Chapter 31: Two Dark Magic Inheritors

As someone who got the purplish dark ball that fell up into Earth. Jayden received some knowledge regarding the history of the dark ball.

The dark ball had the name Darkweaver or the Grim God Reaper, as some called it. It was an ancient and powerful relic created by killing millions of beings across the universe who have unique dark magic and Jayden knew its history since it was stored and any inheritor will access it.It also has a fragment of a being that could control death itself, enslaving lesser beings and bending them to its willpower, which was enough for him to have armies of beasts.

But humans were more difficult to control, as they were sentient beings. The dumber a being was, the easier it was for Darkweaver to enslave their consciousness.

With that power, he was able to turn most of the beasts into his army and made them hunt a lot of other beasts or humans for runes faster for him which has made him level up but that style made it hard for him to have any fighting skills since he was more like a greenhouse boy being spoon feed. Back to the gist, what shocked him was he could feel the exact power from Morningstar as soon as that zombie energy was sucked dry which made his eyes widen in glee, in fact, it was the higher grade of his energy type!

From the inherited memories in Jayden's mind. If he could absorb Morningstar's dark energy, it would make his own power perfect, giving him a chance to become a demigod. And for Morningstar, the same was true.

They were two sides of the same coin, linked by their dark power. If Jayden could absorb all of Morningstar's dark energy, he would be unstoppable. But the same was true for Morningstar if he could absorb all of Jayden's dark power, he would become even more powerful as that would unlock their potentials, and upgrade their talents to something known as SSS grade in the universe!

The most superior grade of all. Sadly, Morningstar didn't even know of this as he has yet to completely inherit the power which made his knowledge half complete.

"Attack!" Jayden shouted, his voice filled with twisted greed. "All of you, attack him! Break his bones and leave him in a half-dead state!" The crocodiles and other mutant creatures roared in response, their bodies shaking as they entered a battle state. From the mouth of one of the crocodiles, a storm of winds and earth erupted, careening towards Morningstar.

But Morningstar was overly cautious and so was prepared. With a single leap, he launched himself over the storm, avoiding the storm easily. As Morningstar landed, a shadowy figure shot out of the shadows, its claws delivering other injuries right at his back.

Just as it was about to return to the shadows, Morningstar clenched his fist and for the first time, he activated his Metal Three Claws skill.

Metal Three Claws>>> Lvl 1<<< uses QI energy as the base, higher user's strength, stronger and tougher it becomes. (Activated)< p>

Instantly three dark long, sharp claws emerged from each of his knuckles, looking like the claws of Wolverine from the X-Men movie. They were sleek and metallic, almost shining in the light. Without hesitation, Morningstar slashed at the shadow cat, who had partially merged with the shadows. His claws sliced into the dark shadow-like mist and the cat let out a roar of pain as it was forced out of the shadows. It was finally revealed in its true form - a monstrous, feline-like creature with four legs, four eyes, and razor-sharp claws.

One of its legs was missing, chopped off by Morningstar's first strike. Morningstar realized that while the cat could merge with shadows, its physical body was still solid and tangible. It couldn't become incorporeal or move through solid matter, meaning it has yet to achieve the state of nothingness. This meant that it was vulnerable to his attacks, and he didn't hesitate to strike again. Without thinking, Morningstar lashed out with his three claws, aiming for the feline's head. He wanted to end this fight quickly before the cat could do any more damage.

But the cat was faster than he had anticipated. It dodged out of the way, its eyes glowing with fury. And then, it let out a deafening hiss. Following it was a ball of dark energy which shot out of its mouth, slamming into Morningstar's hand which forced him to stop to momentarily halt. The cat took this opportunity to awkwardly retreat with its three legs. Meanwhile, Morningstar had to quickly circulate his qi in order to repel the dark ball which had some of its energy sipped into his arm. While at it, four zombies had already reached him and all of them were in a berserk state which increased their strength, looking closer he could also see about 6 wind beasts, and 8 crocodiles and he also felt like there might be some shadow beasts too. Sadly he didn't know there were some ugly looking vulture-like birds hiding in the sky and waiting for the perfect opportunity to deliver a strike. As he concentrated on those beasts and was ready to unleash all his strength in this battle, a shadowy bird from the sky swooped down with its talon wide open and ready to rip off Morningstar's head. It was an unexpected turn of events that caught him off guard.

He couldn't even react in time as the bird reached him, just when the claws were about to strike, a milky white arrow from nowhere flew past Morningstar's head and stabbed into the bird, sending it ricocheting away in a straight line. Without turning back he knew who saved him.

Kofi who was a bit far smirked at the sight of those beasts and yelled, "Obi3no, Hope I'm permitted to join?!"

Feeling a bit happy for having a backup just when he needed it, Morningstar couldn't help but yell back, "Sure, come join the party."
