A new Commander Battlestar Galactica 2003

Woke up as the commander of the Battlestar Daedalus. There will be a few sex scenes so if you can’t stand them don’t read. Also I’m in no way good at writing such things so if you don’t like simply skip them.

Chapter 5

Well it's just hit the one week mark, seven days since this all started and that I came to this universe and I have had to make a great many cold and calculating choices over that time.

Gemenon and Sagittaron are basically simply gone and I most certainly was in no rush to stop that from happening when there were more useful worlds to try to keep around, it was basically save Caprica and lose Gemenon or Lose Caprica and save Gemenon. The choices were obvious to me as I simply liked Caprica better personally, maybe it was because of the Television series gave me a slight connection to it or something but I also preferred their progressive mindedness.

Nagalas fleet has gotten pounded pretty hard but it's still there and still fighting. I'm pretty sure he long since knew what I was doing at this point because he had been sending as many ships with civilians as possible to my direction and also added the Battlestar Aeres to my battle group. I happen to know that his adoptive daughter is on that ship and took the hint for what it was. Take them with you or else. Which I'm fine with as I liked the old cantankerous admiral anyways.

Roslin keeps trying to swear in a Quarum of 12 but I'm most certainly not supporting nor taking orders from them as they tend to cause more problems that they have any hope to fix plus I simply don't want to take orders from others. Bite me. Besides Admiral Nagala had declared martial law soon after the war began so the civilian government, such as it was, was in essence neutered.

Thankfully I have the support of the Commanders of my fleet as I'm certain, like myself, they have all been in contact with Nagala at one point or another throughout this.

On the shipyard aspect, while not ideal the crew did manage to get a jump drive attacked to a small dockyard, just enough to be able to build one of the Valkyrie class Battlestars given time and resources. Like I said not ideal but good enough for the moment. If we had time they may be able to take another section of the shipyard with us but I doubt it as we are leaving this sinking ship and leaving it soon. The only real question was how to add Six's and Eights fleet, realistically, with mine with the least amount of resistance from the public?

I have talked with Nagala enough by now and in depth enough about what I know and have done so far that he knows about all the human Cylons and has rooted them from his ships as well as the civilian fleet and remaining worlds as much as possible, he also knows about the Sixs and Eights and that they haven't actually committed their ships to the war against humanity and are in fact technically a rogue element even if they also technically own most of the Basestars, resurrection ships and the Hub. He doesn't know that last part though as it wasn't important to him in any way.

Eventually we devised a simple plan to get some kind of support, it wasn't any kind of genius or anything it simply amounted to the Six and Eight fleets jumping in behind the rest of the Cylon fleet when they move to 'finish us off'. In reality my allies 'partnered' with Cavil to destroy us once and for all but will betray him at the last second, pinning his fleet between the two of ours. It was a gamble and I had to show a shit ton of trust to Six not to nuke to me kingdom come. They only accepted this request because I asked(begged) to put a quicker resolution to this conflict.

I wasn't the only one who knew this plan, Trish has finally met Six when Nagala last came onboard during the time he added the Aeres to my battle group. He wanted to meet their representative and such before he agreed to any plan which was fine with me.

I practically had to come clean about or embellish a few things such as Six helping to remove the CNP and making sure it stayed gone, about them holding back their fleets and not attacking humanity. (Though I'm sure that was to secure their own power bases than actually helping humanity really.) He did not look overly enthusiastic about the fact that the technical enemy could still have had around 90 to 100 Basestars if the Sixs and Eights hadn't defected, he knew his fleet would have been destroyed that much faster, probably in the first acts of the war especially if the CNP was active.

The planned attack was scheduled to happen within the hour, Admiral Nagala would be in overall command of the fleet such as it was, a lowly 37 Battlestars of different classes against Cavils surviving 30 or less Basestars plus the others 60 or so. He was either too stupid or to arrogant to think they would betray him further it seemed either that or he was playing us all for idiots and was really a genius. Doubtful.

