3 Chapter 3: Into the Systemverse

Note : This is my first ever fanfiction. English is my third language so don't expect the most flawless writing from me. I had this idea for quite some time & wanted to give it life, so I started writing. Any helpful feedback is appreciated. Also again I own nothing except my own skin & do not want to offend any party. I was as happy to learn about the system as I was surprised, because this meant I had a cheat to grow stronger without facing any bottlenecks, but it also meant whoever or whatever had given me the system could potentially observe me like a lab rat whenever it wanted.

But I don't want to be pessimistic & overthink it right now because there is no way I am not gonna use it to grow stronger quickly so that I can survive the daily shitstorm that this world is gonna throw at me.

So I focused again on the blue transparent system screen that had appeared in my vision to see the functions it offered.

Well the interface is quite simple & easy to understand although there is no store in the list which was kind of a letdown. But I shouldn't judge a book by its cover or should I say the system by its menu in this case, so I concentrated on each of the options on the screen.

|Anchored soul: The user is immune to all soul-based powers, meaning their souls cannot be manipulated in any way, including being observed, absorbed, destroyed, trapped/sealed, or converted into another type of soul|

Well that was certainly interesting, I don't know if I should be happy that I got some quite good powers from the get go or sad that some of the functions are still locked. You know what I am gonna be optimistic here & appreciate what was given to me instead of whining like a spoilt brat.

I seem to be a natural god by birth so there's that. Also the titles sound quite unique especially the last one. I am quite proud of that. Maybe they have some practical uses as well. I'll probably find out soon.

The soul & mind control immunity are especially good because that means I don't have to fear being manipulated against my will.

I also have to test the capabilities of the supernatural physique perk to test its current limits but going by its description it probably wouldn't disappoint me.

The alpha physiology will be quite useful as well as it will help me increase my physical abilities quicker & practically guarantees that I will be the strongest in my race. Although I am probably the only one of my so called race right now, so...

Maybe I have to focus on creating newer new god babies to unlock the pantheon option in my menu or something, although I am a little too young to be a father right now.

Wait how old am I again, shit even the system isn't telling any personal details to me. Even my name is greyed out.

Maybe I should call myself Darkseid to complete the new god theme..., nah it will probably be too cringy.

I also got a free gift pack, this is the reason why I love systems, they are so charitable. I hate those stupid protagonists who abuse their systems calling their systems useless despite getting so much help from them.

I think I should probably open it later in private. After all I don't know what will happen once I open it.

"My lord, are you all right?" Selene asked me with some worry seeing me blankly staring into space in deep thought.

I have probably already ruined my image as a cool dark entity in front of her due to me regularly spacing out in awkward silence. No I need to appear more godly & mighty to retain them as my followers. They can be of use to me, afterall everyone have their uses.

"Oh yes, I was actually thinking of how to reward you appropriately for your hard work, tell me what do you want?"

"I don't want any personal reward my lord, it would be too selfish of me. All I ask is your help in making sure that mutants like me and my brothers & sisters do not have to suffer anymore. I just implore you to accept us as your subjects and deliver us from this from the chaos & pain that we are goin to face in the future." the hot priestess requests me with a slight swaying of her breasts while still maintaining a serious expression on her face.

Hmm, that actually sounds mostly selfless even though she only talked about saving mutants and not anybody else. Truthfully I also want to help the mutants here because they are probably the unluckiest people in the verse and also there are quite a lot of hot babes among them but of course saving them from their cruel fates is the actual reason I wanna help them not their hot sexy bodies at all.

I mean they have to suffer from illegal experiments, xenophobic bacteria, stupid witch trials, torture loving secret organizations, idiotic humans blindly spreading hate against them for no apparent reason and so much more.

And the only hope they have of standing united against all these are two leaders who are probably lovers in secret, one being a wannabe Gandhi and another being a copycat Hitler..., wow that sounds really nasty.

No wonder the mutants are always the ones to suffer. They do not have any actually intelligent & powerful leader taking charge, and I am going to change exactly that by being what they need me to be.

The first actual mutant God saving them from the cruel world & delivering them to paradise. I know I know, I have such a big heart.

But I need to start small first. Instead of strong arming my way into conquering the world like an idiot, I need to be smart & do something so that people start to follow me themselves.

I would much rather pretend to be a hero to make people trust me & thus make me their leader than be a villain and try to conquer them.

After all its easier to lead a large flock of sheep by pretending to be their guard and saviour than trying to rule them by brute force.

With this in my mind I was going to start discussing with Selene on how to conquer the world smartly but before I could do that, there came a system notification.
