Getting comfortable

When everyone heard Jackson ask if they were hungry their head immediately turn to him. "Hell yah man" Fred said as he stood up from the table following Jackson.

Jackson didn't wait for anyone's response it was clear as day they were hungry,he walked to the kitchen with Fred not far behind.

"Do you ready know how to cook?" Fred asked with his hand to his chin like he was thinking really hard.

"A little, my master made me sleep in the woods for 6 mouths so I had to learn to cook. Then when I got back I really learned to cook from a master chef that my master knew."Jackson answered without looking at Fred's scrunched up face.

"So your telling me you a master martial artist and a master chef!? Did you not have any free time?" Fred asked as he looked around the kitchen.

This made Jackson smile because most people would call him a workaholic, so no he didn't have any free time."you can say that, I just don't like sitting still is that a crime?" He asked as he looked through cabinets that had seasonings.

This made Fred chuckle to himself before answering."Its no crime, it probably saved everyone's life and to have a master chef as a leader is definitely a plus."

"Is that so? I have another question,what do you see when you look at this kitchen." Jackson asked as he opened his arms to the clean 25ft by 30ft kitchen.

(Kitchen size 25ft by 30ft, entering the kitchen you would see a long Island separating the room with stoves underneath, on the close left wall you would see a flat grill with counter space on both sides,next to that was a stove with 12 burners. On the far left wall lined up with cabinets and metal shelves holding different items, With a walk in freezer and refrigerator on back left of the room.

on the right of the room was a large single basin bowl sink with dishes lined the wall. Lastly on the back wall was more metal shelves holding nonperishables)

"Aaaaa a clean kitchen?" Fred answered back very confused." Ahh yes a clean kitchen there's really nothing suspicious here mmm? Look how clean it is almost unused?" He said as he slid his finger across a flat grill.

Fred began inspecting closer to see how there wasn't even a spec of dust or a trace that someone cooked here."ok now that you mention it that it weird. But what happens if they just built and they just got situated before the apocalypse, you never really now." Fred explained.

Jackson began opening every cabinet and pantry to only find basic restaurant stuff like dishes or cleaning supplies. That's when Jackson stoped in front of the freezer, Fred seeing Jackson standing there walked over, "what's up man this place has power so everything in there should be good right?" Fred asked as he stared at the metal door.

"Maybe? I was just thinking about some old zombie move that's all."Jackson replied as he waved one hand as he opened the door with another.

Opening the freezer to see frozen meats and other frozen goods Jackson started grabbing the ingredients he needed to make his famous beed stew. Fred watching Jackson grab different ingredients without a real order he just stood there watching.

"Do you know how to cook?" Jackson asked as he placed all his ingredients on the on the table.

"Yes I do, what do you need me to do?" He asked without showing any emotion but he really wanted to help but didn't what to be in the way.

Jackson placed Carrots,onions,mushrooms and celery in front of Fred."chop and cook those till there lightly brown, then throw them into this pot,

it will speed up my cooking process." He said as he put a pot on a stove and turned it on putting water in it.

"Can do!" Fred said with a smile as he got to work looking for a knife and the right pan to cook with. When he turned to look at Jackson was already cooking making the room full with a delicious smell of spices and cooking meat. Not wanting to get to far behind he quickly chopped all the vegetables into small chunks and began cooking.

After 5 minutes after chopping,he was done cooking the vegetables so he put them into the pot like Jackson said. when he did he released what Jackson was making it was beef stew with extra stuff added making it smell even better.

As Fred looked away from the pot he seen Jackson walking over with cooked chunks of meat so he quickly moved it the way."you did a great job Fred, but I need one more thing please pass around bowls and silverware to everyone" Jackson asked as he walked back to the flat grill he just got done cooking the meat on.

"Of course! not a problem I'll let everyone know dinners almost done." Fred answered as he walked over to a cabinet full of bowls. "Thank you and don't go upstairs there changing they will be down when there done." Jackson said as he started cooking.

Fred walked out passing around bowls with forks and spoons next to them. Everyone said thank you as he passed around the bowls making Fred feel better around everyone.

After another 5 minutes Jackson walked out with a big pot 6in tall and 6in wide, placing it on a table in front of everyone."dinner is served! Don't take more then two bowls till everyone has eaten." Jackson announced as he made a bowl for himself.

Everyone was getting hungrier by the smell so they lined up in single file line getting there food.After the first few people grabbed there food and being eating you could hear them enjoying the food. Some even said complaints as they ate.

Jackson quickly ate his food putting it close to the pot, to come back for seconds later.he wanted to check on Jasmine, but as he was walking toward the stairs he saw jasmine and not far behind was clementine and Jessica. "Hay I was about to let you guys know dinner was done" Jackson said as he walked over.

Hearing the word (dinner) and smelling something good in the air the three girls felt like they were starving."please food sound like heaven." Jessica replied as she walked with clementine in hand.

"I'm so hungry" clementine said as she walked over to the pot full of food getting a bowl from Jessica.

"Food sounds great right about now." Jasmine said as she walked over to the pot of food with Jackson.

When everyone tasted the food they couldn't stop eating it was a home cooked meal in the zombie apocalypse they couldn't ask for a better meal.

After everyone eaten their second bowl Jackson pasted around a 3rd for people who wanted it. After everyone eaten there was no beef stew left which didn't surprise Jackson in the slightest.

"Now that everyone's full I will tell everyone the new plan." When Jackson announced this everyone moved closer giving Jackson their full attention.

"The plan is rest. we covered a lot of ground in one day not to mention we had to push through a horde of zombie. So with that being said rest up but don't forget not to make to much noise we can't be to carful nowadays." Jackson announced to everyone looking at there relieved faces after hearing the news.

