5 The Dilemma

Every night was filled with conversation and what ifs. They talked about relationships and kids and family. But Ericka kept thinking will I ever meet this guy? By this time she wasn't seeing anyone else. There was no time. She was always taking to Kevin. He was funny and sweet and everything she wanted in a guy but was this real or was this just an internet friendship that went too far.

Kevin decided to go out with his friends to celebrate the end of his deployment. He said he would be drinking but would take a cab home and call her when he got home no matter what time it was. She was fine with that as she wanted him to have his friends and his life.

She stayed up all night waiting for his call. No call. This was so not like him. They talked every night. What happened was he ok? Did he get drunk and end up in a car crash? And who was she going to call? She couldn't call the police she didn't know what town he was in or what bar he went to. She didn't even know his friends names? She felt helpless. As the night went on she got more and more worried. Here was this amazing guy and now he's completely gone. Was this ok? Was she supposed to care this much? Yes, he was amazing. He was everything she was looking for and more.

He called around 9am the next day.

She broke up with him.
