Hospital

[3rd POV : Tsukimi]

Tsukimi reeled in the hatred in her heart as she looked at Yuito. She wouldn't allow negativity when she was with him.

She looked at his bruised and swollen face which was beaten until it was unrecognizable and she found it hard to stop hating.

She had never seen him so broken, so low and defeated.

She did not know why but seeing him like that made her want to love him more than she already did.

It made her heart wrench and she wished she could heal every single part of him. She hugged him as warm and tight as she could, hoping it would help him somewhat.

And then she prayed.

To the God, she despised all her life. The God that led her parents to abuse her and made her life a living hell.

For Yuito, she prayed for strength and health. She ask that Yuito never lose again.

She coddled him and waited for the ambulance to come. Her leg was starting to numb with the weight of Yuito's upper body on it but she didn't realize it.

After 10 minutes, the ambulance came and they immediately took care of Yuito. She followed them and always stayed by his side until they reached the hospital.

Then she paid for the entry and ambulance fee of the hospital. She would've paid for the whole expanse but she didn't have that much money on her as her parents were strict and wouldn't give her much pocket money.

She cursed her incompetence.

The doctor when they realized Yuito was only 16 years old, - 17 by Korean standards - they asked where his guardians were and they deemed it best to contact his parents.

Luckily, she had found his phone in the alley and had taken it with her. She took out his phone and easily opened the lock.

It was the same password he used back when they were still together, he had not changed his PIN code it seemed.

80085. (BOOBS)

'Silly Yuito.' she giggled to herself.

She did, however froze when his phone opened and she saw his wallpaper.

She saw a yellow-haired girl, smiling as wide as she could while hugging Yuito on her chest. She was taking a selfie and Yuito was blushing as he buried his face on her chest.

The girl was beautiful. The girl was a proper beauty unlike herself who was lewd and could only attract lust from other men.

Her lips thinned as she examined the girl on the wallpaper. She looked vivacious and had the beauty and vibe you would expect from the perfect girlfriend.

Her heart sank into the pit of her stomach.

But then she turned her eyes to Yuito in the picture and saw that he was happy. She smiled seeing that.

Tears fell from her eyes but she was not crying. She quickly snapped out of her thoughts and went into his contacts and pressed the call button on 'Mother' which was right above 'Perfect Waifu'.

She wiped the tears that involuntary fell from her eyes and waited as the call connected and a voice came from the other side of the phone.

(Oh, hi sweetie~) Yuito's mother said.

"Hi, Mrs Fujita..." she said, hesitant to tell her the news of her son.

(Who are you?) Mrs Fujita asked, her tone lost its sweet tone and turned serious.

Tsukimi let out a breath that lightened her heart and she said what must be said.

"It's your son, he..."

[3rd POV : Sumire]

"No..." Sumire mumbled while clutching her phone near her ear.

She was in the kitchen, wearing an apron and preparing dinner as she had invited Marin to come over since she felt lonely.

'Not again.' she begged in her mind but the girl on the other side of the phone continued telling her about the trouble her son was currently in.

"Can you send me a picture of the doctor's diagnosis and one picture of him too. Thank you." She said with a seemly professional voice but she was crying.

She put down her phone and she grabbed a hold of the kitchen counter so she did not fall. She cried harder as her heart beat loudly in the cavity of her chest.

Her son was injured, again.

And she was not with him, again.

She should've been with him, it was all her fault that he was alone. She untied the apron she wore and went to the living room before sitting on the couch.

Then she heard the notification on her phone and she quickly picked it up and looked at the photo she received.

It was the photo of Yuito and the doctor's diagnosis of his injury. She pressed on the photo to her son. It was then that it finally hit.

Her eyes widened and she covered her mouth to prevent herself from screaming in horror.

Hearing and seeing was a completely different thing. Big tears broke free from her eyes and fell from her face.

The photo showed Yuito who was lying on the hospital bed. His whole body was covered in bandages but blood seeped through from the white ropes.

It was more serious than she could ever imagine. The girl on the phone seriously downplayed the amount of injury Yuito had sustained.

Her heart twisted when she saw him in such a broken state. But what could she do?

She could do nothing.

He was a thousand kilometers away from her. And she remembered clearly that she was the one that let him one thousand kilometers away from her.

It was her fault, she told herself.

If she had gone to Korea with him, maybe she could prevent him from sustaining such injuries.

The voice said he was beaten up by someone in an alley but she did not believe that.

She knew her son was strong. She even watched him beat one of the strongest Korean fighters easily in the tournament

No one could just beat him up, and obviously not to this extent.

Her mind wandered off, coming up with different scenarios Yuito must've been in.

He must've been beaten by groups of people or at least the one who did it must have a weapon. She couldn't imagine him losing otherwise.

She conjured different possibilities in her mind - her son, beaten up by multiple people because they were angry at the fact that he beat Munseoung in the tournament. Or him encountering Korean gangsters who attacked him with weapons.

She cried harder as she thought of such things. She wondered just what happened to him.

What had brought harm to her son?

But one thing remained true.

He was alone and she wasn't there to protect him.

Her son was not even an adult, he was still but a child. And he was hurt while he was alone in a foreign country, a thousand kilometres from her embrace.

She failed as a mother.

She touched her face and felt the tears falling off her eyes and she laughed helplessly.

Her son was in a hospital bed somewhere a thousand kilometers away from her and all she could do was come up with an imaginary situation he found himself in and cry.

That's all she ever did. Cry.

From the very moment he was born, she cried to him, seeking comfort in his existence. Often times she thought it was he who took care of her and not the other way around.

She was useless.

She picked up her phone and called someone to book the earliest flight to Korea. Yes, only now did she decide to go to him.

Just like last time, she would be late again.

"Forgive me Yuito. I'm sorry you have such a bad mother."
