1 To save a life one must be sacrificed

It is night and everyone is in their beds asleep with satisfaction after a long day of work. The moon was shining on the land, and not a single sound was heard.

However, the silence didn't last as someone was running in the middle of the night. The silhouette of a woman with fox ears and nine tails was running through the woods clutching a child in her arms, one of her ears had been cut her body was layered with bruises and blood, and her white fur and hair were covered in dirt.

Behind her are several men all in armor and launching spells, to subdue her and claim the child. The woman is panting heavily and is trying to find a certain location to place the child.

She then arrives at a clearing sets the child down pulls a piece of paper and quickly scribbles something on it. The men finally arrived at the same clearing where the women stopped.

"There she is, quickly kills the crippled child and the heir!" All the men then rushed towards the women and tried to kill the defenseless child on the floor.

But a barrier appeared and deflected the weapons away from the child. The men turned towards the woman and saw her chanting a spell, they widened their eyes when they realized it was a forbidden spell. They rushed towards her to stop her from chanting, but they were too late.

"...I offer my life to break the law of the world to travel through time and space and send my child to a better place, for I am a failure to offer that grace. So heed my call and send him away to a time where he will smile and enjoy the life he was given." The barrier around the child glows brighter and brighter, causing everyone to close their eyes.

The brightness then faded away, and where the child was, was nothing but a patch of grass. All the men then turned towards the woman and ran at her. The woman herself lowered her head, accepting her fate. Spears and swords pierced her body, but she never cried in pain.

Instead, she was smiling with happiness all of the men were surprised at why she was smiling, and thinking that she lost her mind they decided to end her. But before they killed her the world darkened and not a single piece of light remained.

"This is why I sent my son to a better place." Those were the final words she spoke before, she fell backward, and her eyes dulled.

In the distance is a black wave destroying everything in its path, the men then widen their eyes in fear and start to run away. However, it was in vain since all of them were destroyed, yet the mother's corpse remained untouched.

Two beings appeared in front of the corpse, one being a golden light like the brightest star, while the other being was black and empty like an abyss that no one can escape from. Both of them stared at the corpse and said nothing. The silence was then broken by the dark being.

"What do we do with her brother?" The dark being asked with concern in his voice.

"There is nothing we can do, she offered her life to break the law to save her son. And she was successful and as the universal law states, we cannot interfere." Replied the being of light.

"All we can do is preserve her corpse so that she may rest for eternity." The being of light then raises his hand, and a bright light then covers the mother, healing all her wounds and bruises she has accumulated.

The earth then parts to form a grave big enough to place the mother inside. She then is lowered into the grave and a casket surrounds her so that her skin and fur stay clean.

The earth then closes and a bouquet appears on top of the grave. The two beings then lower their head in an apology to the mother for not being able to do anything.

They then departed and left the grave so that the surrounding area would flourish. Hundreds of years later that very same son would find his mother's grave with many lovers.

They would all bring an item to give thanks to her for sending him forward in time, to help them all, and to show her the many children they all birthed. Making the kitsune flourish the world once again.

But that's a story for another time.

Years later in a town full of Faunus a large house could be seen in the middle of the town. A bright light then shines on the doorstep of the said house, yet no one is there to see it happen. The light then dims away revealing a child wrapped in blankets to protect it from the cold.

The child then cries hoping to grab the attention of anyone that is still awake. Soon the door opened and out came a man wearing black clothing opens the door, he had a stern face and golden eyes. He then sees the child and looks to the sides to see if there are any tracks.

He then takes the child inside to keep the baby warm, yet the child continues to cry. The man hears a voice calling him to see what has happened. The man then takes the child to a bedroom, and on the bed is a woman with cat ears with two piercings on one ear. She is pregnant with her child and is expecting to give birth soon.

"Honey why do you have a crying child in your arms." Asked the woman in a worried tone.

"I wish I knew Kali, I found him in front of our house and checked to see if the mother was nearby, but I didn't find any tracks." He then passes the child to his wife and the child then calms down until it falls asleep.

Kali sees a piece of paper fall from the blanket and points at it. Her husband then grabs the paper and sits with his wife to read what it says.

"To Ghira and Kali Belladona. My name is Kiki Kurosaki, if my prediction is true, you are now holding my son. I did not have much time to explain, his name is Aiko Kurosaki. He is the last of his race as a Faunus, like me he is a kitsune, we are of nobility but that is no more. I beg of you two please raise my son, guide him towards the right path, and help him find people to love. I know it may sound ridiculous but as I said before he is the last of his kind. So I beg of you to raise him well."

"P.S. I wish to see some grandchildren soon."

The two Fanuses stare at the note and are wondering what to do. Kali then clears her throat to catch her husband's attention.

"I have decided, we will raise this child as our own." Ghira then tries to persuade Kali not to make any rash decisions, but all he receives is a death glare from his wife, so he reluctantly agrees. He then saw the face of the child and he smiled.

"Well, at least we will have some practice before his sister arrives."

"That we can agree on."