"DRADIS contact! Enemy Raiders!" My tactics officer frowned quickly. "Contact jumped away?"

That means the plan is in effect "prepare to fight your ship Commander. That is the signal decided upon that the enemy would be here in 30 seconds or so." She grimaced at that as the alarms started blaring. I sent orders to my Battlegroup to reaffirm what to do. Those orders basically amounted to don't shoot Baseships that are pinging friendly IFFs. I liked to keep things simple, can't confuse simple orders right?!

"DRADIS contact, Enemy Cylon fleet!" She cringed as she kept reading information. "Well don't keep the class waiting Lieutenant, what's the party looking like?" I asked slightly amused even knowing my ship could be hit harder than a piñata soon killing us all.

She just sighed, used to my personality by now I assume after years of serving on the same ship. It always amused me anytime I thought about it how many of my bridge crew looked like some of my favorite actresses for the most part, though I haven't really had a chance to investigate the rest of my crew yet.

My tactical officer had a sorta almost resemblance to Scarlett Johansson when she played Natasha Romanoff in the Avengers, more specifically during Ironman 2 if memory serves. Her face looks slightly if barely different but the red hair, slight Russian accent and definitely gorgeous as hell overall looks.

"Reading over 90 Baseships, hundreds of heavy raiders and tens of thousands of raiders.!" She rattled off clearly afraid. No way in hell we could match that number though she like the majority of the fleet simply didn't know the plan.

It's nice to be able to simply watch and not have to be overly involved unless I see something that is in need of attention. Such as ships potentially shooting at our allies. Hopefully Nagala would take care of that though.

"Orders from Atlantia, fire on any Cylon ship not firing a..? A friendly IFF?" She was obviously confused about the orders. Cylons in general were the enemy right?

"Orders to the battle group. Check fire, only fire on Basestars not using friendly IFFs anyone found shooting on friendly ships will be arrested and shot without question." Hopefully that would be one way to keep 'accidental' friendly fire at bay. Natasha(yup I went there again) just paled further finally coming to understanding. "Yes sir!" I grinned as nukes were beginning to be launched from all of our battle groups as well as quite a few thousand Vipers and Raptors to shoot down missiles. Though when a good chunk of those thought to be incoming missiles started to impact the enemy instead of moving onto the colonial fleet, the bridge was in a jubilant mood even if we still had hundreds of nukes and thousands of enemy fighters incoming even as they seemed to destroy each other.

Though like all good things they must end, the enemy fire stopped between the fighters as, I'm assuming anyways, the friendly raiders pulled off to go back to the fleet and defend their Basestars and help destroy the enemy Basestars as well. Still leaving over 6,000 raiders to deal with.

Oh how Cavil must be shitting a hemorrhoid right now. His fleet was basically already decimated as the first things targeted were the jump drives and bridges where possible making it difficult to escape though several did attempt to through sub-light not that it would avail them, they were all targeted by heavy raiders as well as every Raptor in the fleet once they began to make any headway, all armed with nukes of course. This was an all or nothing battle for survival so nobody held anything back, there was no saving ammunition for future battles, the name of the game was spamming.

But that's when missiles began to penetrate our defenses. Cavil knew he was frakked so seemed to ignore the enemy Basestars and only focused on destroying as much of humanity as possible. Even as his fleet disintegrated around him he moved into closer and closer range with the few still operating Basestars to his name and began hitting our vanguard at point blank range with nukes, mostly the Valkyrie classes as well as the last three Jupiter classes including the Galactica herself getting pounded hard. I also abstractly noticed the Pegasus going up in flames, shame that, really!

9 Battlestars of every class were nearly slagged or made useless in that last gambit alone, though the Galactica was still limping along even if she looked like her spine was broken and with that the last of the enemy Cylons were destroyed and relief efforts had begun.

Sorry I'm too lazy to write other peoples POV right now so you only get the MCs POV for now. I might go back through the story and add other peoples POV in the future though!

Opinions of adding the fictional characters and maybe others for the bridge crew? I haven’t really introduced most of the crew yet.
