117 Revelation (2)

"I'll be leaving the country to participate in an MMA tournament."

.

.

.

Pin drop silence.

{How the fuck do you expect a bunch of Yandere girls - who are all unhealthily dependent on you for emotional needs -to react to the fact that you will be leaving them? To another country much less.}

'Oh.'

You should've fucking told me that before!!!

I looked at the closed-eyed smile of Sumire which was also mirrored by Marin. And Kurumi who looked like she was having a panic attack.

'Oops?'

"Honey,~" Sumire said with a sweet smile while tilting her head. "What do you mean by leaving the country?"

Marin who was sitting beside me also nodded her head to agree with the question. Kurumi was looking at me with shaky human eyes, the sausage on her plate all but forgotten.

The silence was pleading for an answer so I ignored the tension in the air and spoke, "I will be leaving Japan for a week and go to another country to attend an MMA tournament there."

Marin sighed helplessly but also with relief, seemingly noting to herself that a week was not too long. She could bear living a week without me.

But Sumire and Kurumi looked devastated. Sumire opened her mouth to reject the idea, but she knew this was my dream for a long time so she did not speak. She then opened her mouth again to ask if she could shorten the time but promptly closed her lips again as she realized I would've already shortened it as much as I could.

In the end, she settled by asking, "Why haven't you told me this earlier?"

"I was also only notified not too long ago." I lied, I have known this for a while but I hesitated to tell her. I held it up until now when it was almost too late.

"Couldn't you, you know, not go?" Sumire asked hesitantly, "You are still so young after all. Maybe you can train for another year and enter another tournament next year."

"Mom, you know this is important for me." I said and Sumire bit on her lips.

"You can come with me if you want. It will be like a vocation." I turned to Marin, "You too Marin."

Sumire and Marin's faces went sour as they heard that, "I can't. My father is coming home. It would be wrong to just leave with you in the only time I could be together with him."

Oh, right.

There was that. I was really hoping Marin could come with me, it was a holiday and I was already imagining her coming with me.

Guess I was wrong. But no matter.

I turned to Sumire and noticed her sad face, "I-...I have work." She said in a broken whisper.

...

Welp, so much for a Yandere mother. I thought she would surely decide to come. Work over me? really?

Well, I can understand, I was not one to talk when I was the one leaving. I was disappointed but not too much.

Even though I may have hope and expectation, I knew how to restrain myself so I didn't get too disappointed. A person needs that if he wants to live in the world, most things don't go as you want.

"Okay, I understand," I said and put delicious food in my mouth. I savored it while Sumire carefully studied my face, "I will try to shorten my stay there. I don't think I will need a week if I don't get too injured or something."

Sumire winced when I said injured.

"When will you leave?" Marin asked me this time, her tone curious.

"Next week so 4 days later." I replied and she nodded thoughtfully, "I'll miss you." she said.

I smiled, "I hope so because I would as well."

I turned to look at the sad Kurumi. I would've loved to take her along but it was impossible. She was a wolf, a wild animal so it would be hard to get a plane that allowed her. She was not just any normal pet after all.

And there was also the fact that I did not have any permit to own a wolf. These exotic animals such as wolves, tigers, elephants, bears, and even some dangerous dog breeds are not allowed to be owned by anyone as they could pose a danger to others.

The rest of the dinner was spent in an awkward atmosphere where Sumrie was clearly distracted. Marin on the other hand was planning how we were going to spend the four days before I left.

Kurumi on the other hand came near my leg and settled there, leaning on my skin.

Author : Yeah, it's only 800 words. So what, I fucking got exam tomorrow.

Ironically, it's English.

I swear these poem made no sense and they aren't even that deep. And the strange words with meaning, ad-hoc, prima facie are numbing my brain. They don't even sound English.

Pray for me. I need at least 80% or else I wouldn't be able to call myself an author.

Thanks for reading, here's a fun pic to make up for the short chapter.
