1 Cayden, The Heavenly Demon

Southern Continent, The Immortal Realm.

There was a veil of pitch-black darkness covering the sky while frequent explosions and thunder would ring out, illuminating the lands and bringing an ominous feeling as if the end of the world was coming. The lands were shaking, fissures were emerging, winds were howling and suffocating pressure had enveloped the whole continent.

This has been going on for three days and nights during which lots of mortals and weaker cultivators had slowly died on the spot unjustly, not knowing why. There was no way to survive this calamity without having higher cultivation bases or affiliations with sects.

However, they were also not in a good condition. Everyone was fleeing away with pale faces by abandoning their foundations, leaving their sects behind. They were full of regrets and longing but there was nothing they could do. After all, being alive was the most important thing. Despite this, they still didn't have it easy since evil cultivators and their old enemies took this chance to sneak attack them for treasures.

Thus, the entire continent resulted in lawlessness and the one responsible for it was Cayden, the Heavenly Demon, known as the strongest man between heavens and earth.

At this moment, on an uneven barren land, full of pit holes and rocks, a middle-aged man having only a tiny piece of cloth covering his important area was looking in a certain direction arrogantly. He had tightly knotted muscles, long disheveled hair up to his back, devilish eyes, and S-shaped eyebrows, radiating boundless charm and majesty.

Currently, his well-built body had many burnt places and injuries. Every drop of blood he bled would make a hole into the ground, producing hissing noises as well. This showed how strong he was as even his blood was capable of killing people like ants.

That's why he was as confident as ever. He was glowing with a mixture of crimson and dark green color, radiating a tremendous cold amount of pressure that twisted and sucked the air like a vacuum. Ahead of him, there were six golden phantoms in the air, four old men and two middle-aged women.

They appeared grandeur with imperial clothes and crowns. One would immediately want to kneel and submit at the sight of them. They were emitting divine light that shone brighter than the sun. It was in stark contrast to the Heavenly Demon. The only thing similar between them was the strong sense of bloodlust that filled the air.

"Haha! Immortals? Is that it? It's just so so…" Cayden laughed mockingly while wiping the blood from the corner of his lips.

"Shut up! Filthy mortal! If not for the rules of this world restricting our main body, we would have easily taken care of you." A female immortal scoffed disdainfully.

"I see. No wonder you guys were so weak," he smiled and said, "Besides, it wouldn't have been fair if we fought like that. Why don't you let me break through to the immortal realm as well to make it even? Then we will continue in the upper realm."

"Humph! Do you think of us as fools? Furthermore, just because you are strong, doesn't mean that you can condense your divinity." One of the old men gazed at him like a fool.

"Haha! Do you think that I would believe that? I was already planning to go into seclusion for my ascension. But you guys stopped me at the right time. How can it be a coincidence?" Cayden bellowed in rage and snapped his finger.

Whoosh!

A tiny black-green-colored flame lit up on top of his index finger that was a thousand times stronger than the aura he was releasing.

Seeing this, all the immortals exclaimed in disbelief.

"Spark of Divinity!"

"Damn! He wasn't lying."

"We have to stop him right now. Or it will be devastating if he continues to grow."

"Indeed. Let me call for reinforcements."

They knew that killing him here was almost impossible with just a few of them. Recalling how the battle went on for a few days and how minimally they managed to hurt him, made them worried. Especially, after he had shown the spark of divinity.

As immortals, how could they not know what it represented? It contained beliefs of who knows how many people that feared him in the myriad realms. Once exploded, their incarnations might all perish here, resulting in their main body taking some heavy damage. So, one of the old men hastily created a talisman with his divinity and slapped it into the void.

Noticing everything, Cayden narrowed his eyes. "It looks like they didn't know about it at all. Don't tell me that they had another purpose for seeking me?"

"In addition, I seemed to have brought more attention." He took back his flame and stared at them carefully. Who knew what means the immortals had?

Catching his expression, the immortals became a bit relaxed. It would have been terrible if he had unleashed at them right away. Now, they only needed to buy some time for their support to arrive.

Thinking of this, an old man spoke. "Do you really want to know why we came here for your life?"

Cayden nodded his head in confusion. He always had this question because there had been no record of immortals descending back into the myriad realms. As an old monster who had lived for thousands of years, he couldn't have mistaken this.

"Humph! Don't you remember how you massacred my longevity sect?" The bloodlust of the old man became even stronger than the first time he met him.

"Which sect is that?" Cayden was puzzled. In his lifetime, he had destroyed who knows how many sects and inheritances. Therefore, making it impossible to remember the details of every single one of them.

"Bastard!" The old man was about to strike when the other one instantly signaled him to stop. "There is no rush. He is going to die here today. Think of the bigger picture."

Only after reprimanding, did he stop. But the fury in his eyes couldn't be contained. He was staring daggers at Cayden, wanting to eat him alive.

"Pussies. It looks like you guys are all here for revenge." Cayden scorned and questioned them. "After becoming immortals, why care about the mundane world? Moreover, I didn't know that you guys could still have contact remaining here."

"Of course! We do. All the great sects have means to contact the Divine Realm. Furthermore, we have received tons of requests from various factions to subdue you over these years." The old man clenched his fists and added, "Now, are you scared? There are already tons of enemies you have made in the Divine Realm before even reaching there."

"I understand." An eerie light flashed in his eyes as he thought of how all the sect masters he killed mentioned their ancestors would get their revenge. Those days, he didn't put that in mind. But at present, it was appearing to be true.

"Maybe they were held back by something. What's more, the talisman he used must have been to call for them." His mind worked fast as everything came into place.

"I should end this fast." Making up his mind, he jumped into the air and completely unleashed his cultivation base.

Honglong!

His injuries recovered in the blink of an eye and his aura became stronger and stronger, changing the colors of the sky as a result. Thousands of colorful threads, each one possessing different characteristic and humongous power emerged from the heavens and gathered around him.

Various visions of heavens and earth manifested in the sky like swords, flame, water, earth, divine beasts, and many more, making this the most magnificent sight to be seen in the Immortal Realm. No matter in which part of the world people lived, they were all able to witness this phenomenon.

"GOD has descended." This was what mortals thought while the strong cultivators knew that this was the power of laws and they couldn't believe it. How can there be someone capable of mastering thousands of laws?

Even the immortals had the same reaction. How was this possible? Their mouths were wide-open, and their faces became extremely ugly. There was only one thought running through their minds.

"He must be killed at any cost."

They waved their hands in the air and many weapons flickering with divine light appeared in their hands. Next, when they were about to begin, a large whirlpool suddenly came into existence above their heads.

From there, resentful curses were heard one after another.

"Mortal, I finally caught you. You dare kill all my children and temper your body through their blood?"

"You demon, where is my daughter? Did you kill her after marrying her? I was a fool to engage my daughter with you. I can't believe you fooled me with your scholarly look."

"Perverted beast, how dare you take the innocence of all my disciples? Afterward, you even absorbed all their essences, letting them die a gruesome death."

"Beast, I will torture your soul and refine your body into a puppet."

The curses went on and on while a hundred of golden phantoms popped up from there at the same time.
