254 On the other side of the world

[3rd POV]

Tsukimi entered the VIP room of the restaurant and her eyes immediately landed on Eugene who was sitting in the only table with a bouquet of flowers on his lap. There were two bodyguards behind him.

Mandeok Bang, a giant of a man and a seemingly small guy wearing a cap with his face hidden. These were the two bodyguards Eugene had at all times.

They were his shield and sword. Or as he would like to call it, his equivalent of Charles' Goo and Gun.

Tsukimi made a beeline to the table and sat on the chair. Her bodyguards, Nomen and Huttoko also stood behind her, ready to protect her anytime.

Especially Nomen.

"Did I keep you waiting for long?" She asked while fixing her hair.

Eugene just gave her a smile that was definitely too sweet for a subordinate who was late. No, it was too sweet of a smile to give to a simple subordinate.

His smile was beyond their relationship. Or at least hopeful for beyond their current relationship.

"Not at all. I just got here as well. If you were a minute earlier, you would be the one waiting." He said, receiving weird looks from his two bodyguards.

That was not true at all.

"Here." He said and presented her with the bouquet of rose. "For you."

Tsukimi took the flowers in her hand and smelled them. She spared him a plastic smile for his effort.

The waitress quickly put food on their table and even without Tsukimi having to order it, they served all of her favourite Japanese foods.

Tsukimi simply eyed Eugene and couldn't help but feel a bit of pity for the boy. She was aware of his feelings for her.

Eugene had been going after her heart for almost 2 years now, but the sad thing was that her heart was not her own to give away. So his love for her had been one-sided.

As someone in a one-sided love as well, she felt emphatic towards him. But humans were not the ruler when it came to the matter of the heart even if it's their own.

'At least, it's useful at times like this.' She thought to herself, referring to how Eugene was willing to meet with her the moment she asked.

The meeting began slow and almost like a date. Eugene asked her how her day was and how the business was going. And if the politicians had threatened her again.

Tsukimi was a natural born seductress. Her whole existence and body seemed to be designed to seduce men, her hair, face, body and even her voice were alluring.

She sometimes used these to her advantage and seduced politicians. Of course she did not let them touch hee but just a photo of them in an inappropriate position like being in a private room, a provocative message they sent her or even voice recordings of them saying naughty and sweet things to her.

That was all she needed to blackmail them. She was still a minor after all, and politicians care much about their reputation. The fact that she was an immigrant also helped.

She used this as a leverage to strike deals with them. A small advantage that makes things easy for her. Though that was not nearly enough to get them to do her bidding, but it certainly helps seal the deal.

She was put in charage for dealing with these kinds of things. Not only for blackmail, but her charm made dealing with men easier.

Afterall, all men fumble and had lower IQ in front of a young hottie.

This had been immensely helpful for the Workers, leading them to be more powerful and influential than they ever were in canon.

How ironic, she used the same method of crime which ruined her life, blackmail as a weapon.

Though the advantage was going to end soon since she was quickly reaching adulthood.

But Tsukimi was not worried, that was not all she was worth afterall. She was still a genius at managing a business and had picked up a thing or two during these two years.

"So, Chifuyu." Eugene said as he drank his mocktail "Why do you want to meet me?"

Tsukimi did not answer immediately and swallowed her food first. She wiped her luscious lips elegantly as no men present complained about staring at her red lips.

"I want the Workers to lay low for a while." She said after wiping her lips.

"!!!" Eugene was surprised and confused at such a proposal.

"Can you elaborate?"

"I want the Workers to lay low for the month of April and May. We should stop some of our illegal activities and reduce our drug smuggling." She was going to continue her demand before Eugene raised a hand to stop her.

His eyes were flashing with intelligence and the love-struck smile had completely vanished.

"Now why would we do that?" He asked.

"It's the upcoming event." She said and Eugene immediately figured it out. "The UFC title fight?"

She shook her head, "Not just any title fight. The biggest match yet, predicted to surpass every match held before."

"I believe it would be better if we stop during this time as it's risky to run these operations during such a busy time." She started and continued listing the disadvantages of continuing their business could bring during this time.

Workers had become the centre of crime in Seoul. It could be said that if Workers stop their operations, all the crime in Seoul as a whole would plummet.

Be it selling drugs or buying stolen goods, the Workers had a direct effect on the crimes that happened in Seoul.

As Tsukumi was talking, suddenly Eugene started laughing. It started off as a chuckle until it grew into a laugh.

"Hahahaha, are you serious? President of the second Affiliate." He said, "Is that why you want us to stop our operation for a month? Are you sure it's not related to 'him'?"

Tsukimi paused.

