Throughout the end of the next month, I mostly trained a lot and studied after asking Lisa to help with my vision. I got my stats to D+ rank and found out I can't increase it without increasing my battle experience, my skills had a bottleneck after reaching D+ rank. I talked to her about it and she says it's normal.
I also got to talk more about domains. looks like it's hard to get artifact sets, and you can only bond it once so it merges with your stat, increasing it above B rank, since it's difficult to increase it beyond that naturally. The artifact sets skills although are always available. I nod before going back to studying.
I also hung out a lot with amber and Noelle, mostly going out to eat and questing together. Noelle likes to help people along the way, delaying our outings a lot. Adventuring with amber is always fun since she helped me with tips on hiding and scouting, helping my presence concealment increase to D+. She called me a genius while I just chuckle awkwardly.
I trained with Noelle in the training field, her strength was so strong, and I had to parry a lot. Her skill was very annoying since she could heal as she fights, making my skills do nothing to her as crystallized reactions occurs and she picks up the shards before I can, increasing her defense. I always see Kaeya laughing in the background while I suffer. I got valuable experience though, so I won't complain….. I complained a lot but nobody minded me, ugh. I did got to train my agility and endurance stats the most so I just continued.
Amber introduced me to Kaeya and Diluc after that though. Well seeing the "darknight hero" in the flesh was unsettling, but I just brushed it off. After all the jokes about me and Kaeya being blood brothers, I just brushed it off and talked about Aaru village with them talking about the knight duties. Asking where the grandmaster went, they said he took most of the knights to stormterrors lair to investigate the increase in turbulent winds since the beginning of the year.
Remembering that stormterror starts terrorizing the city in 8 months, I'm determined to double my training. Shaking my head, we continue to enjoy ourselves before going to rest.
During the second month, a few things happened. One of which was me being eligible for the C-rank promotion. It was on the first week, when I went to submit my quest report to Katherine. "Congratulations Barry! You've qualified for C-rank ascension quest" "Really?" I beam happily. She nods and I accept it. After checking the details (I made it the same as the game), I go to tell the others. Most of them were happy, while amber took me to good hunter for a meal. As we are eating I say "we've been eating together a lot, are you sure you aren't asking me out? I laughs as she coughs the food out. I give her a cup of water as I apologize as she glares at me. "Okay okay, I'll take you out on a date after I pass my ascension quest~" I tease as she blushes red. It takes a while before she cools down enough to accept. I smile as we continue shopping for quick snacks and potions for increased damage and defense. I also got some potions to increase Cryo damage for 5 minutes, although there's a cooldown of 12 hours. After getting the supplies, I go to rest since ill start the quest on the next day.
Waking up the next morning, I greet the inn owner as I eat breakfast and head out to the domain. After greeting the knights at the gates I head out for midsummer courtyard domain at starsnatch cliff. Fighting some whopper flowers and hilichurls groups, I arrive at the domain entrance. I relax for a while to get to my peak condition before entering. 'This will be easy' I say as I go in.
That was a lie. It wasn't easy. Now I know why it's hard to find B rank adventurers and above. It took me five attempts and a whole week before I could finish it with injuries; a purple bruise in my stomach, deep cuts on my shoulder and waist, and extreme electrocution by the electro hypostasis. If not for my ffm that increased my regeneration, I would have died, A LOT. I groan as I rest in my camp with traps set around it.
Thinking of how I almost died; once by freeze reaction done to me by Cryo archer, then the super conduct reaction followed by the electro archer that almost killed me, twice by the rotation pattern by the ruin grader, and I also had to learn my lesson by putting my ice wall away from me while blocking the hypostasis. Well, they were at least 2 grades stronger than me so my ice resistance was reduce to 50%, but still I groan as I wince from the pain.
At least I became C- rank from the system as I see my agility and endurance increase, also my elemental infusion and skill increased also. I nod satisfied while having a rest.
Waking up a day later, I stand up as I think to myself 'I'll have to go to the church' as I pack my stuff and go back to the city. Getting to the guild by evening, I greet Katherine and show her the completed quest. "congratulations on becoming a C rank adventurer, this is your reward; 150 primogems, 100k mora and a 3-star artifact set to choose." I took the rewards and picked the "brave heart" set; 2-piece: atk increase by 18%. 4-piece: increase damage against enemies with more than 50% health by 30%. There was no sub stat increase since someone already bonded to it, but I didn't mind, I can just get mine from the domain anyway.
I got to celebrate at angels share with the rest of the crew, where I showed off my battle scars. It was all merry before I got drunk and didn't remember much. I woke up in an unfamiliar ceiling as I got up, still dizzy from the hangover. Looking around, I see myself not in my room. Seeing the bow and outrider uniform on the floor, I look at the bed and see amber on it in her underwear, still sleeping. 'Seems she's not a morning person, but damn those thighs are to die for' I snicker.
~Mhmm~ I look at her, seeing her looking at me, blushing as she glares. "Are you going to remove your hand from my breasts?" "Nope, they are to die for~" I dodge as the throws her pillow at me. She gets up and sticks her tongue out as she goes to the bathroom. 'Who's this cute creature' I squeal inside as I shake myself out of it and try to remember what happened while making breakfast

I scream silently as I rush to the bathroom. 'What the hell was that?!!' I think as I remember last night.
When the party was finished, we saw Barry sleeping and since we didn't want to wake him, I was selected to get him to his hotel room. I groan as I went to his inn, biting my tongue not to moan as I feel him nibbling on my neck 'shit' I think as I get there, only for her to tell me that there's no free room. "What about the room he was staying?" "He didn't pay for it after the first month and he wasn't around, so I gave it to another person. I groan as I feel him giving me a hickey.
With no choice, I take him to my place as I drop him on my bed before rushing to the bathroom to rub one off. 'Fuck' I curse as I can't get my release as usual. 'What the hell did he do to me?' I think as I get back on the bed. Lying down, I feel him hugging me and rolling me to his face as he kisses me.

Thinking about what happened last night, I sigh before setting the table, I mean I like her a bit, but I didn't want it to go like this. 'Let's just see where it goes' I think as I see her coming in to the dining area. Seeing her in her uniform does make me hard, but I ignore it. I also feel a sense of pride when I see her not hiding the hickey "want to let people know what happened eh?" I tease as I point to her neck. Her eyes widens before shrugging and replying "it's not their business right?" before sitting and eating. I smile before eating with her.
After eating, she tells me what happened in the inn and I groan as I didn't expect to take that long in the first place. "Can I stay here for a while before getting a place to stay? "She thinks for a bit before nodding. I give her a hug as thanks and laugh seeing her blush. After talking about sharing duties, we talked about what happened and agreed that nothing changes for now and we should go on the date before anything happens again.
After getting my things from the inn, I settle down on the guest room she has, arranging stuff and buying ingredients to make hotpot. After a mini house celebrations between the two of us (no alcoholic drinks), we tell each other good night and go to sleep.