"So we can do whatever we want?" Ema asked with her hand raised." You can do whatever you want just don't go into the kitchen we don't need anything going missing I'll be making breakfast in the morning so if you get hungry please wait we can't be waisting any food." Jackson replied making the little girl run over to clementine's side to start chitchatting. This made Jackson smile a little glad clementine had a friend.

Snapping him out of his thoughts was jasmine grabbing his arm and pushing her body against his.

"You trying to smoke with me and Tom?" Jasmine asked as she showed off a joint. This made Jackson think about it for a minute, then he looked Tom's direction to see him waving him down with felicity sitting next to him.

It made Jackson smile. Which made him notice how much he was smiling lately compared to before the apocalypse."Yah sure I'm down" Jackson replied as he started walking toward Tom.

Jasmine never liked smoking alone, she thought the more the merrier. but when Jackson smoked she seemed to enjoy herself more then not she didn't know why herself. So hearing his answer she couldn't help but smile. Making everyone notice how close she was with Jackson.

Jackson noticed everyone looked at him but he didn't mind he was used to being stared at because of his body. "I heard there's a party over hear!" Jackson said with a smile as he sat down on the opposite side of the table with jasmine to his right. Tom replied with a smile of his own,

"You could call it that".

Right as Tom lit the joint 3 more people walked over sitting at the table. First it was Fred sitting next to Jackson with Lori not far behind, lastly was Jessica sitting next to jasmine. "it's a real party now." Jasmine said with a smile that hasn't faded since Jackson said he would smoke.

"You don't mind if we join do you?" Fred asked as he made himself comfortable. "The more the merrier." Tom replied making jasmine quickly add,

"That's what I say!" Making even laugh a little.

With everyone smoking in silence with nothing more then a chitchat now and again Tom broke the silence,"so I've seen you two hanging out more often what's that about?" Tom asked already knowing the answer but wanted it to be confirmed.

The question made everyone look at Jackson waiting for his answer. Jackson noticing everyone's gaze fixated on him but he didn't care in the slightest. "Yah thats right and it's exactly what it looks like" he replied without showing a hint of embarrassment but jasmine started blushing.

"But I also noticed you and felicity spending a lot of time together also Lori and Fred. What's that about?" He asked with a grin on his face as he shrugged.

Tom fully expected his question but Lori and Fred weren't."me and felicity enjoy each other's company thats all" Tom replied with a straight face not showing any emotion. But Lori was blushing as she looked down."Me and Lori are going out" Fred said with a smile not showing any of his embarrassment.

This made the group laugh at Fred's replay. Such a straight forward replay was unpredictable.

"This was a fun party, but I think I want to go to bed, but I'll bring down everything that anyone might need from the room I take." Jackson said as he stood up walking toward the stairs with jasmine not far behind.

"You know you don't have to follow me" Jackson said as he kept walking."are you going to stop me? Jasmine replied with a cheeky grin."nope! do what you will." He replied as he walked up the stairs.

"So which room will we be taking?" Jasmine asked as they finished climbing the stars. "probably the room I got my close from,so they can have the bathrooms in the other rooms. He replied as opened the door.

Looking around to see what anyone could use, searching the closet to find 2 comforters.

"can you grab some pillows we don't need that manny I'm going to give these blankets to the children." Jackson asked to see jasmine nod and grab some pillows following him down the stairs back into the dining room. Jackson looked around the room to see Zeke walking over to him.

"Just the man I was looking for! These are for your daughter." Jackson said as he handed zeke a pillow and a comforter before Zeke could ask anything. "aaaaa thanks? but I wanted to ask you how the room situation is working?" Zeke asked as he tried getting a good grip on the pillow and comforter.

"Thank you for reminding me." He said as he took a couple steps past zeke then cleared his throat getting half the rooms attention doing so."everyone listen closely there's only 3 bathrooms including the on down here. so all the rooms with bathroom everyone has to keep the door open for anyone who needs to use the bathroom. But as far as the beds go I care, you can figure it out, me and jasmine are taking the only room without a bathroom." Jackson announced as he walked over to clementine.

No one could complain with Jackson's reason for keeping the door open so there was no complained. Jackson walked up to clementine who was running around with Ema."hay Clem I need to know where your going to sleep tonight?" Jackson asked as he kneeled down eye level to her.

"Can I sleep with Jessica tonight?" She asked as she looked around for her." That's not something you ask me." He said as he stood up walking over to Jessica.

Clementine ran over to Jessica"hay mrsJessica you mind if I sleep next to you tonight?" She asked with puppy dog eyes."of course you can." She replied with a warm smile.

Making Jackson turn to her"There two beds up stairs if it was up to me clementine and Ema should get a bed. but that's up to you guy to sort out, Worse case scenario you let her in my room.and thank you for always helping me with clementine." Jackson said as he gave her the blanket and pillow walking away with jasmine.

Arriving at the room Jackson bellyflopped on the bed making a loud noise but he didn't care it wasn't loud enough to draw to much attention.

Jackson rolled over to his back to see jasmine walking over to the left side of the bed getting in the bed with him so Jackson made room for her.

Jasmine was a foot shorter then Jackson not to mention his muscle so if she wanted to she could lay on Jackson if she wanted to. Jackson pulled jasmine close as he closed his eyes. Jasmine was caught off guard by the sudden affection but she didn't mind in the slightest.

So they fell asleep cuddling each other close while everyone else found there spot to sleep and slept the night away with a full stomach and fresh out he shower.

But outside restaurant within the city the hordes where only getting bigger by the day and with no military who would stop it?
