next day*

Meng was currently patrolling with 100 of his mounted archers, they could be seen slowly riding the streets while practicing their Hip twist as they rode! in front of Meng rode Heki who was dying of embarrassment being seen near Meng and his men. His cavalry look majestic and imposing while Meng and his men rode behind them doing the weird twists in their saddles.

Heki was also a bit concerned for the state of Mengs men! how tough was his training out on the plains? he swore that every once in a while he would spot one of Meng's men coughing up blood!

Heki finally arrives at Shoubunkun place and are surprised to see him talking with mister Shi! (was a supporter of the ketsu faction). There Heki and Meng learn that the day before the men in the Zheng faction that had died was in fact some of the men responsible for the security around the royal palace!

Suddenly! Meng points to the top of the palace walls off in the distance! the group can now see multiple shadow figures quickly running and heading towards the inner palace!

Shin (POV)

Thanks to a message from mister Shi he and Ten learned that Zheng was in danger. Having returned to the capital he was just in time to confront a group of assassins as they snuck into the royal palace!

"Shin! more of them are outside and running on the roofs heading towards Zhengs room!", shouts Ten.

Having been practicing while Shin was off to war she was slowly becoming very skilled with the blow dart! firing a quick shot she was able to hit one of the assassins before the rest ran out of range. With Shin busy fighting she decided to run off and save Zheng.

Sadly she was a bit naive and was soon captured after accidentally running into another group of assassins! thankfully Kyou Kai was nearby and saved her. Ten thought she was safe but Kyou Kai suddenly knocked her out!

She was knocked out until Shin arrived not too long later, and managed to shake her awake, she then told him about what had just happened! the two could hear many palace guards dying further up ahead.

Meng (POV)

He had just warned the others about a large number of assassins heading to the palace.

This was it! this was his moment to shine! he would use this chance to look good in front of Heki and Shoubunkun! he quickly aimed his bow and took careful aim! he could see the assassin! releasing his shot! he watched as it flung far into the air! it was a powerful arrow filled with the full might of his arms! it flew gloriously through the air and would soon secure his place as someone reliable in the Zheng faction! he watched as the arrow neared the assassin and then... IT MISSED!!!

Meng was left standing there in his shooting pose as an awkward silence filled the area! Soon the group left and made their way to the palace to protect the king.

Shin (POV)

*sometime later*

He was currently fighting Kyou Kai, he couldn't believe how strong Kyou Kai was! she had flexed hard on him! she had dodged his best attacks and was now currently standing on his sword as he struggled to hold her weight!

Eventually, the two are forced to work together to defeat the other assassins around them, the situation didn't look good and they were all about to die when an enraged Shoubunkun stormed into the room! he was followed by Meng, Heki, and a bunch of guards!

He noticed that the guards were about to kill a weakened Kyou kai but thanks to him and Ten pleading with Zheng they were able to save her life.

Meng (POV)

This was a sad night for him, he hadn't been able to take advantage of a great opportunity to earn himself some great rewards! Shin and Ten had managed to earn a lot by protecting the King.

He watched as one of the assassin survivors spilled out the truth under a bit of torture, it seems that it was chancellor Ryo who had sent the assassin! they all soon learned just how outmatched they were when facing chancellor Ryo! a guard had come running into the room and declared that Ryo was outside and on his way!

They all assembled in the throne room to wait for the arrival of Ryo, when he arrived everyone was shocked by how much pressure they felt from Ryo and the men he had brought with him! even Shin was shaken by how much of a presence that Ryo had.

Ryo faction was soo strong that he wasn't even afraid to admit that he was the one that tried to kill the king, boldly admitting it to his face! Zheng was forced to settle the situation by asking him to stop jesting.

Moubu, one of Ryo's generals ask the King if he would bring back the "Six General of Qin!", Ryo even offered to supply six of his General to fill the positions!

(The six general of Qin, are allowed to wage war as they see fit)

Shin and Ten learn that Ou Ki was once one of the six generals of Qin. Ryo lets the matter pass for now and decides to leave, with no one able to stop him! he had just tried to kill the king! admitted it! and was now casually walking away from the palace!

Meng was wondering why Ryo would even allow them to live! if he had this much power and influence! why was he toying with them like this?

Zheng with no other choice met with Shi and incorporated the ketsu faction into his own! (they supported his half brother)

AN: This is just a reminder on names, some have multiple names depending on which race the author was writing for? (i think, or they have a long nickname)

Meng Ho: is the main MOB, is super OP, and sexy, "right everyone?", he's soo cool.

Dai Chao: is Meng Ho's wife.

Shin: also called Xin, is the main protagonist in Kingdom manga.

Shoubunkun: (Chang Wen-Jun), a cabinet minister who serves Zheng.

Ying Zheng: (Ei Sei), the young King of Qin.

Heki: (BI), Lieutenant of Shoubunkun, a1,000 man cav commander.

Seikyou: (Cheng Jiao), sei's half-brother.

Ou Ki: (Wang Qi), one of the Six General of Qin.

Yo Tan Wa: female queen of mountain tribes.

Kyou Kai: female assassin that flexes on Shin! assassin Clan Shiyuu.

Ryo Fui: Chancellor and former merchant, wants to become King of Qin.

Shi Shi: Ketsu Shi's strategist and right-hand man, joins Zheng.

Ketsu Shi: was Ryo Fui's rival as the Left Chancellor of Qin, he was SeiKyou's supporter and ally.

Shou Hei Kun: one of the pillars of ryo fui, runs strategist academy.

Mou Bu: one of the four pillars of ryo fui, general, wants to be the strongest.

Mou Ki: shou hei kun student, training with Ten.

I hope this helps some people with the names. I know in the manga the same person is called by two different names. I'll try to stick with one name, but you never know.
