39 Chapter 39: Narcissist's Basketball 3
The court fell into sudden silence.
Except for the dribbling of the ball, no one had words to explain what just happened. Even the ticking of the wristwatches could be faintly heard as spectators already forgot to breathe.
How and when did that happen?
Did the ball just transported into the basket or it was all just an illusion?
Whatever it was, it was just-
"Amazing…" A word escaped from Utaha's word.
"Seiya-senpai…" Eriri was in same state.
The two girls were just petrified by the display of Seiya's skill even if they are not into sports.
"Kanie-kun…" On other hand, Mafuyu Kirisu can't help but awe in shock. Was that a move of a high schooler or a legend was just playing for fun? She can't decide.
"A-awesome…"
"This is so great!"
"Kanie-kun cant be a simple player!"
"Yeah, it was the move of a legend!"
"Whoo! I can't believe that we had such a gem hidden in the school!"
"Kya! I am feeling so hot!"
"Me too! I am going to confess Seiya-senpai!!"
"Me too!!!"
It was then the whole court started to cheer Seiya.
On other hand in the court, Kise simply doesn't have words to describe Seiya anymore. As the ace of the team and a rare talent itself, he knew that Seiya now has become an indestructible and unbreakable wall that he simply can't hope to even make a tint.
"So."
Kise suddenly snapped out when he heard Seiya's annoying voice and saw him standing for the defense.
"If you don't want to play then you can simply give up," Seiya said pointing at the ball lying under Seiya's basket. It was then he realized that he had already missed 3 seconds delay.
He was a little angry as Seiya was now looking down on him however he knew he can't waste any more time. He picked the ball then ran towards his side of the basket.
He spotted Seiya, he passed Seiya as the guy didn't even bother to move from his position but…
"Where is the ball?" Kise widened his eyes as the ball from his hand just disappeared. He immediately turned around and saw Seiya holding the ball.
"Tehee~!" Seiya tugged his head acting cute and then turned his aim towards his goal. "Don't mind if I do~!"
While standing on the middle court line, Seiya jumped lightly and tossed the ball in the air.
"B-BAKANA…!" Shinya jumped from his seat when he saw the ball rising high in the sky.
The ball rose so high that it almost collided with the roof however it barely kissed the beam of the ceiling before losing the force and started diving down.
How could anyone aim for such an impossible shot when he could have scored an easy three-pointer?
It was then Shinya realized that it was the new legend he was talking about since the ball perfectly passed through the basket.
It was another three-pointer!
Seiya 41-46 Kise
"Ghe!" Kise gritted his teeth and ran for the ball.
Seiya? He was just standing for the defense smiling as he had already won the match.
Kise was just outside the three-pointer line of the Seiya's basket when again Seiya appeared out of nowhere and stole the ball out of his hands.
Seiya smiled and jumped a little for the three-pointer but Kise was not gonna allow that.
"No way, I am allowing that!!" Kise roared and jumped with his full might covering Seiya's vision but the grin from that guy's face didn't face away.
"Is that so?!" Seiya grinned and bend in the air and lightly tossed the ball. This time he just raised the trajectory in the air.
Kise could only see the ball flying over him and then ultimately falling in the basket.
Seiya 45-46 Kise
"It's another three-pointer!" Eriri along with Utaha jumped from their seats along with every single student watching the game intensely.
Kise is now left with no option to defend his goal. There was no tactic he could use except that to struggle.
As Seiya leaves for the defense, Kise picked the ball and sprints right towards his basket. However, Seiya still was able to get the ball right in front of his eyes.
This time Kise made his mind to stop Seiya from dunking the ball only.
He tried to block Seiya or take the ball from his hand but he knew that it was pretty impossible as the man easily took the ball towards his basket but…
Seiya suddenly took a turn opposite the basket.
Not only Kise but every single soul was confused about his action until he casually tossed the ball back.
Kise again could only see the ball spinning above him before the ball eventually passed into the basket.
It was another stunning dunk!
Seiya 46-46 Kise
"Kanie-kun is now even…" The last dunk even turned stoic Mafuyu Kirisu's face into complete shock. She was wondering if the guy even was even human or simply too talented.
'I can't waste time!' Kise didn't wait even for a second before taking the ball and running towards his basket.
