An Authors Sentiment

Who are you?

This question marks the start of every journey. Whether it be in an imperial fort in Skyrim or at the start of a book this is the first question a reader poses to the main character.

As for me, my name does not matter. I was an author living in southern Kyoto. I'd publish a chapter, eat then sleep. Then rinse and repeat. Why was I publishing chapters for a living you may ask. To that I would answer it was my only sense of income I had left. After my brother died all the debt he had was transferred to me so this was the only way I could pay off the debt. Unlike my brother who was talented in all fields, I was only good at being an author.

Every passing day, I started becoming unable to write chapters causing debt collectors to increase pressure on me to pay up. Sure, I was alive but saying I was living was a stretch saying I was barely surviving would be more appropriate. I hated myself for cursing my brother for giving me this debt. I remember the day I decided to stop struggling. I took a deadly amount of drugs and went to bed. I was hoping I would die in my sleep. After all apart from me and my brother I had no other family I felt as if I was getting the last laugh against those measles.

After I fell asleep, I slept for a while. I was surprised when I woke up. The first thing I thought was that I underestimated the dosage I needed to kill myself. Then I looked at my surroundings and saw a desk, a bed, a mirror, a shelf full of books and a sofa. This was definitely not my house it seemed akin to a college dorm. I thought I could be kidnapped but it's not like I had any money or relatives worth holding me ransom. I got up and looked in the mirror. I saw a boy probably about 15 with white hair and purple eyes. I then looked down and saw as the boy in the mirror also looked down.

My hands had also changed to look identical to the boy in the mirrors hands, Finally it all clicked, I was in the body of a 15 year old boy. I was the 15 year old boy. Was this god giving me another chance or was this a never-ending dream. Honestly I didn't care. I cried, finally I had escaped that shithole, I was free. I took a pledge to myself that this time I wouldn't just live, I would thrive.

I walked to the desk and noticed it had a nameplate on it. The nameplate read Tamashi Muko. That must be my name. I grabbed a book from my desk sat down on my couch and began reading.

This book was a training manual however what was more important than the content of the book was it's cover. As it said 'Tain academy training manual'. Tain academy was the academy the main character went to at the start of my novel. Tain academy was more than a prestigious academy. It was the number 1 academy in the world of my novel. I was very excited however I told myself to hold on before blindly believing I was in my novel. The academy names could be the same. The real test would be whether the mc and his harem were present in class.

Secretly a part of me was hoping I was not in my novel and the names of the academies being the same was just a coincidence. This was because Tamashi Muko was a name I never wrote whilst writing my novel meaning I was either an extra or worse a mob.

I had mixed feelings about transmigrating into the body of a nobody. I was happy I didn't transmigrate into the main character's body. The main character was both a problem magnet and a chick magnet. Definitely not ideal. However, I wasn't that happy to be in a mob's body either.

As I was reading the book an announcement was telecasted saying "All cadets of Tain make your way to your respective classroom." I gradually got up from my sofa and opened the door. I was greeted with a long, huge hallway expanding for a large area. I didn't know what my class was so I just went to the main character's class hoping it was my class.

As I entered the classroom I saw a beautiful woman with orange hair and blue eyes. It was the main characters first female lead. This meant I was really in my novel 'Journey to power'. I sat at the end of an Isle of seats in the backmost row. If I wanted to not attract problems it was best to sit here as far away from the main characters as possible.

10 minutes later a professor enters the class. It was Professor Margret. Professor Margret looked like a weak 40 year old woman however she was actually an S rank fighter. In her younger days they used to call her the tiger of Tain.

She said "Hello students, my name is Margret. You may call me Professor Margret. I will be your teacher for your first year at Tain. Anyway that's enough about me I'd say it's time for Introductions."

"Cadet rank 1756, Tamashi Muko" Said Professor Margret

"Present" I responded with.

...(10 minutes later)

"Cadet Rank 5, Julia Dyami" Said Professor Margret.

"Present" she responded with. Julia Dyami was the second female lead she specialized in physical attacks. Despite this she was not tomboyish rather kind but cold. She was known for her blue hair and silver eyes.

"Cadet rank 4, Yoru Magin " Said Professor Margret.

"Here" said Yoru. Yoru was the third and last female lead. She specialized in magic. She was an incredibly talented mage. She was known to be Warm and Kind to her friends but cold and hostile to her enemies. She had long blonde hair and black eyes.

"Cadet rank 3, Vanos Steliar" Said Professor Margret.

"Present" responded Vanos. Vanos was the main characters rival he was incredibly powerful and gifted in both magic and swordsmanship. Unfortunately for him he had a rivalry with the only person more talented in both magic and swordsmanship than him. He had black hair and red eyes.

"Cadet rank 2 Dianna Gast " Said Professor Margret.

"I'm here" responded Dianna. Diana was the main female lead she was the one with brown hair and blue eyes. She was the best archer in the novel. It took a lot of effort to get into her good books but once she acknowledged you as an ally. She was a reliable and trustworthy ally.

"Cadet rank 1, Cade Von Trent" Said Professor Margret.

Bursting into the room Cade said "Present Professor".

"Don't come late again Cade" said Professor Margret.

"Yes, Professor."

Cade was the main character of 'Journey of power'. Golden eyes, golden hair and a lean body. He was talented and powerful. Cade was currently powerful only because of his natural talent. In the novel there were multiple artefacts and powerups he got. Because of the pressure those debt collectors gave me I made him way too overpowered.

For context the demon king was killed by Cade in less than a second. As an author I'd say it's my responsibility to even out the field and correct my mistakes. Cade will still be powerful even if I take away a couple of his artefacts right. There are 40 cadets in my class so I'll blend in as a mob.

Interrupting my thoughts Professor Margret said "Now that introductions are over it's only right that we the prestigious school of Tain reward you cadets for passing the entrance exam".

Hearing her words even though I didn't realise it a smirk formed on my face.

That's the end of chapter 1 hope you liked it.
