2 CHAPTER TWO:The Longing For A Mom.

Damien Kings came  out of his car with a sigh escaping his lips, when he remembered how he had wronged his five year old daughter all day.

This morning,he had escaped to work without checking up on her,the second time had been when he was signing a new contract with the investors, that had taken an interest in the company.she had called which he gave the call to Jack to answer.

Now,lastly,he was back without calling back after Jack had answered the call and explained to her how busy he was.

Daisy was no ordinary five year old,she was so smart, charming and matured for a kid her age that he didn't question her paternity, because she's the striking resemblance of him and everything he had to offer as Damien Kings.

He was the happiest man for having such a gorgeous daughter, which he would  give everything and anything just to make her happy.

But that couldn't deny the fact that something was missing in both their life, something important which had been the reason he had avoided Daisy today, and he was feeling remorseful for doing that.

A mother?

That's what daisy longed for,and her patience was running low with him for his constant promises to get her a mom.

Can he hire a mother?

Which was not a question,he had tried to fool Daisy countless times by bringing two ladies, which he pretended he was in love with, just to make daisy happy.

First was Nora, she was such a gold digger who he had taken along to parents' day to Daisy's school so as to not make her feel bad.

But who was he kidding?

Daisy had seen through the camouflage, that he was not in any way acquainted with such a golddigger that stole  her diamond necklace, which he gifted her on her fifth birthday.

That was the end of Nora, and then coming to the second lady who gave up willingly when she couldn't handle Daisy's tantrums.

She has left the house, before he even came back from work that day with  Daisy telling   him about how she had disgraced herself, when she insisted she prepared Lunch for her even after nanny Mary asked her not to do that.

He wanted to make his daughter happy, but he had come to realize that he was only putting her life in danger, because who knows the next person that he would introduce to her as a mother wouldn't hurt his kid.

Daisy wanted a mother,a real mother which he couldn't and was not ready to provide at the moment, not  after what emotional pain and  damage her real mother had caused him.

Nancy did more harm than  good to him, and also to their daughter which she had termed a nuisance in her life, because she was not ready to settle down back then.

Damien knew how toxic it was, for his daughter growing up to have such a mother,so he did what he had to do.

He paid her off, that was what she wanted and had gladly taken  it and left without having a second thought,or turning to give her child a last look.

That had been the starting point of his hardened heart towards the opposite sex, because he didn't find any reason to believe that other girls were any difference from his Daisy's mother.

They all wanted his money.

Hungry little sluts, which he did the needful as a warm blooded human being,he pays them for the service they rendered.

Aside from that, love was not in the picture and he intends on keeping it that way till further notice, but the question was how?

Daisy wants something which he wasn't ready to provide any time soon, he had a mistake once and was not planning on doing that again.

Tiptoeing into the sitting room, while glancing at the chair to see that she was not there, which gave him the initiative that she was asleep.

He let out a deep breath and touched his racing heart, who knew the great Damien  Kings was scared of his five year old daughter?

"You are late"The tiny, melodious voice of his daughter who had all along being watching him from upstairs, made him know he has  been caught.

Game over.

"Hi pumpkin"He waved his hands at her, while she rolled her eyes before descending down the stairs, with holly in her hands to stop in front of him with her other hand on her waist.

"Did you miss daddy?"He asked, bending down to her level, and nearly burst out laughing, but he knew it wasn't a laughing matter with the look she had on her face.

She was so dramatic, that it was really funny watching her stand akimbo with an angry face, that was going to diffuse anytime soon.

"Did you miss Daisy?"She retorted back, making him know what she meant about avoiding her all through today.

Placing both hands on her shoulder with a remorseful look on his face,he looked up to find her waiting to hear him talk"I'm so sorry princess, dad was ..busy"He lied, while trying to avoid talking about the reason he did that.

Knocking his hand off her shoulder, she yelled"Family don't lie to each other!"She reminded him.

"Sorry princess, daddy's sorry okay?''He apologized sincerely this time, there was no deceiving Daisy and he knew it.

It hurts seeing her this way.

"Am i forgiven? Papa is really sorry"He asked with a smile, which surprisingly, she didn't bulged or intend on changing her mind anything soon.

"Uh.. that's not how  daddy's princess behaves "He said, tickling her sides which she yelped and ended up laughing, while  pleading with him to stop.

He scooped her up into his arms, and walked to the couch and sat down, combing his way through her hair with his fingers.

"I'm sorry i made you wait up to this time, and i promise,I won't do that again, cross my heart"He apologized honestly, and got  a peck on his  cheek from Daisy.

"Apology accepted papa"she smiled.

"As a result of you forgiving papa, I'm taking you out tomorrow"He suggested.

"Seriously?"Daisy asked with widened eyes.

"Yeah"

"Yay!"She came down from his lap, while eluding in happiness over what her dad just said.

"I need to tell Jessica about this"she said, and regretted saying it out loud.

"What? Princess is past eight,no phones"He complained checking his wristwatch.

"Dad this is Jessica and not some boy, chill ''She kissed his cheeks and ran away with holly in her hands before he could say anything again.

Damien was stunned at her words, how does a five year talk to him as if she was eighteen?

God help him with Daisy, because she's definitely going to be the death of him,but anyway,he was glad she didn't bring up the topic about a mom.

Which he knew,  it was just for this night because tomorrow,Daisy would bring up the topic again and God help him to know what exactly to tell her.

Damien Kings, what are you going to do?
