CHAPTER ELEVEN (DETHRONED)

"I am sorry princess but I can't agree to that." The prince said and looked away.

Princess Memma dragged him to face her and said to him.

"Whether you agree or not I don't care but I will tell my father about us a day after my coronation."

"You can't do that to me." The prince complained.

"I can and I will." Princess Memma turned her face away from him and threatened.

"I will make sure you don't live if you refuse me. Trust me, I will do it." After saying this, she went out of the room without saying anything else.

Princess Memma's coronation came in fast and preparations were in earnest.

Servants put in finishing touches to their work.

Different varieties of food were made including the ones the missionaries eat in their school.

The drummers started beating their drums in the early hours of the morning. Different instruments were playing as well to add to the merriment.

Young maidens were busy entertaining the guests in the palace with their amazing dance and even Princess Nenma joined them. She was envied by all the girls because of her skillful dancing techniques.

"Wow, all the men of the kingdom are admiring the crowned princess." Said one of the maidens.

"Really? I don't think anyone admires her compared to her sister who gave up the throne to her." Another said mocking the crowned princess.

The coronation ceremony started and the princess's maid was sent to fetch her.

"How do I look?" Princess Memma asked. She was wearing the ceremonial dress that was worn by her grandmother, the first woman king.

"Beautiful. My princess." Her maid replied with a smile.

"Now, even I am as strong as a grandmother." Memma thought to herself.

They were passing through the royal storeroom when Princess Memma's ears caught someone's voice who was talking about her visit to the guest's chamber two nights ago.

She stopped in her tracks and listened more attentively. One of the guards was definitely telling another about the princess's visit to the guest's chamber and even called her visit a shameful one because of the discussion she had with the prince.

"I was certain that my instincts are never wrong. So this man was the strange sound I heard moving behind me." Princess Memma said upset and worried at the same time.

If anyone especially her father should hear about this, then she will get punished and can even lose the throne due to this careless act.

"I can't let that happen." She said to herself and clenched her fist.

She dismissed her maid without telling her the reason for her action. After she was certain that her maid was gone, she slightly walked into the kitchen.

Startled, the guard started stammering trying to explain himself.

"Why can't a nuisance such as yourself keep shut and not cause any disturbance for others?" Princess Memma asked him.

The guard stood in fear before her and started begging for his life when he suddenly saw the princess bring out a dark smoke from her hand. The other guard also got scared.

"I promised not to be a bad girl but I guess I can't keep that promise because I will never allow anyone to take away the throne from me." The princess said with her usual strange glow in her eyes and with a smile.

The guards went on their knees and continued begging.

"Don't worry, I will be nice and give you a quiet death." After saying this, she controlled the smoke and passed it into their mouths, ears, and noses choking them to death.

"What did you do?" Someone thundered from behind the princess, she quickly turned around and came face to face with her father. Her body started shaking.

"I am highly disappointed in you." King Bajju said after lashing out at her. After saying this, he turned around and started walking away.

She ran after him begging. "Father please forgive me."

"A person like you should never become the king. A king should never kill his people, I won't allow you to become king now." King Bajju said to her, choked up by the tears forming in his eyes.

A king wasn't allowed to cry and so he held the tears back and went on his way.

When he got into the palace and before everyone, she ran in after him.

"I have an announcement to make." King Bajju said and everyone kept quiet to listen to him.

"Father please don't do this to me." Memma pleaded.

"Princess Memma will not be coronated today instead her sister Princess Nenma will sit on the throne." King Bajju announced trying to control his shaking voice.

"Father no. I won't allow this." Princess Memma thundered.

"Well, I have not given you any choice." King Bajju said to her.
