Interlude : Korea

[3rd POV]

Tsukimi watched from afar as Yuito prepared to board his plane.

She was ashamed to be too close yet she was not strong enough to let him go either. So she stood atop a bench and watched him from a distance.

He saw her as he was about to board the plane and waved at her. She put on the most beautiful smile she could muster and waved back at him.

"Stay safe." She said while waving and he was kind enough to give her a smile of farewell.

Then he was gone. She got off the bench and made her way outside to the runway. She waited patiently for a while and she watched the plane Yuito boarded take off.

*FWWOOOOOOSSSSSHHH*

She watched closely as the plane took off and breathed in relief when the plane took off without a problem. She knew it was silly to worry about it but she couldn't help herself.

His departure left a massive hole in her heart but she endured it. She had no time to cry or brood over it as she was busy with other things.

She took out her phone and typed a message to one of her contacts, 'I watched the plane take off. It felt like my heart was tied to the end of the plane.'

Then she looked at her other contacts and noticed many missed calls from both her mother and father. She scoffed at it.

They were probably more worried she would commit a sin than her safety. Now that she had resolved whatever depression she had before, she was not going to be their little submissive girl anymore.

She was done living in that hell hole.

She was thinking up plans on how she was going to put them away. Should she set up a camera and record how her parents beat her when she got home and report them to the police?

"But I don't wanna get beaten up." She said to herself while walking away from the airport.

She pondered on how she was going to deal with her parents. She could run away from home and with her body, she was sure she would be able to make more than enough money to live well. She could even get a rich man as a boyfriend.

But those thoughts were immediately discarded the moment they came in. She was still a virgin and she was not going to give herself away if it was not Yuito. She will live like a priest preserving herself for her God which may not exist, or in her case, for the man she would probably never end up with again.

She thought of other ways she could escape her parents, then a certain someone came to mind.

She went to a prestigious private school and there were these two twins whom she helped because they were severely bullied when she first arrived here in Korea.

Maybe it was in the memory of Yuito helping her when she was getting bullied but she befriended them.

And she prevented the delinquent from going after them which she could do because every boy wanted to be on her good side to get into her pants.

They were her first friend after she came to Korea and it would not be wrong to say that they helped her to get through the first few months of separation from Yuito.

The older one of the twins was disabled and behaved like a child, which was one of the reasons they got bullied. He had come to like her very much during the time she spent with them.

And the younger twin was extremely smart and could be said to be the ultimate nerd. if one were to look at it, they would say he took all the brains of his sibling as well. He was crazy smart.

They were good friends for months.

But later on, they got into some gang crews and they slowly went their separate ways. At one point they no longer even come to school.

But before they went and involved themselves with the gang's stuff, she remembered they gave her their number and asked her to call them whenever she needed help.

She thought it wouldn't hurt if she called them and sought help so she took out her phone and dialed their number.

She put her phone on her ear and waited for the call to be picked up and it took only 3 seconds. 'That was quick.' she noted to herself.

(Hi, He-llo!! Chifuyu, is that really you? Are you calling me?) the voice from the other side was that of a young man.

He was stuttering like a teenager getting a call from his crush.

"Hello, Eugene." Tsukimi said, "I need help."

(Please tell me whatever you want. I will make sure to complete it.)

'This might actually work out' Tsukimi thought to herself.

But getting away from her parents was far from what she was truly aiming for. It was only the beginning.

There was a guy out there that she needed to kill after all.

[3rd POV]

"You're crying Hobin." Bomi said to her love while handing her handkerchief to him.

They just watched Yuito board the plane and the moment he was out of sight, Hobin stopped smiling and started showing his true feelings.

"He'd beat me if he knew I was crying." Hobin said and wiped his tears with the handkerchief, "Stoicism and stuff, he said I shouldn't cry in front of a girl especially to the one I like."

Bomi blushed when Hobin basically just confessed but he was too emotional to even realize it. She just smiled fondly at him and stayed quiet.

"Well, there are some girls who would still like you even if you show your vulnerable side." she comments.

Hobin nodded and tried to reel in his emotion. In all his life he had been bullied and isolated because of his appearance and because he was poor.

Yuito was the first friend he had ever made, and the only person besides his mother who had gone out of their way to help him.

Although they only knew each other for a few days, it was more than enough for Hobin life to change.

Yuito changed his life.

He remembered all the wise words Yuito had told him and all the powerful mindset he had shared with someone like him.

Yuito was a friend but he was also a teacher Hobin would always admire.

So he can't stay here, crying for a long time. That would just disappoint his teacher.

"So what are you going to do now? Are you returning to school?" Bomi asked to which he shook his head.

No, he was still not good enough to return yet. He will return when he is a changed man and it will be the day he puts down his bully Pakgo for good.

"I'll be training some more." he said.

Defeating Pakgo was not the end goal either. He needs to do something more, something greater.

'Gun.' he thought to himself. It was the name of the man who beat his teacher.

Yuito was willing to share what happened to him more than he did with Tsukimi. So he knew exactly what happened and he also remembered Yuito's words.

'If you can, would you mind kicking his ass for me?' he had said half-jokingly but Hobin took it seriously.

He still remembered how helpless he felt when he saw his only friend covered in bandages, sleeping on the hospital bed. Hurt by someone he knew was stronger than him.

He had trained to get stronger and stand up for himself all this time but that was not enough. He needed to be strong enough to protect his loved ones.

He sent a side glace towards Bomi and he grew more determined. What is a man who can't even protect?

"Are you sure it's alright? You have been training so much lately.." Bomi said with worry for the guy she fell in love with.

He laughed, "Don't worry, I wouldn't go overboard, Besides I love training."

He was once the weak so he was now the person who loved the action of getting strong.

"I'll grow stronger so I can protect you, so I can protect my mother and everyone close to me. Not only myself." He said to which Bomi stammered and blushed deeply.

"Well, I'll be going now." Hobin said, being the typical dense main character who had no romantic awareness to walk her home.

He picked up the heavy bag beside him and started jogging away while remembering the words of his teacher.

'In this accursed world, everyone can betray you, even your closest friend or family. But hard work will never betray you.'

'I want you to run till there are 20 hours in a day. You must speed up the rotation of the earth.'

"That guy, seriously..." Bomi said helplessly as she watched him leave. But there was a small smile on her face.

"I love you, stupid."

[3rd POV]

"HaA~~ Why do I feel like a bunch of people are aiming for my head?" Gun said while he lay down on an ice-cold bath tub to heal the injuries he sustained from training Yuito.

"I wouldn't be surprised, you can't help making enemies left and right. When was the last time you went out and came back without inspiring some random people to kill you?"Goo Kim said while shooting out money from a gun-like-looking device.

"Stop wasting money and put down the gun." Gun said, pun intended.

"No seriously, at this point you wouldn't live to see your twenties. Someday, a kid will kill you because you humiliated them or hurt their loved ones sometime this week. "

Gun's lips stretched into a crazed smile while looking at the ceiling.

"They can try."
