57 Adjusting Well

The room was dark at first, but soon lights started switching on when a sensor picked up motion.

The door quickly shut behind them.

It was a large, blank room except for counters along one edge and storage underneath. On metal stands were pieces of armor in various states of destruction. The destruction ranged from minor scratches to full pieces of armor missing entirely.

Varya walked around the room, staring intently at what was displayed. Her eyebrows were lowered in thought.

There was a piece of armor that had a large hole in the back, and it reminded her of when Basileus was unfairly attacked by Emperor Kruos and returned to her in the worst shape she had ever seen him. The memory caused her to feel instantly fearful.

It seemed Dr. Brie read her mind because he quickly walked forward and shook his hands in the air.

"Don't worry!" he exclaimed. "There were no soldiers harmed in the destruction of this armor."

Varya sighed in relief and gave him a small smile.
