13 The Construction of The Village, A System Update?
Days had passed since we had come back from the expedition for new talent. I had gained 24 stat points throughout the time and they were evenly distributed this time. The sensation of getting stronger was odd but ultimately it made me excited for my future, i had no idea about how much magicules I would need for evolution to Demon Lord but I was sure I could reach it.
So far the village had been off to a good start, the progress was much faster and efficient as the dwarven workers i had introduced to the village had accelerated the education of the hobgoblins. Oh yeah, a large amount of surrounding goblin tribes decided to visit after being told about Rimuru and me, they were wanting to join the village... Mainly because they could get named.
Rimuru accepted them and had spent two days asleep, waking up yesterday. Life was good and everything was turning out well. Multiple houses and buildings had been made with an emphasis on Rimuru and my own accommodations. I didn't understand why they treated me preferentially but when I asked and was answered all i got was a simple, ' "You're the Mage aren't you?" '. They didn't even know what the fuck they were talking about but they just carried on and continued to build my new house.
So yeah, i now stood in front of a complete house, the speed of the Dwarves being unrivalled in matters of construction, development and crafting. I had very little furnishings or anything for my house but it was still mine. The concept of owning things was new to me so that was nice, but all together it was a minor thing. Iralia and the children had come by to check on me, the kids becoming apprentices to some of the older Dwarves as they wanted off of the streets and into a safe home. Iralia was given a small segment of the village for her 'brewery', a building that she said would serve beer, Coffee, tea and every drink she could get her hands on. I was supportive of this, it sucked not having Iced Coffee or Sodas.
My job was undefined in relation to the pecking order of the village but it was communally accepted that I would be the right hand woman of Rimuru or at least someone who was very influential. Thinking about it, I had fed a lot of the village with my hunts alone and supplied a lot of the hides and materials free of charge or abuse... Something the goblins had come to accept.
' I expected to become someone of great importance later on... But right now? Well shit...' Sighing a little at my own thoughts I stepped into my home, the light in the interior maintained by magical lights, created by Kaijin and one of the enchanters that had come along with Iralia. The interior was cosy and spacious, the entire building being three stories tall and having a cooling magic all the way through the house, something i definitely appreciated. That idea came from Rimuru i was sad to say but still, i am here reaping the benefits.
I stayed inside the house for a little longer, breathing in the environment of my own home. That was when a small ding resounded and my system popped up, rip-off Morgan Freeman calling out in a monotone voice.
|System is updating... This will take a few minutes, host is advised to sit down.|
Ignoring any questions i had I sat up against one of the walls. My heart was beating loudly at the anticipation of pain or some sort of sleep effect. The assumption was incorrect however as i felt myself being tickled all over, my body spasming at the continual torture. A minute passed as this went on my face scrunching in discomfort more than laughter as every part of my body wanted to resist the feeling.
Then, as if it had never been there, it disappeared. A cool sensation creeped down my spine, calming me down as the screen for my system flashed, the rip-off suddenly emerging.

|Daily Check-In System allows the user to receive Items, Powers and Magics based off of two rolls every morning.|
|The first role determines the category of the check-in, between: Item, Power or Magic.|
|The Second Role is to determine the Quality of said Check-In Result. The ranks are as follows: Over Powered, Greater, Uncommon, Mediocre, Cursed.|
|The role is truly random, do not blame the system for the Host's bad luck! Good day.|
As if the update had never happened the screen faded and i was left up against the wall, on the ground, blinking whilst trying to comprehend everything it just explained. I remembered it all, there was no issues there, it was just hard to digest.
"P-phew... Okay... Is there a check-in for today?"
|For sure. Would the Host like to use today's allotted Check-In?|
"Yes please?"
|Initiating rolls|
The sound of rolling dice echoed inside my head as an image came to my eyes that no one else could see. Before me was the image of a small table, one dice twirling on the table. It suddenly stopped.

The past dice disappeared as another one dropped onto the table, rolling and rolling again until eventually coming to a stop.

Then as if in a flash the system appeared and showed the spin table, the spinner being pushed by an unseen force before the wheel started rotating. On the board was indecipherable words of an unknown language to me, it was surreal to say the least.
Finally, after a few seconds more of waiting the spinner stopped, the arrow pointing to a particularly squiggly phrase.
|Congratulations! You have received Superb Agility as a power... This will be quantified and added to Host's status sheet momentarily.|
It didn't even take as long as the thing suggested as right away I got a pop up of my status sheet, showing the added ability under my skills bar.
