16 Chapter 16: Dire Situation

As Boruto took a step forward, a sudden realization struck him. "Shit," he murmured under his breath, and swiftly deactivated his Eight Gates technique.

Hinata, who was observing the scene, couldn't help but feel confused by her son's sudden change of plans. "I'm sorry, Kaa-san," Boruto apologized. "I completely forgot that I have a training session with Sakura-san. I need to leave now."

Hinata nodded understandingly. "Go ahead," she said.

"Thank you. I'll head out right away. Bye, Kaa-san," Boruto said hurriedly before disappearing in a flicker of movement.

Hinata watched her son leave with a sigh. "This kid," she muttered, a mix of exasperation and fondness in her voice.

Konoha Hospital,

Boruto arrived at the hospital in a hurry, swiftly entering the building and making his way towards Sakura's office. Along the way, some nurses and doctors were taken aback by his sudden sprint, attempting to catch up with him but failing to keep pace.

In another part of the hospital, Shizune and Tsunade overheard the commotion as the nurses and doctors shouted, "Chase him!" However, they paid it no mind, engrossed in a more important conversation.

Finally, Boruto reached Sakura's office, opening the door and entering with a breathless apology, "I'm sorry I'm late."

Sakura was taken aback by Boruto's sudden entrance but quickly composed herself. "You're finally here," she said with a hint of surprise in her voice.

A few doctors and nurses who had followed Boruto to the office spoke up, asking Sakura, "Do you know this person, Director?"

Sakura nodded and replied, "Yes, he's my student. I apologize for the interruption. You all can go back to your work."

"It's fine, we understand," one of the doctors responded, and the doctors and nurses left the room, leaving Sakura and Boruto alone.

Sakura turned her attention back to Boruto and asked, "Have you finished reading the books?"

"Yes," Boruto confirmed, as his clone had read all the books and even made new notes for him.

"Good. Now, follow me," Sakura said, getting up from her seat and leading the way.

Boruto followed Sakura, and before he knew it, they arrived at a room filled with patients with minor injuries and ailments. Sakura patted Boruto on the back and encouraged him, saying, "Do your best," before leaving him there.

Boruto couldn't believe Sakura had just left him without further instructions. He couldn't help but make a sarcastic analysis of her actions, thinking to himself, 'This must be that big-tiddied hag.'

Sighing, Boruto gathered his focus and resolved to do his best in healing the patients before him.

As Boruto observed the room, he noticed a patient who seemed to be in need of assistance. Seeing that no one was attending to the man, Boruto decided to step up and offer his help.

Approaching the patient, Boruto asked, "What is your injury?"

The man replied, "I have a broken bone. I think I broke my leg when I fell off a ladder." Curiosity piqued, the man inquired, "Who are you, kid?"

"I'm sort of an intern, I guess. I'm a student under the hospital's director," Boruto explained.

The man's face lit up with relief. "Oh, please help me. The other nurses seem busy," he pleaded.

Boruto created clones of himself and began the process of healing the man's broken leg. With skill and precision, it took him approximately five minutes to fully mend the man's injury.

Once the healing was complete, the man gingerly got off the bed and began to walk around, a grateful smile on his face. "Thank you, kid," he expressed his gratitude.

Boruto humbly replied, "No problem. You can leave now, but please wait for a nurse to perform a final checkup before you're cleared to leave."

The man nodded, appreciative of Boruto's care and attention. He followed Boruto's advice, patiently waiting for a nurse to conduct the final examination before being given the go-ahead to leave.

After finishing with the initial patient, Boruto cracked his knuckles and proceeded to heal the various minor injuries that could be treated using the Mystical Palm Jutsu. As he focused on his task, the nearby nurse, doctor, and a few interns took notice of his impressive abilities.

One particularly arrogant doctor couldn't help but interrupt. "Who are you, kid?" he sneered, his tone dripping with condescension.

Ignoring the doctor's attempt to belittle him, Boruto released a surge of chakra pressure directed solely at the doctor. The sudden display of power startled the arrogant doctor, momentarily silencing him.

Undeterred, the doctor mustered his confidence and retorted, "You don't have any certification, and you're just a little kid."

