Chapter 49: The Inheritance

Time was drawing close for Kazi's break from the war to be over, just about five days to go. This was also the time when he was given the key and access to Iro's yard where his belongings were. A few days later, Iro's clan held a burial for him which Kazi had to attend with his mother since she was part of the family. More people from his clan would have joined him if they knew he was now a second class, but that news was yet to reach them it seemed.

Bringing some family members or clansmen was customary for such occasions, and that was precisely because Iro had gone and handed over his belongings to Kazi.

"You must be Divara Kazi?" A lady approached Kazi and his mother after the burial. She wore black clothes fitting for the occasion, and her expression was cold also.

'I can already see the resemblance.' It was Iro's daughter.