Unbeknown to him, a golden spark left his eye when he was running for the dunk.
"So you decided not to give up?"
Seiya's voice entered his ear as he found the guy right beside him.
"I would never!" Kise grunted as he ran towards his basket but Seiya, again rolled around him like he was dancing in the court and before Kise realized, just like last time, the ball was gone from his hands.
"Good for you!" Seiya screamed and spun his arm in 360 degrees throwing the ball in the air.

The spectators weren't even surprised and they started to celebrate early since the ball thrown by Seiya's hands can't possibly miss the target.
And that's what happened. The ball covered the whole court before jumping into the basket.
Seiya 49-46 Kise
"N-no this can't be…" Kise mumbled before falling on his knees.
It's over.
Even if one and a half minutes is remaining, he can't possibly win against such a monster. His ability to copy the techniques was just a joke.
"Come on Kise!!!"
"You can still do it!!"
It was then he heard some familiar voices that belong to his teammates.
"Kise!"
Then someone called his name again, it was captain Yukio Kasamatsu.
"I will kick your ass if you give up now! Get your ass up and fight to the end!!"
Kise widened his eyes and then the words from Seiya's mouth started to run in front of him.
He had faced Seiya in the second year of Junior High and left a bitter taste in his mouth. Not only that, he remembered Seiya from his childhood. Seiya was just a genius all around his youth, there was never once a time that guy loses to anything. Always shining brighter than anything in Kise's life and before he knew he challenged Seiya, not out of friendship, not to beat him, it was not to settle scores but it was pure jealousy and revenge.
However not now! He had enough of this! He is playing for fun! He is playing for his teammates!! And because he loves basketball!!!
It was at that moment, sparks ticked from Kise eyes and before anyone knew, Kise disappeared with a yellow line leaving his eyes.
"Whoa!" Even Seiya was shocked as Kise passed him with abnormal speed.
"I haven't given up!!!!" Kise roared, picked the ball, and spun his arm 360 just like Seiya and even scored the dunk!
"YEAHHH!"
The whole basketball team jumped with joy when they saw Kise joining the game again.
"That's fun."
Even Seiya was surprised to see Kise entering the zone so early. Guess his lines worked well and he was able to make Kise enter the Zone.
"The match isn't over yet!" Seiya called and picked the ball. He was in no mood to lose this game.
Seiya then runs like a lightning bold for his basket.
"I won't let you get away this time!!" Kise came forward and tried to shake away the ball but Seiya was still the master of basketball as he beautifully drive the ball out of Kise's defense before finally reaching his basket.
"Give up blondie!" Seiya said and jumped.
"GO SEIYA!!!" He then heard his girlfriend's and Eriri's cries and saw them holding their hands with tears in their eyes. Not only them but a lot of other students were happily cheering for him.
Seiya smirked and just as he was about to basket the ball, a hand clenched the ball on his hand.
"Give up? Fuck you!!!" Kise yelled while pouring all his strength to stop the ball.
"No Kise," Seiya smirked, "Fuck ME!"
Seiya then gave all his strength, destroyed Kise's claw, and smashed the ball into the basket!
It was Seiya's win.

The whole basketball court erupted with cheer for these two gems!
"WAAA!!!" Both Utaha and Eriri jumped from their seats and hugged each other while crying for the victory of their crush/boyfriend.
Shiro and Shinya were watching from waiting benches were also in tears after watching such a thrilling match in front of their eyes.
'Even I can…' Mafuyu also had tears in her eyes. She started to remember her days of glory when she used to win in ice-skating. Those were her golden days.
As for Kise, he could only see Seiya's smiling face facing his friends on the bench while falling from the height.
'Now I see why he is always confident about his skills. This guy is never coming to battle unprepared. He always has motives. He always has goals to show his audience, his friends, and his loved ones. But…'
Kise finally hit the floor but didn't feel anything. His whole body was so numb, devoid from any life that he couldn't even move his lips to speak to Seiya that…
'Thank you, Seiya for such a wonderful match. You are the man of commitments and also a liar hiding your true intentions. However, you have far surpassed every generation of miracles and you have earned my respect…'
Those were Kise's last thoughts before his consciousness faded away.