Boruto met the doctor's gaze without flinching. "So what?" he replied calmly, his focus unwavering. With his clones working in synchronization, they efficiently completed the healing process for the patient. Boruto turned to the patient with a warm smile. "You can go home now. Your injuries have been healed, but please wait for a nurse to perform an analysis, just to be on the safe side."

"Thank you," the patient expressed their gratitude before leaving.

"Can't you stop bothering me and focus on healing the other patients?" Boruto said, his irritation evident. However, his attention was quickly diverted when an emergency patient arrived, their chest slashed and blood pouring out.

The arrogant doctor and his group swiftly rushed to save the patient, emphasizing, "This is how certified doctors heal a patient."

Boruto rolled his eyes internally, realizing he was dealing with someone who prioritized ego over genuine care. Setting aside his annoyance, he turned his attention to another patient in need, focusing on treating those whose injuries could be addressed with the Mystical Palm Jutsu.

As the chaos unfolded, news spread among the injured patients about a rogue shinobi who was attacking innocent people due to having their title revoked by the Hokage. The doctor inquired, "Has the shinobi been apprehended?"

"The shinobi police are handling the situation, but there are many injured patients," the person replied, expressing the urgency of the situation.

Boruto overheard the conversation, his senses heightened by the gravity of the situation. He noticed that some of the interns were struggling to cope with the sight of so much blood and the overwhelming number of injured individuals.

While many of the injured were being attended to by doctors and nurses, some had to rely on the assistance of the interns and nurses. However, their limited chakra reserves and lack of experience in using the Mystical Palm Jutsu made it challenging for them to provide adequate care. Initially, they managed to heal the patients without depleting their chakra reserves.

However, as the situation grew more dire, Boruto made a decisive decision. Creating multiple clones, he swiftly moved to heal the injured individuals. Some of the interns and nurses attempted to stop him. But witnessing Boruto's efficiency and determination, they realized that he was their best chance at saving as many lives as possible. Instead of hindering him, they joined forces with him, assisting in any way they could.

"Clean up this patient," Boruto instructed one of the interns, pointing to a wounded individual who had already been treated. With that patient taken care of, Boruto swiftly moved on to the next person in need of his healing expertise. The scene was chaotic, but Boruto remained focused on his mission to help as many people as he could.

The nurses couldn't help but feel a sense of relief as Boruto took care of their workload. They were also astonished by the seemingly limitless chakra reserves that Boruto possessed, as they had never witnessed him stopping or showing signs of exhaustion.

Dealing with the various attitudes and behaviors of the patients was mentally exhausting for Boruto. He had to resist the urge to punch some of the more difficult and unruly individuals in the face, but he managed to keep his anger in check and maintain his composure.

After two hours of tirelessly treating patients, there were no longer any injured individuals with wounds or bleeding left in the room. Boruto took a well-deserved rest, finding a nearby bench to lie down on.

Feeling a bit guilty for having chased Boruto earlier, the nurses decided to show their appreciation and put a blanket over his body, ensuring he was comfortable during his rest.

As Sakura entered the room to check on the situation, she was taken aback by the sight before her. Most of the nurses were resting, and to her surprise, Boruto was fast asleep, covered with a blanket.

Approaching Boruto, Sakura was about to wake him up when one of the nurses spoke up. "Director, can you let him sleep a bit longer? He went all out in healing the patients for a solid two hours."

"Two hours?!" Sakura exclaimed, her astonishment evident.

"Yes, that's how long he dedicated himself to helping us," the nurse explained. "We didn't expect him to assist us, but he willingly went above and beyond."

Sakura realized that her initial intention was for Boruto to observe and learn, not to actively participate in patient care. "I just wanted him to observe and learn," she admitted. "I didn't anticipate him actually stepping in to help you all."

The nurse smiled warmly. "It's alright, we really appreciate his help. We've grown fond of him," she said, recalling the glimpses they caught of his muscular physique as he wiped away his sweat, revealing his defined six-pack.

After the brief conversation, Sakura gently woke Boruto up, causing him to instinctively ask, "Where is the next patient?"

Once he gathered his thoughts, Boruto realized it was Sakura who had awakened him. "Sakura-sensei?" he questioned.

"Come on, get up. Let's continue our lesson on Medical Jutsu," Sakura said, her voice filled with encouragement.

"Okay," Boruto replied, getting up from the bench and eagerly following Sakura, ready to resume their learning session.
