7 Ch 7 No Magic ?
Chapter 7
When I got to Kathmandu I didn't walk through the streets murmuring Kamar-Taj like Dr. Strange, I went to the various temples and monasteries asking about magic and Kamar-Taj.
None of them could help me and some tried to trick me into donating my money to them for magical secrets.
But I know that I just need to find someone who is a student of Kamar-Taj to lead me there.
Down the street, by all the people with colored robes, I see a tall ginger man with an unruly ginger beard and spiked hair.
His Intricate hooded robes juxtaposed by his pale skin, on 2 of his fingers I see a sling ring from the movies.
Gotcha
I walk down the street calling out "Sir, yes you the Irishman" I say pointing at him, he looked confused.
"I'm having trouble finding my way to Kamar-Taj. Can you guide me?" I asked.
"Sure sonny, I don't recognize you how did you know I'm a sorcerer" he asked
"Well you are a bit different than the others around here, and you're wearing a sling ring"
"You're quite well versed in our practices but don't know your way around, strange never mind I'm Master Patrick"
"Thanks, Master Paddy I'm Chen Yang from China, I'm looking for instructions on the mystical arts to fight against a future threat" I said as he led me to an old but inconspicuous wooden door.
"A soothsayer I've never met one before, I'll bring you to meet the ancient one" he said with a nod.
He took me to a room with the obligatory old man, with the real Ancient One pouring tea in the corner.
I walked up to the old man and said "What's your name?"
Paddy walked up behind me with a grin and said
"Ancient One has no name"
"I was just being polite I know that she's the ancient one" I said with an even bigger grin
He frowned and walked out as the real Ancient One came and gave me a cup of tea
"Your visit is a nice surprise, who are you if I may ask? You seem to know a lot" she asked me.
"I'm Chen Yang a Chinese soothsayer and tea maker"
I take a sip of tea "It needs to be stirred more while it brews, anyway I need to learn magic so I can save the universe"
She looks at me for a second
"You're quite well informed, but why should I teach you magic"
"Well you can have this" I say as I hand her a cup of tea brewed by my brother, he really is the best of us when it comes to tea.
She looks puzzled as she accepts the tea
"I have an ability to store anything in a timeless state in a pocket dimension" I say as she sips the tea
"This tea is amazing, one of the best cups I have ever had, did you make it ?" she beamed as she spoke. She must love tea.
"No it was my brother, he runs a tea house in Fu-Chou called the Teahouse with your portals you could visit anytime" I said proudly.
"I think I might, anyway back to magic I will accept you as an apprentice of the mystic arts, first I need to open your mind" She says as she puts a thumb to my forehead
But nothing happens, she then starts feeling up around my chest with a frown.
"What's wrong" I ask
"Just give me a moment" said the Ancient One frowning even more
"I have an ability that should keep me safe from mind control and keeps me calm maybe its that" I said thinking maybe Gamers Mind was affecting it
She stepped away still with a frown
"No I'm afraid that it goes beyond that your Heart Chakra is shattered beyond repair" She said
"What does that mean" I said with panic similar to what I felt when I was told I'm going to Super Hell.
Gamers mind me calms me down but panic keeps on slipping through, if she says what I think she'll say, years of planning go out the window.
"It means you will be unable to practice or channel magic"

This has been part of the plan since the beginning
I think magic is just a crutch for many fictions out now
I like well defined power systems and the MCU magic sucks at that
I mean the first spell you learn is literally the perfect Offense, Defense and evasion skill all in one
A bit OP at beginning of a novel like this
But down worry mc can still become OP with no magic I have been dropping hints at various methods to get stronk
