A kitsune's tale

I would do anything to be with you, so just reincarnate - was what Azuki Kamiko said to her lover, Kinoko Takei before he was sent to the underworld to be punished for his sins. He was killed brutally - being stabbed and burnt to death. Over his lifetime, he committed many sins, thus recieving a ten thousand years of torture in order to redeem his soul. Not being able to loce wirhout him, Miko traded her powers in exchange for him to reincarnate sooner. After that, she was cast out of the heavenly realm and fell into a slumber. Now, a hundred of twenty years later, Miko finally woke up met someone. He resembled Takei in everyway, from his mannerisms to his habits, and even looked similar. However, she could not confirm if he was really Takei. Will Miko find out if the new man she met was really him? Will she be able to be with him for this reincarnation at least? Or will she find out one or two more deeper, darker secrets?

At a friend's friend

"How may I help you, miss?"

"Uhh, is Tashi here? He told me this was the adress." Miko muttered out her words, out of nevousness. She had never really communicated with other humans before.

"Hmm, Tashi! Someone wants to see you!" The man shouted across the room. Soon after, Tashi apleared at the door.

"Hey Miko. Come in." Tashi smiled, his hands opening the door for her. Miko accepted his invitation and entered, blushing slightly. He closed the door behind her, with a click sounding as the door's mechanism shut. Tashi locked the bolt shut and inserted a key into a hole, locking the entire door.

"Well, make yourself comfortable. Uhh, this is my friend, Shiro, and uhh Shiro, this is my friend, Miko."

"Hi," Miko smilled, trying not to make things awkard. Luckily for her, Shiro greeted her back.

"So... yall together or..."

"No- w-we're just friends. Uhh Miko, would you like to make yourself comfortable in my room first. Its down the hall to the left." Miko nodded and walked in, shutting the door behind her.

"We're just friends," Tashi continued, "for now."

"Ohhhh. Goodluck then... well are you guys going to... since she is in your room?" Shiro smirked again, before returning to counting the packets of product he was selling.

"No- not yet. She needs to consent for that first." Tashi replied.

Miko was losing her cool in the room. She was just said to be dating him?! Not that she mind since she genuienly wanted to be together with him in the end. She just had to take small steps first. Baby steps. Her face was heating up, and she was distracting herself by looking around the room. It was full of comics, filled with his favourite series. Miko chuckled, but looking around seemed to make her more nervous. Her tail twitched every now and then, along with her ears, which couldn't be seen due to the illusion, although she could still feel them.

The door opened soon again, this time with Tashi bringing over some tea. He put the cups on the bedside table and turned to face Miko.

"So, found the things you wanted yet?" Tashi asked, relatively calm compared to Miko. She could feel her heart pounding rapidly in her chest, although she simply shook her head.

"Its alright, you can always try again tommorrow." Tashi smiled in reply. He took a cup from the table and handed it to Miko, before drinking some from the other the cup. It felt a little awkard, so Miko decided to talk about some other topic.

"Anyways... you have a nice collection of books." Miko said.

"Haha.. thanks. These are collected from when I was seven. I am still trying to expand my collection." Tashi replied. Just like that, they continued this conversation till late at night. Miko didn't know what it was, but seeing him lost in his own world, talking about things he liked but she didn't understand, bought her so much joy. She smiled throughout the conversation, even though she could not understand half of what he said. Soon, it was time for bed. Tashi offered to sleep on the floor, so that Miko would feel more comfortable. However, Miko refused. How could she force someone else to sleep on the floor in their own house?! So she denied the offer and slept on the floor instead, no matter how much Tashi insisted.

The lamps have all blown out, with only the fragrance of the oil in the air. Some light from the moon shone in, and that was the only light source there was. Miko, although a little uncomfortable, was sleeping soundly, her soft breathing echoing throughout the room. Tashi didn't know how light of a sleeper she was, so he adjusted his position to creek the bed. Seeing the figure on the floor wasn't stirring, he got up. He knelt on the floor in front of her, admiring her beautiful face. He stared at her beautiful face, where the angle of the moonlight was just right, making her appear ethereal. She resembled that of a fairy. Unknowingly, he lifted his hand up to caress he cheek, stroking it gently. He tuck a few strands of hair out of her face, so that it could not obstruct his view. He chuckled. She was so gorgeous.

"Heh. Interesting. I do seem to like you... I guess I can only try my best to make you mine..." He smirked. He planted a kiss onto her forehead, to which she stirred. He quickly backed off and jumped back onto the bed which simply creeked loudly in response. Damnit. Miko sat up and glanced at the bed. She could feel something moist on her forehead, but simply ignored it. Maybe it was getting a little hot? She laid back down and quickly drifted back to sleep.