"I thought you were smarter than this? It's exactly the opposite of what you are saying." He said, "During this month, the entire focus of Korea and the police would be towards security and the coming event."

"This is the prime time for us to move our big projects forward. And with many people coming to Japan to watch the fight, it's also a great opportunity to transport people illegally. It's an advantage, Chifuyu, not a disadvantage as you said." He finished.

Well, at least it was worth a try. Tsukimi thought to herself.

It would've been great to make Korea peaceful during Yuito's stay. She thought she might be able to convince Eugene to let Workers lay low for a while so everything about the fight and Yuito's stay goes without a problem.

But that was not within her power it seems.

"That's unfortunate, perhaps my foresight has been wrong." She said.

"Is that all?"

"No. I also want to inform you that the 2nd affiliate will be slowing down its business for the next two months." She said and the air stopped.

Eugenes pushed back his glasses and the two bodyguards behind him got ready for conflict. What she just said was a very serious thing.

The second affiliate under her leadership was the highest-earning affiliate of the whole Workers. It could be said to be the heart of the Workers and their main income.

If she stopped, then that's basically slowing down the activities of Workers even if Eugene declined her first request.

The 2nd affiliate was focused on entertainment. Its casino attracts many rich people to Seoul especially with a hostess like her and the underground Circus even more so.

If she stopped, those rich people would stop coming and directly affect the other businesses as well too.

So the impact didn't even stop at their main income being down, the other affiliate will suffer as well.

"Hahaha. This is adorable honestly. You are willing to do all that, just so he would have a peaceful time?" Eugene asked.

He obviously knew about the man who stopped him from receiving Tuskimi's love. In fact, he was even aware of the history behind them.

He was an incredibly smart person. That should be evident with everything he had achieved so far.

He knew the motivation, history and plans of every presidents of the different affiliates.

But to go this far just so 'he' could have a safe time in Korea? That's crazy.

He was jealous.

That was not the only thing though, only Tsukimi knew this but Yuito was a good person and had a habit of encountering strange fates.

This was evident in the way he had a fight with Gun during his short week stay. There should be no reason for a tourist to meet Gun much less fight him, but Yuito did.

Tsukimi still could not wrap her head around how Yuito of all people got in a fight with Gun. Especially when she first learned who Gun Park was.

What are the chances of that happening?

She knew him, he was like the main character of a story, attracting all kinds of trouble.

So if he were to stay in Korea for a month, then there was a high chance he would encounter gangs or some kind of their activities.

It won't stop there, Yuito was a good person so he wouldn't be able to help himself from getting involved if he felt something was wrong.

That would put him in danger. The dangers of Korea that Tsukimi had come to learn during these two years. She couldn't help but worry for him.

So even if just a little, she wanted to reduce the chances. She wanted to clean the place before Yuito came here.

"It's meaningless. The people's attention would be fixed on the upcoming fight. No one would want other entertainment provided by the Worker anways." She argued.

"Though not to worry, I won't stop the business as I planned on making a betting pool for the fight and the Circus would also still be held, just not as frequent." she said.

Eugene paused and looked at her for a long time before he sighed.

"Do what you want, I put you as the president of the 2nd Affiliate after all. It's your decision." He said.

"But remember, your actions might cause me to take certain actions as well. One that might even affect our main star." Eugene said off sidedly.

Of course, he was not going to harm 'him' directly but he could be petty due to his current feelings and cause some, inconvenience.

Like what if Yuito had food poisoning right before the fight? Or what if a car brushed against his leg, injuring his ankle and costing him the fight?

He hoped that his words at least scared her a little. But it was a poor choice of words.

There was silence.

And then.

*FWOOSH*

The giant hand of his bodyguard blocked his vision. His eyes widen when he realizes what had happened.

The butter knife on the table was planted firmly on the palm of his bodyguard's hand, it was bleeding. If not for that, the knife would've hit between his eyes.

...

"Sorry,  my hand slipped." Tuskimi said, "I will be leaving now,"

She swiftly got up and left the restaurant and her bodyguard quickly followed.

Nomen showed his middle finger to Eugene though as he was angry that he pissed her off that much. Now he was going to suffer her foul mood for a long time.

"It was nice meeting you as well, Chifuyu." Eugene said with a smile as he watched her leave.

He haven't even met him but he didn't like Yuito Fujita at all.

His existence, bothers him.

Eugene hummed as he thought of something.

...

Tsukimi walked back to her office in the second affiliate. There was a visible frown on her pretty face as her eyes remained unkind.

She was walking through the hallway when her phone rang.

She answered the phone as a voice came from the other side.

"The plane had just landed."

Tuskimi cracked a genuine smile after a long time.
